Capturing the defensive platforms of an enemy base is fairly unique, since from what I've flown, you're usually tasked with destroying them. Thankfully, command had a bit more sense this time, and the player is tasked with capturing the platforms, except for the one that houses the overall targetting system. Pretty fun battle to fly though overall.

Excellent mission with some minor flaws in the last phase of the capture operations. It starts with a regular inspection round, until all hell breaks loose and there will be dozens of neutral fighters to shoot down, see IRD, Preybirds and Firesprays that will keep you on the edge at all times. There are a few DREADs to sink and half a dozen of massive platforms to disable and capture. Additionally, you are required to provide security for your ISDs and capital ships . Reaching the ending part of the mission, where multiple ATRs will be launched and ferry troops to the platforms, it becomes a total mess. The ATRs repeatedly collide onto the platforms after delivering the troops and only a handful of them will have skilled pilots to maneuver them back to safety, all this in total absence of enemies or opposition of any kind. Moreover, overseeing these troop transport operations will drain a lot of precious time, in which your best option is to stay idle and watch them crash and burn. This should be corrected, both the issues of colliding ATRs and the unnecessary launches of fresh transports that repeat the cycle of disabling and capturing the already seized platforms. A pity, because this is an otherwise beautiful mission with a massive scope and a lot of fun while playing it. Worth a try, anyways.

It's a solid mission. Flying vs a neutral faction for a change. The mission itself is quite well-designed and humorous at times. Nice involvement of your capital ships instead of sitting idle doing nothing they take an active role in disabling the platforms. Beware of collisions! I collided with one merc ship near the beginning and spent my entire time without any mirrors. It didn't get me excited enough for a 5. The boarding at the end could have been done a bit faster by having an additional ATR perform the boarding, but that's just a nitpick. I'm sure people will enjoy flying this one.

Lots going on in this one - fighters of all types, multiple platforms, escorting craft, and a great plot. The combat is well-balanced. Easy 5/5.

This was a really well made mission. I enjoyed the tactics behind it. Plently and variety of opposition for your T/A to blast out of the sky. And if you are fast enough you can kill a cap kill or two!

A true classic! Watching the frigates fly really close to the Golan platforms and shooting each others to death while you're dogfighting the fighters targeting you, and trying to kill the Supa Fighters attacking the Frigates gives the sensation of a good old fashion space battle. The beginning of the mission is also worth your time.
