A very good battle with excellent activity level and lots of craft. The storyline is also enjoyable with cool cliffhangers. I really liked the intense battles, especially when four (!) factions were chasing each other... Recommended for must-fly selection.

Well, this was an excellent battle. It is filled with a good plot, fun officer briefings, craft variety in both opponents and piloted craft, and it is challenging without being frustrating. Some of the bonus goals are confusing to figure out or are hard to complete but that really doesn’t detract from the battle too much. It is an excellent overall battle. I give it a4.85 (Rounded up to a 5 for purposes of the EH review scale).

This is a fantastic battle, another EH classic! Great briefing maps and officer questions, well balanced mission design, and a fun plotline. Mission 4 is just terrific. I highly recommend this one if you haven't flown it!

As a Verpine shuttle boards the Hyclass to capture the officer, a Barabel Strike Cruiser arrives and disables the Verpine's shuttle. The Barabel send their own shuttle to board the Verpine shuttle, which the Verpine retalliate by disabling the Barabel shuttle. Angered, the Barabel send a squadron of T-Wings to attack the Carrack Cruiser and the Verpine send a squadron of T-Wings to attack the Strike Cruiser. GUN Psi is to disable the capital ships while the fighter squadrons are kept busy. Afterwards, both sides launch R-41s and attack each other and the Hammer's forces as well. The Rebels show up about then and capture the officer themselves. GUN Psi is to disable the Rebel shuttle so the officer can be retrieved and brought to the Avenger. Once the Hyclass, shuttle Mescue, and transports carrying the leaders from both capital ships enter the Avenger's hanger, the Avenger will hyperspace out, thus completing the mission. Mission 5: Forced Diplomacy TIE Advanced This petty and pointless three-way war between the Empire, Verpine and Barabel is be put to an end. Since the leaders have been captured in the last mission, diplomacy can be forced on these two races. Of course, if the leaders object to a peaceful military stand-down, their civilizations will be pacified and crushed. At this point, they have no options. Once the Carrack Cruiser Larkyon hyperspaced to safety, the Avenger has been attacked by a Verpine strike force. The Avenger is planning on taking a stand and try to completely wipe them out. BATTLE 78 Mission 1: Eyes for an Eye Missile Boat ATR Ponge has tracked the Verpine to an astroid field in the Roche system. The plan is to destroy the Verpine's astroid bases and most of its defense force. This would badly hurt the Verpine forces so they can't launch any futher attacks on the Empire. (Note: Though the mission does contain astroids, TIE-CD is NOT required to play these missions. The astroids are included with the original TIE Fighter game but never used in any missions.) An Imperial probe left by the Avenger has detected a large number of Rebel and Verpine ships in the area. A recon mission proves that the Rebels are resupplying the Verpine with more equipment to compensate them for the loss of their two space platforms. Assault Gunboat After the Inflitrator Wing arrived last mission to help stop the cargo transfer, they have been temporarily stationed about the Avenger. Upon returning back to CRS Despot, the R2 units have taken control and sent the ships into hyperspace to meet up with the Cruiser Hierarch. Mission 4: Traitor Aboard the Avenger! TIE Advanced There was the a possibility of a Rebel spy aboard the SSD Avenger and now the spy has finally been uncovered! Unfortunately, the spy has also escaped.
