Easy mission on hard. Really well designed, with a variety of activities (dogfighting, disabling, strafing runs, inspections). I called in the reinforcements at the end, but better pilots could probably do without.
This one is very good and old-school. Pilot will be commandeering the Space Cadillac while fighting with his wingmen in a variety of roles. Smuggler ships and alphabet fighters, E/Ss and other fierce craft will oppose your group. Expect to fill in interdiction, seizure, dogfighting, platform bombing, and some twists at the end. Fast paced action and technically demanding, this is well-spent fun time.
Simple in its conception but extremely well-made, this mission is a candidate for a classic, if not for the scores which are hard to squeeze to max, and are far from the bloated feats of the legendary scorers of the past. Inflation has been eradicated in this imperial time of law and order.
A good mission, but takes a long time to knock over all the Bonuses. Capturing the MUTR and PLT are pretty simple, enemy ships are no challenge for your Space Cadillac (TIE/Defender). Good to fly in a Challenge squadron, but there seems to be some sort of in joke in the briefing that misses.
Well written action in a good mission environment. No negative criticism from me.
It's a nice mission. A bit easy on some points, but it's somewhat entertaining and gives a good atmosphere.
It features us Infernites, so it's gotta be good! What more can you ask? :) But seriously, this is a good misison as there is no room for lack of situational awareness here.
Fun and well-designed..
A warm happy feeling inside.
This is a well-crafted, fun mission that is just challenging enough while not being insanely difficult. Just wait until the rest of your flight leaves for some fun to start... I enjoyed this one a great deal. Well designed mission, good briefing, enough in-flight chatter. What else can I say?
Hrmmmm..... what does this remind me of..........
Simply put, the second-best Free-Mission in existence :P The only thing that this mission could benefit from was making it a little bit harder...but otherwise, it's great :P
Good mission. It would be better if I knew what Aurora Systems was in "real life". One problem I had was that my wingmen didn't take out the PLT's shields at all. Four T/D and all they could do was crash into it? Shameful.
Ahh!! Great plot! :P I loved this mission!

However, you find that you've been waken up by another pilot, who keeps whispering insistenly: "&%#$*@! Get up! You're supposed to go to the briefing room!" When you get there, you see Lieutenant Colonel Corran Force, your Wing Commander, as usual, except that he's -- twitching. Why is he twitching? Oh, well. You better ask him about the mission. "What are the objectives of this mission?" He emits an ear-piercing shriek. "Well, bud, thanks for the great briefing. See 'ya round, CoFo," you say soothingly, patting him on the shoulder as you go up to ask that Dark Brotherhood guy what's up... * * * The situation, as it turns out, quickly becomes more serious as you question the Sith warrior about your mission. Jorgo the Hutt, with his persistent sending of Aurora Online demo holocubes, has threatened Imperial sanity and finally irritated the commanders of the TIE Corps (especially Corran Force there...) to the point of approving the assault and capture of his fortified headquarters. Since it has been made clear that Jorgo must be captured, it has been decided that the Challenge's interdiction squadron, Inferno Squadron, will be put on the job. Examining the briefing map, you see a sketchy outline of what Jorgo's defenses could be -- stolen light capital ships and the more outdated fighters such as Y-Wings and R-41 Starchasers. It doesn't look like much of a threat to half a squadron of TIE Defenders, but you decide you had better be on guard anyway. Anyway, get to the hangar -- your squadron mates are waiting! Mission outline: ---------------- -First order of battle is to DISABLE JORGO THE HUTT'S TRANSPORT, a MUTR, with ion cannons. Your CMDR is an adept Dark Jedi and will attempt to single handedly capture Jorgo's MUTR. -After Jorgo's fate is sealed, the rest of the squadron is to CLEAR THE ENEMY DEFENSIVE SCREEN. Not much needs to be elaborated on this. -Lastly, DISABLE THE SPACE PLATFORM that houses the headquarters of Aurora Online. ATR Plunderer, manned by a crack squad of Hammer's Fist troopers, will loot any useful equipment and bring it back for reinstallment in New Imperial City. While the troops are performing the capture operation, DESTROY ALL COMM SATELLITES, to avoid any loose ends we could regret later on. OBJECTIVES: ----------- Primary: 100% of all Comm Sats must be destroyed 50% of Jorgo's craft must be destroyed T/D Inferno 1 must have completed mission MUTR F'll'grrr must be captured PLT/5 HQ must be disabled ATR Plunderer must have completed mission Secondary: FAC/1 Ogroj must be inspected CUV Senzin must have completed mission Bonus: 100% of all Rebel craft must be destroyed FAC/1 Ogroj must be captured 100% of E/S Devil must be destroyed CORT Dateel must be destroyed 100% of T/W Blizzard must be destroyed 100% of SPC Vigilant must be destroyed ATR Deimos 1 must be inspected GAMEPLAY NOTES: --------------- -Player's TIE Defender and wingmen carry a half-load of concussion missiles and tractor beam. You cannot issue orders. -All ships with warheads (T/W Blizzard, X/W Blaze, M/CRV Phobos) pack REGULAR concussion missiles with the exception of X/W Blaze, who packs ADVANCED concussion missiles. -There are a total of FOUR comm sats you must destroy. -It is in the mission design that Inferno 1 is NEVER threatened by enemy ships, so you don't have to go insane trying to protect him while he mounts the capture operation. If anything, protect Inferno 2, who is the main target of the enemy interception. -You DO HAVE reinforcements, they will arrive on the conditions that 1) you request them and 2) the Rebel ambush fleet must have arrived. Your backup group is "T/A Sith," with three ships on Ace w/a double load of advanced concussion missiles. -Jorgo's mobile defenses are on "VETERAN" intelligence. X/W Blaze is on "OFFICER" and Rebel ATRs and M/CRV are on "ACE." Thanks for playing "Aurora Online!" I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did making it :) FL/LCM Calvin Nunb/Inferno 3-1/Wing X/ISD Challenge PCx2/MoI/MoT-gh/MoC-BoC {IWATS-IIC/3-M/2-TM} theforce@iserv.net
