Played on easy with cheats. Way too long of wait in Mission 4 but other than that briefings had information, straightforward goals.

Played on easy with cheats. The 18 mins of waiting in M4 gives this an instant 0 from me. Respect my limited playtime or get a 0.

I think too hard on Hard. Repeately on Mission 2 I would finish the mission, try to close out the secondary objectives and then get destroyed and "captured" nulifying everything I did. Most of the missions required multiple attempts. I would recommend on any difficulty other than Hard.

Well written, well built.
Good story, well executed missions.
Mission 2 can be tough, others are pretty good.

A reasonably easy battle to complete with no serious bugs at all to be found. Tried this on severals levels of difficulty and it was completable on all three but it did not feel like there was a big difference, otherwise a good battle!

This battle is not perfect. But the things it does, it tries to do them well. I played it on hard and there are some tight timers to beat.
The first mission is also a bit daunting if you want to destroy everything. All in all, it's a solid battle. I do recommend flying it and try for getting a good score, to appreciate the battle a bit more.

And enjoyable series of missions - mission 2 is hard and keep you on your toes, as it mission 5 - even on easy I'm not sure how you will could complete all of the secondary goals...

Nice battle w/ a good variation in missions. However it is a bit unbalanced. While most missions are not that hard, mission 2 is very hard. One of those where you have to have a perfect timing and basically have to know what happens next and be in the right place. For mission 5 its hard to get all secondary goals.

A very good set of missions, only let slightly down by what an insanely difficult last mission if you are going for the secondary objectives. Most other missions hit the difficulty balance just right, and it felt like your actions led to a defeat or victory. But the final mission it felt like you needed an insane amount of luck to hit all of the goals. After about 7 tries, I gave up and just decided to complete the primaries and a couple secondarys. Had that final mission not been so frustrating, this battle would have been given a 5.

One of my favourite battles so far. The idea of real event based battle is perfectly developed in the plotline. The missions themselves are excellently laid out and impeccably balanced. Challenging but easy to carry out once you understand how to approach every assignment. This one deserves a bit more than the usual for just a solid, and well created battle where to earn some 5 FCHG points in. Take your time to fly it and enjoy. One of the best creations here in the Mission Compendium.

My favorite battle to date. As mentioned earlier, it's based on a RL historical battle. Plot is clear and engaging, and each mission is unique, challenging, and fun. You couldn't ask for more.

This battle is great. Design of every mission is perfect, only thing I don´t like is long waiting for docking of Container transport with Maltar in mission 4.

The plotline for this mission is great. It's nice to see missions based on historical events. Overall, the balance wasn't bad, but there were a few problems in the mission that caused me to rate it lower. Dea Cam's bug still exists.

Very enjoyable. Mission 4 was kinda boring because of how long it took CTRNS: OHIR to dock, but it was very fun. It was fun destroying "Col. Kess" of Rebel High Command in Mission 5 :P

One of my favorite EH Battles, and based off actual World War II battles (if you bother to read the end of the plotline file). It's good to climb back into the old T/B or GUN once in a while and fight in an actual, realistic combat engagement (where both sides don't throw out billions/trillions of credits' worth of hardware at each combat engagement :-P).

FM/GN James/Aleth I/Wing III/SSSD Sov Before I joined the Emperor's Hammer, I was involved in a battle at a remote outpost of the Empire. Word had yet to reach us of the Emperor's death, and we fought on against the Rebellion despite being heavily outnumbered. This battle is a chronicle of our hard-won victory. The Siege of Maltar Newly arrived on the Nebulon-B frigate Furious, I looked about in some dismay at the squalor surrounding me. Maltar station was, not to put too fine a point on it, a mess. Battered freight containers littered the flight bay, blast marks covered almost every surface, and various starfighters, most of them antiquated, stood about half dismantled. A group of dishevelled personnel, wearing an interesting mix of Imperial uniforms, was occupying itself with patching up a TIE fighter that looked like it had been flown through a force shield several times. Worn looking droids whizzed about in this chaos, chirping to themselves. "General James, is it? Glad you're here." The speaker was a broad-shouldered, balding officer with a moustache. His rank was hidden beneath a lurid scarf tied around his neck. "I'm Rear Admiral Lloyd, chief of station. Come along, lad, we have work to do." Speechless, I picked up my bags and followed this rather bizarre character to a briefing room. Starfighter recognition charts covered the walls, along with holograms of ladies of dubious moral standing. I peered at one of the charts with interest. It showed neither the A-wing nor the B-wing, the Rebels' latest fighters. Admiral Lloyd waved me to a seat. Other pilots trooped in, sat down, and immediately began talking. They looked haggard and dirty. They ignored me, although I stuck out like a sore thumb in my freshly pressed, spotless uniform. I started to wonder what had possessed me to transfer to the "starfighter pilot's paradise", deep in the Terraneo sector. I had a sneaking suspicion that the name had stuck because no one had lived long enough to refute it. "Quieten down, chaps. I'd like to start this briefing by introducing you to General James. He's just come in on the Furious." The other pilots looked at me. Some grinned in a friendly manner, others looked indifferent. Admiral Lloyd fiddled with the controls on the single briefing screen. It came to life in a burst of static, showing a large swarm of green symbols bearing down on a small red one. "Right, you can see from the screen that the Rebels are once again attempting to blast us off the face of the galaxy. Nothing new there. What is new is our intelligence regarding their outpost at Taranto IV." "Pardon me, sir", I said, raising my hand. "Am I flying this mission?" "Of course!", said the Admiral. "Why do you think you're listening to this briefing?" "Er, well, I've only just arrived. I mean, I assumed..." "Don't worry about your kit. I'll have someone stow it in your new quarters. You're on Maltar now, lad. The sooner we get you shooting at Rebels, the better." This five mission battle involves defending Maltar station from the Rebels, who are determined to neutralise it. Mission One: The frigate Furious launches a full squadron of TIE bombers to attack the warships at Taranto IV. You must destroy the Rootha, a carrack cruiser. Rebel defences are light, and they are unprepared for the attack. The starfighters facing you are obsolete types. Mission Two: The incensed Rebels make a heavy attack on Maltar with a wide variety of vehicles, none of them particularly deadly. You must defend the station in your TIE interceptor. Mission Three: Badly needed reinforcements arrive in the form of six TIE Advanced fighters. They must dock with CUV's before they can go into action, however. The Rebels will attack with B-wings to try and destroy the new fighters whilst they are vulnerable. You must stop them in a TIE fighter equipped with shields. Mission Four: Under heavy siege, Maltar is relying on convoy Pedestal to bring in vital supplies. In particular, the container transport Ohir must make it through. In one of the new TIE Advanced fighters, you must thwart a Rebel attack on the convoy. Mission Five: Colonel Kess of the Rebel Alliance is bringing a report to Mon Mothma on the state of the Rebel siege. His liner, the Rex, is part of a convoy of Rebel freighters. You must fly a TIE Advanced to destroy the Rex and the rest of the convoy. A-wings will oppose you. This battle is based on the siege of Malta, from 1941 to 1942. This small Mediterranean island served as a base for the Royal Air Force in its attacks on Rommel's supply routes. Despite intense enemy attacks and all the privation of a siege, Malta held out and decimated the Italian merchant fleet. The first mission recreates the attack by the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm on the Italian port of Taranto. Using obsolete biplane torpedo bombers, the British sank three warships in a matter of minutes. Hence the use of older starfighters on both sides. The second mission is analogous to the many attacks by the Luftwaffe on Malta. Because Malta itself could suffer enormous damage and still keep functioning, I have used a factory station to represent Maltar rather than a weaker space platform. The third mission is inspired by Pierre Clostermann's superb account of a day in Malta in his book Flames in the Sky. Spitfires were flown from the carrier Eagle to Malta to reinforce its air defences. In order that they not be caught on the ground whilst being refuelled and rearmed, an incredible effort was made by the ground crews to get the Spits turned around and airborne in as short a time as possible. In this they were successful. The fourth mission is based on Operation Pedestal, a convoy from Gibraltar to Malta. Despite grievous losses on the way, the remnants managed to limp into Valetta harbour. The tanker Ohio, with its precious aviation fuel, barely made it in one piece. The final mission is not an historical one, but two squadrons of bombers on Malta did regularly attack Axis convoys to great effect.
