Played on easy with cheats. Good briefings, straightforward goals. I had to dock a point though since I wasn't paying attention and failed a mission, and the "advice" was to go to the training platform. Not very helpful or informative.

Played on easy with cheats. Amazing story, I really liked it. Knocked down a point due to having caps with starfighter orders and just too many targets in the final mission to be reasonably done without cheats.

Its ok.
Story is amusing but a bit silly, missions are ok. Hate to do it without unlimited warheads.

Poor battle - echoing what others are saying about the last mission and the wingman

I’ll definitely give this four stars. It was fun, but the first two missions are dreadfully boring. Mission 1 is about 30 seconds of dogfighting Z-95’s before they decide to hyper out, and mission 2 is a good 7 minutes of flying around while waiting for the two shuttles to dock. For someone who is not even remotely a good pilot I found it fairly easy. Your wingman in the last mission is an utter moron, unfortunately, who hypered out when I told him to evade. I guess that’s one way to evade. However, your craft in the final mission is a missile boat armed with a double load of rockets and concussion missiles, plus you have assault gunboats backing you up. It’s definitely doable – I was able to smoke an ISD with little effort. Here’s a bit of a tip – if you dump your lasers and tractor beams and fly at an angle to the Star Destroyer, the turbolasers are unable to track you because you’re moving too fast. The story was interesting and fun – I love ambushing arrogant enemies who dare invade EH space!

It could be 4 points, but the last mission is pain in the ass. Your flight member will hyper out if you tell him to evade.

Very solid in terms of briefing, officer questions, etc. Obviously the author has put work into the storyline, which makes the mission fun. The only minor downfall is the lack of difficulty.

This battle had a good plotline and background for the story to elvove. It allowed people to ambush the enemy.

Battle 79 - Drop the Hammer Mission 1 - Rescue Imperial Citizens aboard the Supernova1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ISD Relentless has received a distress signal from a passenger liner (Supernova1) from deep in the Quarin Sector. A TIE-D from Crossbow SQD (Player) is sent out ahead of the Relentless to investigate the situation. When Crossbow arrives, he finds a group of unknown bandits attempting to disable the liner. Crossbow successfully defends the liner form the bandits, though it is disabled in the attack. The Relentless jumps in near the end to finish off/chase off the bandits. Crossbow also succeeded in getting an ID code from the Muurian transport the bandits were using, but the code turned out to be a counterfeit--we have no idea who the bandits are, or why they attacked the liner. Mission 2 - Repair the Supernova1 ------------------------------------------------- The Relentless will maintain its position while the Supernova1 is repaired. TRN Rescue is set to do the repairs, with a flight of TIE-Interceptors from Dagger SQD flying escort. A flight of TIE-A's from Hammer SQD (Player) flies a defensive patrol around the area. As the repair operation nears completion, a large fleet hypes in behind the liner, in perfect battle formation. It consists of one ISD, two Interdictors, a Carrack-class cruiser, a Strike cruiser, a Dreadnaught, and a Nebulon-B Frigate. Relentless immediately goes to battle alert, but the new fleet fires no weapons. Instead, a message is received over the com: the fleet is under the command of Tyrq Deunet, the Moff of the Quarin Sector, and he wants to speak immediately to our FC about the autonomy of the Quarin Sector, under his rule, of course. He's got the Relentless held hostage with the two Interdictors, and she is hopelessly outgunned. The Relentless' fighters return home while the call is sent out for the GA to arrive. Mission 3 - Drop the Hammer ------------------------------------------- The Emperor's Hammer doesn't take kindly to threats, especially those that involve terrorism on Imperial citizens, like those aboard the Supernova1. This arrogant Moff must be taught this lesson. Operation Drop the Hammer is drawn up. The GA will arrive in a heavily armored and loaded Escort Shuttle, but he will arrive alone. A single TIE-B from Sword SQD (Player) will escort his rendevous with the Moff's shuttle. Sword-1 will inspect the Moff's shuttle to make sure that this isn't another trap--the Moff had better be on that shuttle. Once their conference is over, and the GA has returned to the Relentless (he can't leave via hyperspace because of the two Interdictors), Operation Drop the Hammer will commence. The rest of Battle Group II will hype in. ISD Challenge, VSD Ravager, and M/FRG Invader will come in on the Moff's left flank, while VSD Stalwart and M/FRG Fogger will come in on the right. Ravager and Invader will begin attacking the Interdictor out on the corner of the formation, while Stalwart and Fogger will do the same on the other side. Challenge will attack the point ship in the formation, the Strike Cruiser, while Relentless opens fire on the Carrack Cruiser. Sword-1 will use its payload of advanced proton torpedoes to help attack the Strike Cruiser and the Carrack Cruiser. The speed, timing, and power of Battle Group II is overwhelming, and those ships that are'nt destroyed turn tail and retreat into the Quarin Sector. Mission 4 - Recon: Locate the Moff's Fleet ------------------------------------------------------------- Battle Group II's orders are now to find the Moff's fleet and annihilate it for its arrogance! One of our probe droids has located a platform in the Atravix system with a small convoy of freighter-class ships has gathered. An element of two TIE/D’s from Crossbow (player) will jump in and inspect the convoy. If the payload is of the military variety, chances are good it’ll lead us to Deunet. Once the convoy has been inspected, the second phase of the op will commence--capturing the platform. This will be done to hopefully obtain some hard evidence regarding the convoy’s destination. A flight of gunboats from Dagger SQD will jump in and aid Crossbow. ATR Jir’quep will do the capturing. Mission 5 - Destroy Moff Deunet's Fleet --------------------------------------------------------- The fleet has been found, and now it's time to destroy it. The Moff's fleet is older, due to its existance way out here in the Quarin Sector. Because of this, the BGCOM has decided to flex our technological might in this mission. Rather than bring in the capital ships and slug it out, Missile Boats from Shield SQD (Player) on the Relentless will be used in this attack. The entire fleet is to be annihilated! ----------------------------------------------------- Battle 79 Medal - Medal of The Initiative Designer - CMDR/BG Lanche/Lance/mFRG Phoenix
