Ended up having to use invulnerability on the last two missions, I'm not a great pilot but on easy I feel like it shouldn't be that difficult. Maybe it's just me. Other than that it was a good battle, as someone else stated the last two missions are pretty similar.

The last two missions felt very similar. Overall were okay but a little difficult to complete.

The story is good and the action fun, but the highly specific way you must approach the final mission has to knock this down to at least a 4

For the most part, it's not as good as its TIE Fighter variant (which itself is just OK). In general I'm not a big fan of these conversions, although some time has been taken so it's not just a 1-to-1. It's still an OK battle, even though the strict Order of Operations needed to complete mission 5 (Don't destroy CRV until Dread arrives, destroy ATRs as soon as possible, destroy Escort Shuttle that shows up when DREAD is damaged as soon as possible, don't let friendlies destroy enemy TRNs that show up once DREAD is damaged, don't destroy DREAD too quickly, transports need time to launch) tempts me to grade it harsher

The last mission I had to refly like 20 times until I realised whats wrong.
Normally I'd take adv torps and snipe the CRVs as soon as they hyper in which lets my squadmates take the DREAD right away. The problem is that they destroy it so fast that the TRNs that need to escape don't have time to launch and you can't complete the mission.

short uninspired missions. one of these in which you have to know the exact order in which targets need to be taken out so you can make it in time.

A good battle to start with the IW. The TIE version was a bit more elaborate, but this one does not disappoint. There's a lot of different roles to fly, escort, heavy assault, dogfighting, overall a solid battle to fly.

As an ex-Infiltrator Wing member, I love all the missions revolving around that organisation (especially those from before I joined, when it was its own division). The missions were not particularly inspired, sure, but the storyline is engaging and as part of a larger story arc, it#s a good first part!

I see that there are a lot of complaints about this battle but I particularly enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty fun. I found the missions engaging. I had played this one last year but honestly I think I was drunk when I did it because I do a lot of drunk flying...it’s on my combat record but I don’t remember it. I found a few things odd – how exactly do they know I’m an Imperial if I’m flying an X Wing? Wasn’t that the whole idea behind the Infiltrator Wing? Also, the third mission was quite dull. You essentially hyper to three separate zones, inspect some asteroids, and wait for an ETR to install a listening device. This takes over 10 minutes with very little action. I also noticed that in one mission, some craft enter pointing the wrong way and nearly crash into each other. I think it was mission two. Otherwise I found it fun! It’s blowing up Rebels...who can complain about that?

The battle was mediocre. Missions were rather short and they also need a little patching up here and there. For instance with some AI orders. Some enemy fighters are set to 'escort' a certain freighter. If you attack that freighter, the fighters do NOT engage you before the freighter is destroyed, making the missions rather simple. That is because 'escort' means 'prevent disabling or boarding'. 'Protect' should have been used instead. Now you can easily pick off the fighters first, as they only go into evasive action. In mission 4 I also found it pretty odd to see three CRVs that are guarding a convoy entering the area towards you, while the rest of the convoy came from a totally different angle. And in missions 1 the pirates immediately called you 'Imperial'... kinda odd if the whole idea of IW is to fool everyone into thinking they're with the New Republic. I'm picking on details, I know, but I feel that paying attention to such detail makes the difference between a good and an excellent battle.

At first I did not like it much. But it won be over a bit as I played it. A few missions were a bit to challeging but it was an okay battle.

This battle has been mainly converted from the TIE version, I hardly had time to improve it at that time... expect a refreshed version of this battle soon. UPDATE: the updated version has been submitted to the TAC... wait a bit before the new version is uploaded...

It was an interesting battle...but the last mission was impossible. I had to skip it. Give us B-wings next time and rockets instead of an X-Wing and 4 Rockets. Plus i think the AI on the wingmen should be raised a bit.

Really hard mission, but you could complete it. Except for that last mission. Did the mission 10 times at least and the transports don't show up 90% of the time. I had to tell all my wingmen not to attack that ship or they killed it too quick and the transports never show. Good challenge but that glitch in the last mission kinda killed the fun :(

IW Battle 23 - Infiltrate Rion A 5-mission TIE/XvT/XWA Battle for the Infiltrator Wing by FA Striker (striker@tiecorps.org) ------------------------------ The Rion Confederate is a former Imperial Faction that has joined the New Republic. Grand Admiral Ronin has ordered the Infiltrator Wing to disrupt Rebel activities in the Rion Sector. As we are using Rebel crafts, we will make think Rion leaders of a treason from their pitiful rebel allies. Mission 1 - Get a Home First, we will need a base of operation in the sector; Intel reported us a little pirate base operating in the Eriin System which will be a perfect place to settle our presence there; these pirates have no real interferences with the Rion Confederate, so their "disappearance" won't be noticed. The MC90 Fear will lead the operation in the Rion Sector. Intruder Flight will disable the pirate platform, while Black Squadron will take care of the fighters. We will send an Hammer's Fist ATR to capture the platform as soon as disabled. Mission 2 - Strengthen Positions We have a convoy heading to our new base, in order to strengthen our position. Your mission will be to make sure the Transports reach the platform, and that the Freighter Supply delivers the needed materials to repair the platform shields. Enforcer Squadron will be in charge of securing the area. Some pirates may be back from a raid on a rebel convoy, if they show up, destroy them after we capture any interesting stuff. Mission 3 - Hacking Party In order to destabilize the Rebel presence in the Rion Sector, we first need to collect information relative to the Rion Confederate. We are sending squadrons in recon missions throughout the sector. Ares Flight III will be in charge of a frequented nav point in the Eriin System. Three asteroids are surrounding the area, and we believe a Rion communication system can be found on one of them. Your mission will be to inspect the asteroids, and to protect our technician team which will set a listening device on the comm asteroid. Be also on the lookout for any valuable ship which could be captured. Mission 4 - Shoot'em Up The Rebel officer captured in the last mission revealed us the location of an incoming Rebel convoy in the Rion sector. We will make sure the convoy never reach its destination. Intel will then send false information through the Rebel comm systems to make them think of a Rion treason. Black Squadron has been assigned to the complete destruction of the convoy. If you can identify the ships first, that would be good too. Mission 5 - Bringing Hell Destroy a Rion convoy, and bring hell in the relationship between the Rion Confederate and the New Republic. We will use special identification code Intel gathered from the Rebels, and will destroy a whole convoy... just let a few specific transports to report the attack to the Rion HQ. From the information we got from our listening device, some Rion Command Staff member should be aboard a Dreadnaught. Killing him in the assault would be perfect, and would surely cancel the alliance between the two forces. ____________________________________________________________________________ Battle created by FA Striker (striker@tiecorps.org) for the Infiltrator Wing THIS LEVEL IS NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY.
