So, just to address this right away, the story makes little to no sense. The mission briefings are at least clear enough as to what you're going to do, and why you're doing it, but that really means nothing still. The mechanics of the battle are mostly dogfighting, and the last two are strictly dogfighting. The last two are, in fact, the same set up as the ones before it, so at least it's easy to remember where you need to go and what spawns where. Can't really recommend this for anything but points, but I can't really give it a low score either, it's not the worst.
A decent battle, short at four missions. I think there was a lot of thought put into the layout, but some crucial details were missed; for example, several missions included a task of not letting the SSD be destroyed... but it was never in any danger as the bombers were busy dogfighting. Worth playing, but maybe not re-playing.
I felt underwhelmed with these battles. The first mission was well set up, but then the quality of subsequent missions seemed to take a step backwards. However, the missions fly by fast, and it's always good seeing an SSSD in a mission!
I played on Easy. These aren't great missions, honestly. The AI is so braindead on Easy, on both sides, that they almost never kill each other. The last mission is especially bad at this. There's nothing special about these at all.
We somehow ... smuggled this BoP Battle into the compendium. It is an ok storyline, but it is half-baked. As others already pointed out the fighters suffer from incomplete orders and the placement of some craft feels a bit off and irrelevant. So, ok cool factor of seeing the SSD but that's about it really.
pretty good battle, i played this as part of rtf 21. i played on easy with cheats. mission 3 nearly completed it self and mission 4 was a good endless star fighter battle. took a while for me to get 75% of the fighters destroyed
Mostly dogfighting. It wasn't bad at all and it mostly consisted of quick and fast missions. Story? Well I'm not really sure what the story was as I flew it but either way it was entertaining to be backed up by a SSD.
This battle was well conceived but could have been so much better, with just a little more work on the details. It gives the feeling that is the initial mission copied 4 times and then tinkered to meet different developments. For example, you always start in the same sequence in almost every mission, making you doubt if you really had selected the right one or some you had already completed. The flying itself is not bad at all, although some flight orders have to be corrected. In some dogfighting mission, the enemies just fly around in total nonchalance, while being slaughtered one by one. And the final mission, although well-planned ends in just some minor skirmishes, when having 3 capital ships put together it could have turned out into a nice space barrage between the cruisers and the SSSD. But, as I said before, it's a good solid mission, worth the points and some careless, fast, easy fun.
Mission three and four were nearly identical in my opinion with the exception of the immortal escort shuttle in one of the missions. We had the lemming starfighters that would launch and fly in a straight line while being shot to pieces. Over all it faces the issues of many early missions but it wasn't terrible.
Not a real hard battle. Some downsides are that the E/S was invincible for a couple missions, and the fighters flew in straight lines for the longest time exiting the hangars. Sheesh does it take that long to fly out of a hangar bay.
Not very expiring Battle, which did Contain a lot of technical errors - Maybe if bugs were removed and Rebel forces were improved, the Battle would then become a nice challenge.
Not a terrible battle. I just disliked the fact that the Escort Shuttle is invulnerable for the first missions along with the fact that in mission 2 I beleive, the enemy fighters are locked into "Exiting Hanger" and fly straight until you shoot at them. Un fortuneatly, they start a few klicks out and you gotta chase them. Not a half-bad storyline at least.
Good battle nice practice if your into dogfighting all in all not diverse But very fun
In some of the missions the enemy fighters don't do anything but fly real straight, not a big challenge.
Nothing special. In mission 1 you have to be fast.

I think the AI on some of these was off, for two missions most of the enemies launched and flew in a straight line while I killed them.

overall: player startpoint needs to be adjusted so the SSD doesn't smash the player craft.
M1: PLT has starfighter orders, T/A attack PLT, GUN kill container before it can be boarded and cannot be stopped, so targets of T/A and GUN must be changed
