Excellent mission with some minor flaws in the last phase of the capture operations. It starts with a regular inspection round, until all hell breaks loose and there will be dozens of neutral fighters to shoot down, see IRD, Preybirds and Firesprays that will keep you on the edge at all times. There are a few DREADs to sink and half a dozen of massive platforms to disable and capture. Additionally, you are required to provide security for your ISDs and capital ships . Reaching the ending part of the mission, where multiple ATRs will be launched and ferry troops to the platforms, it becomes a total mess. The ATRs repeatedly collide onto the platforms after delivering the troops and only a handful of them will have skilled pilots to maneuver them back to safety, all this in total absence of enemies or opposition of any kind. Moreover, overseeing these troop transport operations will drain a lot of precious time, in which your best option is to stay idle and watch them crash and burn. This should be corrected, both the issues of colliding ATRs and the unnecessary launches of fresh transports that repeat the cycle of disabling and capturing the already seized platforms. A pity, because this is an otherwise beautiful mission with a massive scope and a lot of fun while playing it. Worth a try, anyways.

Great mission. Prime choice for competitions as well. The mission has it all. Dogfighting in several sectors. Multiple jumps. Protecting a SHU and also assisting in securing a few seizure operations. The action is fast paced and challenging, yet at a reasonable level of difficulty, but that rest assured that it will keep you on your toes from side to side in the field. Power management here will be important to reach every attacking flight group in time to avoid one disaster after another. In the end, some tricks may boost your score if you have the patience to fulfill your duty to its maximum extent. A golden classic in my book. Do not miss it.

The mission is almost perfect but has some important flaws that only will show if pushing for maximum scoring. The plot is simple yet effective, player can choose a T/D to protect Y-W or GUN bombing and disabling a X7 Factory or be part of any of the two bombing flights. Either way, the challenges are high. Even using the Space Cadillac, aka TIE Defender, the edge is very much possible to achieve but will not be a walk in the park. On the other side, flying the Y-Ws or the GUNs is going to be a nightmare. The mission has it all, see bombing, space superiority, protection for a capture operation, and even disrupting a bombing run on your own capital ships. Every enemy will be armed with missiles and are going to use them sparingly. At the end of the day, when everything is wiped out, a crew of CUVs and TUGs will show up to capture the CN/As, but this was a mess of poor programming. All of the utility craft will take ages to reach the X7 and constantly crash on it after finishing the docking procedures. Additionally, those who manage to survive or maneuver away from dying on the walls of the factory, it will take over 10 minutes or even more to reach the DREAD. This was frustrating and totally ruined that final part of an otherwise, golden cast in excellence of a mission. Worth a try, you will not be disappointed, but beware for the last part of the mission. You will lose a tad of precious minutes of your life, to no avail.

A good, solid mission about protecting some craft. It includes, probably a few inside jokes, which may be hilarious for those who lived those days, but leaving all the rest of us in obscurity. However, the jovial mood of the names and the preparations of a major party is part of the role-playing in the mission. The fighting against the CRLs is intense, and it is quite challenging to fend off all those Y-Ws shooting torps, the X-Ws with missiles and a sneaky T-W that may, eventually, ruin your day if it's not immediately dispatched. All in all, a great mission with a substantial challenge, yet far from frustrating, that will give every pilot a good amount of solid fun and joystick wrestling. Do not miss this one.

Straightforward as it gets. Escort an E/S against some Rebels trying to destroy or disable it, until your mothership arrives. Some dogfighting and little else. And it feels a bit overpowered in the T/D against the usual scum in their alphabet fighters. Worth a point for your FCHG trunk but nothing more.

Fastest mission in the Compendium. You can literally finish it in 2 seconds, being a golden choice for spamming or RtF. But you'd miss the magic and wit hidden in it. This mission is complex and fruitfully addictive. It is a race, a cypher breaking mini game, and what's more, as challenging as it gets. The creator made a bundle of tricks and twists the player will have to figure out if anyone craves the High Score. Recommended for those with some brain and gills. Try it, but beware, do it with patience and a high level of resilience for your own frustration if you want the top score.

Very challenging, long and in the end, tedious. The plotline is simple as it gets, compete against other wings by trying to sink their ISDs and MISs, while fending off their T/Ds with Advanced Missiles. Such a feat is only possible because you are once again in the Almighty, Undefeated Ruler of the Stars, the Space Cadillac, aka the TIE Defender. Unfortunately this time, no Tractor beam means a lot of wobbling around in an endless attempt to meet your enemy T/D in the crosshairs to disable them. Do not destroy them or you will suffer 4 Flight Groups, -yes, even your fellow wingmen will shoot at you if you happen to scratch the paint on ISD Challenge, instead of cooperating in dogfights against T/Ds Iota, Dagger and Demon-, all joyfully jumping on you with their missiles and what not. This one is certainly a challenge and a perfect recipe for causing shoulder swelling, elbow massacre and wrist tendinitis.

A standard mission about inspecting TRNs and sinking everything else. Not much of a challenge, but it was a good amount of fun to mercilessly bash those poor souls in Z95s and X-Ws. The SPCs were a nice addition. In a nutshell: "Grind them down in your T/A". Overall, a mission that does not excel in any area, but gets the job done with some fast deliverance of imperial might and this never grows old.

Terrible mission. It's appalling how unnecessary some missions can be. This one features the legendary TIE Bomber, unshielded of course, but with a Tractor Beam? If there is anything more frustrating than dogfighting in the hammerhead configuration of a T/B laser set, is to sink a CRS and a STRKC with a standard load of warheads. Not even mention the A-Ws and X-Ws armed with missile and the worthless complement of friendly GUNs. A total disaster, that hopefully I will not need to fly again. You've been warned.

This mission turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. It starts with a simple, but great premise. Protect the COM and his E/S while flying in the Überbomber, aka Death on Wings or the Missile Boat. And yes, with a Tractor Beam. What else could a standard imperial naval pilot ask? A reloading craft, in the name of Palpatine... It's a lot of fun to grind down dozens of A-Ws and X-Ws armed with missiles, and while in the MIS, the player will not even break a sweat, but, sinking a CRS and a STRKC, takes a lot of payload that the standard setup will not provide. And bringing down any of those capital ships, after being stripped of their turrets and defenses, on the single-cannon MIS is more of a joke than an offensive tactic. Finger soring. Tedious. A shame, because just one standard reloader, or a double load would have made my personal delight, and probably those of other fellow imperial officers. Nevertheless, it's worth a try, but it could have been a golden classic in my list.

Super easy mission to complete, yet a challenge to master. Unshielded Spaceshoes Aim-right-shoot-left, aka TIE Interceptors, are a pain to fly when facing a final set of A-Ws armed with missiles. Fast FCHG point, but hard to reach any decent score without making multiple attempts. Worth flying though. The mailman is missing from the picture though. Don't expect barking dogs or vicious neighbours.

Simple and fast. Nothing much to tell but a classic defend your flagship scenario. Some FRTs and MURTs will jump in with explosives to collide against the Sub. Fight your way through some Y-Ws, Z-95s and R41s. Beware the rocket loaded M/CRVs because they can do some serious damage. Some honest fun for a fast skirmish. Not the best out there but does a good job to keep the player entertained and on his/her toes for the short duration of this action-packed mission. Good for points and good for a casual play.

A very original mission, yet not my cup of tea. Burning dozens of CARGs in a MIS sounds like a boring thing, but it can become quite challenging, especially when the Überbomber lacks the final tool of finesse needed to excel, see the Tractor Beam, so you will be forced to shoot point blank at Z-95 and wobbling CARGs that love to make you crash. Besides that, the mission is well made, and the tactical layout is perfect, as mandatory per any Talas' great creations. However, this one did not please me as any of the numerous Talas masterpieces. Fly it if you have already played all of his best creations.

A true nightmare of a mission. In the pleasure-for-pain way. Real challenging.
This time the only chance to survive the dozen simultaneous T/As and A-Ws with advanced missiles scrambling on you, is being on a Space Cadillac. And this does not mean at all that it will be easy, but the T/D will push you through in one piece... On top of being chased by Harkov's minions and abundant rebel scum, repeatedly firing their missiles like candy, the pilot has the task to protect an ESC from B-Ws and rocket-armed ATRs and a handful of friendlies in T/Ds. Some real fandango, and superbly carried out. This massive melee will probably melt your joystick or at least leave you with very sweaty palms. Do not miss this well-balanced, tactically sound, old school mission. For a real challenge.

Simple and old-school. My favourite kind of Free mission. Fly the Space Cadillac in a variety of roles: space superiority, interdiction, protection and seizure, even some of the never-grows-old capital ship sinking. Everything is possible in the all-easy cockpit of the TIE Defender. Death-in-a-ball will rumble about dispatching alphabet fighters, -but beware, some are packing advanced missiles-, then looting cargo and sweeping every witness. Perfect. Good material for a competition since it's simple, no tricks involved, but it will be hard to squeeze every point out of it. A golden classic from Hogan.

This one is long yet far from boring. It begins with a normal inspection of a few CN/As, and as soon as it happens some A-Ws with missiles and E/Ss pop out trying to make your life miserable while you are busy in the works of protecting some friendlies who will board the containers. Additional Y-Ws will also join the party and try to smoke you out with their missiles. If you are able to keep going, there are 3 more clusters of CN/As that need to be inspected and more enemies to dispatch. Although a very simple concept, it is solidly played out and is worth 20 minutes of frantic missile dodging, dogfighting and even some bombing if you survive long enough. Not bad at all...

What is more straightforward than a face-to-face duel? Well, this is it. Face a T/D in No-man's land while piloting a T/I, unshielded of course, with the challenge of shooting the minimum amount of lasers to beat the High Score. Sink the german CRV and mission accomplished. Too simple?, perhaps but a lot of fun if you want to beat the HS and sharpening your aim in the old Spaceshoe, aka Aim-Right-Shoot-Left, the venerable TIE Interceptor. The Red Baron did not stand a chance....

This one is not bad, but then again not worth a 4 like a solid good mission, for some details I will describe shortly. So it should be a 3.5, but there is no such score in the table. Now, the mission describes some of the battles alongside Imperial Storm II some 20ish years ago, of which I was part, and this certainly tickled my nostalgia. The action is good, well balanced. Assignment is to disable a X7 Factory while dogfighting A-Ws and X-Ws armed with Adv. Missiles, while also requiring to sink a rebel cruiser, and protect the seizure operation. Additionally the pilot is required to protect fellow imperial capital ships. It sounds like a full-house if not the case our pilot is flying the almighty, invincible Space Cadillac, the matchless T/D, where every job is a breeze and your enemies follow the undertaker. Some minor errors, though. If the platform gets captured and in effective imperial control, it will continue to launch enemy fighters from the hangars, which is nonsensical. But, overall a nice and fun mission to fly. Honest work.

A simple mission about capturing a SHU and then providing security for the seizing party. Dogfight your way through with X-Ws armed with Adv. Missiles, a M/FRG and a CRL. Straightforward as it sounds, it was a good couple of minutes of honest fun. Nothing too hard, but not boringly easy. Worth a try if you have played all the good ones in the compendium. Domi's Disciples of Death, rule. DDD of House Galthain, Clan Satal Keto.

This mission is a disappointment. One of many.
It starts with a simple, old school premise, provide space superiority, clear a minefield, disable a cap ship and protect the capture operation. But it was just that. So simple it turned out to be a bit tedious, since the enemy is no challenge, because although they are armed with missiles and could pose a problem on paper, see 4 Waves of 6 A-Ws and X-Ws flying against you simultaneously, they just go around in circles paying little notice to your presence and occasionally trying to shoot you down. I am giving it a 3, because it features my favourite ship, the Space Cadillac, see the mighty T/D, where everything is turned easy for you and fatal for your foes. Besides that, it's just an ordinary mission that could have been so much better. Fly it for the points.

Chinese water torture. This is what this is. Fly around in a T/A trying to take down asteroid laser batteries, which circle on you because a crew of armed invincible CUVs are towing them around. A real tedious nightmare. The original concept of the autonomous moving targets was clever, but the mission itself turned out to be a constant, endless suffering, because those asteroids, surely are sturdy. The only small satisfaction comes from the possibility of having the batteries shooting at each other. Skip this mission like the plague.

Excellent mission. Simple technical layout, well structured and perhaps nothing else in this proposed mission, but...
This one proves that the Space Cadillac, -the almighty, the unapproachable, TIE Defender-, can become a matchless one-craft-full-fleet on its own. A lot of dogfighting all along. Initially with weak pirates, then with something more serious. Nothing impossible, but this mission will certainly leave you with a sweaty palm and a warm joystick. Dogfighting your way through a dozen of simultaneous A-Ws with missiles, sinking 3 capital ships, armed with missile defenses and coming out unharmed, just in time for some cocktails in the cantina, is something that only this masterpiece of a weapon can do. The Space Cadillac. Say no more.
Fly this mission for some real fun challenge and smoke a cigar afterwards while reflecting of the path of destruction you left behind.

Average mission, yet very much playable. It's a classic setup of defend the precious CNVYRs and the facility, plus your FRG and retaliating to annihilate the enemies. Your craft of choice will be the T/A which is very much up to this job to wipe out some pirate fighters, see R41s, Z95s and T-Ws. Certainly it is not the best mission in the Compendium, but is enjoyable and gives some 15 minutes of honest fun.

Outstanding mission. It really squeezes out the player and the full power of the War Mule, aka the Assault Gunboat. With proper equipment, a crew of skilled pilots with GUNs can tame down a whole convoy of armed CTNRs, CARGs and CNVYRs, plus a M/CRV and a DREAD, with their security detachments of and Missile Boats and T/As packing missiles. Word of advice, use Torps. This mission has it all, and will become addictive until you manage to complete it. One of the best I've flown for the venerable Mule, which may be old, but can kick anyone -as its sobriquet suggests- into dust in the void. Do not miss this golden classic.

Very nice and challenging mission. Player flies a T/A, while protecting a PLT and several craft ferrying goods and CRVs laying mines to create a defensive perimeter. Odds are tough, yet far from impossible. Protect the CRVs and PLT from Y-Ws and yourself from a substantial enemy complement of A-Ws and X-Ws armed with missiles. Additionally, your Flight Group is tasked in sinking a STRKC and a CRS. The player in this one is forced to take multiple tactical sound decisions and to have an accurate aim to de-militarize the turrets of both cruisers, or the friendly group to be protected will not survive the heavy weapons of both cruisers combined. Action is frantic and multiple enemies at once make this mission a must for those who seek a nice challenge. Golden classic.
