It was fun flying this again so long after its creation. Not my best work, but still. And to those of you who (erroneously and stupidly) decide to tackle this on Hard: do not forget that you have been warned...

Simple and straightforward, that's how I like it. Not sure why that CRS was there since it wasn't doing much, and why that E/S was sitting there like a dead duck is a mystery. Still, without a dozen A-wings with advanced missiles going for it as I've seen before, this is quite an enjoyable one.

Enjoyable little mission this. It's simple, straight to the point, and the difficulty balance is great for this level. Storywise it makes no sense, but when it's set up correctly, that's not a big deal.

Another good mission, flawless, easy to complete, except for one thing. Give me some flippin idea what I'm supposed to do. A mission goal that is a line from a Iron Maiden song that is completely irrelevant to the mission is not my idea of fun, it's my idea of lame. Docking 3 pts for that.

Standard shoot-em-all up mission. The only downside is your warheads: you get regular, not advanced missiles (I'll never understand why you would do that if you put the player in a TIE Advanced), and they are utterly useless long-range since even a Y-wings is able to evade them, not to mentuion the Y-wings have 200% shields so you need all your missiles to take out just one of them. Still, quite enjoyable if you wanna do some dogfighting.

Pretty easy mission. Plenty of warheads for a change, so taking out the enemy target is easy peasy. You can make it harder on yourself by going after all the enemy fighters, or make it a quick and easy victory. Your choice.

You'd think a Rebel Manufacturing plant would be heavily guarded. But nope, just a few X-wings to deal with. Well, it does make for a quick and easy mission, and easy missions are a good thing when you fly on EASY. Thumbs up!

Not sure what this one is about. Looked like just a big frag fest with having to take out lots of big stuff with lots of rockets. The creator threw some hostile MIS and T/D in the mic (Rebels never actually had those I hope), but if the mission is too hard if the enemy T/D are there, don't try to make it easier by taking off their shields. Use something else. Major design flaw.

Technically speaking this battle is flawless. No bugs. Which is good since not-technically speaking it's a mess. Shuttles that require 8 minute docking times, an unshielded TIE against a TIE Defender with advanced missiles, and a Dreadnaught doicng a docking op with a Star Destroyer. These are all things you should know NOT to do in a battle when you take how-to-create-a-mission 101. Such a shame, because the missions lend themselves to fit within a nice storyline. Once someone writes it. Giving it a 2 because there's no annoying bugs.

This is a pretty easy win for most of us, even on hard it's very doable. The one thing I don't get is why all your friendlies, including the player's own flight, are returning home when the mission is not complete. Fortunately I caught it in time so I had more than 1 fighter to deal with the issue but still.... annoying.

I wonder how others played this, and claim it was only a few minutes. After destroying the enemy and getting shot at by the GW, I had to sit there and wait for the lone incompetent Gunboat to attack the enemy FRG. I ended up destroying it to spawn the next flight. Unfortunately by then the FRG and GW had started to occupy the same waypoint in space, but that did win the mission as the FRG lost it in the crash. Weird mission.

Free missions are notoriously hard to give a feeling of why you do what you do. This mission did not even attempt that. No storyline at all, just shooting up a load of enemy fighters. Still, no bugs, easy to complete for an FCHG point.

Nice mission. Get your priorities straight, and it's pretty easy to complete. Nice to see something that's actually easy to do on easy. You still need to do some work to prevent getting blown to bits, but that's all in the game.

Unfortunately, if I have to resort to setting unlimited waves on EASY in order to win, the mission has a serious problem. in this case: too many enemy fighters with advanced missiles, incompetent wingmen and a way too triggerhappy platform. This would be good on HARD but absolutely needs work to be actually easy on EASY.

Standard mission, and it's great to fly a TIE Fighter again. The shields help out. The only gripe is the mission goal that the enemy FRG needs to be destroyed. It hypered out on me, the mission didn't fail. When the CRV hypered out, mission status was complete. Bogus mission goals like this are bad.

Pretty standard mission. Some X-Ws, and Y-Ws that you protect the GW from. Unfortunately it has a major design flaw. Unless you're near the CRV when the ATRs show up, you don't stand a chance as you can't cross the distance in time before they destroy the CRV. Pretty much means you have to abandon the fight in time. Mission that require you to be in a specific place at a specific time are not a good thing.

A nice battle, it's flawless in its creation and actually easy to complete on easy. It's held back a bit by repetitiveness (protect CRV several times, and CRV docking sith something every other time), and the dockings cause a little too much waiting time. Not a bad one at all.

This battle started out great. Nice missions, no problems. And then the mission creator screwed it all over with that last one. Pitting the player against the M/FRT The Luggage isn't an issue. But not giving the player warheads to help, and that idiotic time limit make the mission nothing short of frustrating.

What can I say? I hate flying the IES. That said, I like this battle. Nice plotline, no problems, and well balanced. On easy, it's actually easy. I do wish more battles were like this. Go fly it.

I went into this one thinking I was going to stay positive after flying some crap before. Unfortunately, sometimes it's not to be. First you get dumped into crappy fighters and for some reason you start off at 0 shields which is nonsense. Then there's endless waiting and to top it off you have to disable a CORT while in a TRN. But you can't because there's GUNboatds out there firing rockets at it, killing the CORT instead of disabling it. I felt like throwing my PC out the window. Please fix this crap.

Contrary to other reviewers I thoroughly detest this battle. The A-9B is not suitable to be flown by the player as it is way too weak against the opponents given. And that's on easy. In M5, the unshielded TUG passes within firing range of a STRKC, luckily on easy you can take out its guns, but that won't work on medium or hard. In the end I just resorted to unlimited waves, any battle that takes me well over 3 hours to complete on easy is a bad one.

Pretty decent battle altogether, although I never will understand why some people have you fly crap like a Cloakshape fighter. The whole battle flow is utterly destroyed though by the 5th mission. First you wait for 6 minutes for one transport after the other to dock, then it's a few minutes of dealing with enemy warships, and then another 6 minutes of waiting. Such a letdown. Not sure what was meant by a 'capital ship battle' .... I saw no cap ships fighting each other, not to mention the part where XvT doesn't do this unless you pratically put the caps on top of each other. Which is bad mission design anyways :)

The premise of this is nice, and I would enjoy this battle just for that. Escept that there are 4 missions flown when I write this, and I've already clocked over an full hour of waiting, picking my nose, doing the dishes and palpy knows what else, sitting around doing nothing waithing for one freighter after the other to crawl by on its 10 minute trek from point A to point B. Do not fly this unless you enjoy boring yourself to death, or unless you really really really really need them FCHG points.

I found this battle to be tedious and repetitive. Yes, I can see why the other reviews might go easy, it's rather easy and quick. Still, it's three missions of the exact same thing (player is in a T/A, you're up against some enemy squadrons and have to destroy 75% of each, no missiles, no beam, no countermeasures, it's exactly the same). And then mission 4 promises something different by throwing in two Rebel frigates to destroy. Without any Bombers in the mission. Fortunately you don't have to do much since the mission creator screwed that one up and has the frigates and your ISD all converge on the exact same waypoint. Frigates flying through an ISD makes short work of them making this an easy win, but if you're just a tad unlucky they take the ISD with them and you can try again. Sorry, a big fat 0 from me.

Any chance this battle has of being 'decent' was completely and utterly obliterated by the 3rd mission. While I do like the occasional mission that requires you to blast a number of rebel starfighters, this is nuts. Even on easy, you are faced with having to destroy endless waves of fighters (63 to be killed before you win), and that goes up to T/As and T/Ds.
To be fair, missions 1 and 2 were good enough to not make this a 0.
