Poor mission design. You are required to protect the gunboats from fighters while they attack the factory. The mission requirements do not state needing to destroy the Frigate, but the frigate is part of "X-wing Red". It is on a collision path with the Star Destroyer, so if you are waiting for that last pack of X-wings to show up, the frigate will collide with the ISD and fail the mission.
Lots of squadrons to fight against in this one and then also having to take out a Platform and a Frigate. All while not having warheads. Having plenty of wingmen helps, but the unshielded Interceptors make the Frigate runs fairly painful. All together though still enjoyable to fly.
There are many problems with this mission. Grey Wolf for starters is shooting at its own fighters. Maybe they were causing problems while abord the Grey Wolf, who knows. But this isn't a Frodo mission. There is also an issue about the event trigger of the FG Xwing Red.
Terrible mission. It starts pro isingly, but then sinking a FRG in an unshielded T/I without warheads is pure folly, and GUNs assisting can't shoot at all. Eventually some competent Gunboats with warheads showed up to sink the FRG and the otherwise never showing up X-W Red. Plain weird. Avoid it.
I wonder how others played this, and claim it was only a few minutes. After destroying the enemy and getting shot at by the GW, I had to sit there and wait for the lone incompetent Gunboat to attack the enemy FRG. I ended up destroying it to spawn the next flight. Unfortunately by then the FRG and GW had started to occupy the same waypoint in space, but that did win the mission as the FRG lost it in the crash. Weird mission.
This is a challenging mission if you play on hard. It's nothing special, but it's fun nevertheless.
Yeah, i agree. very short and not difficult. it took me even less then 4 mins to complete it.
If you want a short mission, choose this. It was easy too. It only took me 4 minutes to complete.
