Battle Reviews

Many bugs, balance issues and questionable craft loadouts plague this one. In the last mission you are no longer given the T/A to fly in the superiority role, only a T/I. If you choose this role you have to kill 60 fighters with 2 waves of craft, all with no shields, and then will have to destroy 4 capital ships and a station on lasers. If you pick the Gunboat, you have to dogfight 6 squadrons of fighters while conserving your ammo for the ships and stations. More craft waves/better craft were needed. The AI also behaves strangely, often firing missiles without a full lock. There are also zero in-flight messages throughout the entire battle.

Mission one was too hard to play on anything but Easy. At Medium no less than 5 ships would be firing at you at the same time. Even when switching to a ship that has shields (not the default), it was too much. After that mission left a sour taste in my mouth, the rest of it was played on easy. Based on the top-ten scores, few (if any) have played this on hard, which means it is an unscalable battle and therefore poor design. I don't recommend it.

Varied flyable options, variable (in the finale) loadout options, and mixed objectives in what I think is probably going to be a very replayable set of missions.

This is a very straightforward set of missions. Nothing fancy story-wise, just plain old "shoot the bad guys" with one exception of a "disable and capture" mission. Fun, quick, quite easy, but at the same time not quite at the same level as some of TC's best missions out there.

Simple but fun set of missions, which were enjoyable to play and provided good experience for pilots :)

Straightforward missions in this battle. I enjoyed the final battle the most; it was a large scale attack on half a dozen large capital ships. Love playing these missions as a gunboat and I think you won't have too many issues completing this mission set.

Decent battle with a relatively coherent storyline. Scoring 3/5 just means go ahead and play it, you will probably enjoy your time :)

Challenging to the point of being very hard at times. Swarms of fighters to dogfight and lots of caps to sink. One major feature is the possibility of a wide choice of fighters, GUN, unshielded T/I or T/F, to a more deadly shielded T/A. This helps a lot in terms of tactical approach and variety of roles, improving the gaming experience. Long and perhaps demanding, but worth a try.

I played on Easy. I liked these missions a decent amount. I think my favorite part is that you have a choice between ships and roles in every mission. I honestly can't speak too much to how the other ships work, but I played a Gunboat the entire time and had fun killing capital ships.

Two stars for the big battles that offer a nice scenery. It is just unsure what your task in all of this is. Just stick around and wait it out.

It's spammy, lots of craft to kill. Kind of fun, but also poorly designed. Overall there are many issues with orders and waypoints, and goal designations prompting officer voice lines after every fighter kill. The first three missions are manageable on hard difficulty due to craft having low baseline AI levels. It's all well and good until the last mission. Way too many starships to destroy, not enough ordnance, and a weak craft choice (gunboat) that makes the fighter screen too difficult to deal with. The decoy beam is technically viable here, with enough time and patience that is.
But this mission doesn't seem to play out as intended, even on medium difficulty. Probably designed for easy instead.

Not a bad campaign. Could do with a few tweaks here and there, otherwise fine. Recommend you fly it and see for yourself.

VERY GOOD! The last two missions were incredible with the Imperial, Rebel, Tharn, and alien forces all in a battle! Good work!

Great Battle, The first demanded good situational awareness and the second was like an old Zarin mission in TIE fighter, very good, I liked it.

Player seems unable to control the missions and a few other way point bugs. low score on this battle. Great battle for sit on the side line.

The battle idea / story is fine. But the combat missions need to be completely redone - removing all the little bugs (Waypoint setting).

alright battle nothing special about it just a bit bland really

Very nice battle. I've realy enjoyed this one.

Battle Bug Reports

Mission 1: ISD Intrepid has no orders, does not fire on craft that are in range. Platform/5 Daedalus has the same issue, disregards all targets within range. Transport group Rho has circle and evade orders instead of go home orders. They also have trouble landing in the hangar as a result. No inflight messages of any kind are in this mission. No mission complete or mission failed messages either.

Mission 2: Interdictor Holdover has no orders. T/B Xi and Sigma have Torpedoes but have orders to prioritize starfighters over starships. No inflight messages of any kind are in this mission. No mission complete or mission failed messages either.

Mission 3: EH ATR's attempt to capture craft that are actively shooting back at them instead of trying to disable them first. CRV Endor and CRS Freedom have orders to wait the return of Yellows instead of Greens. PLT/6 and Fac/1 have orders to circle through waypoints even though they are stations and cannot move. ISD Intrepid and FRG Ravage have no orders. FRG Bile, Dread Torture and STRKC Pain have orders to Kamikaze Rebel starships but their throttle is set to 100%, meaning they will never be able to hit their targets. No inflight messages of any kind are in this mission. No mission complete or mission failed messages either.

Mission 4: No inflight messages of any kind are in this mission. No mission complete or mission failed messages either. ISD Intrepid has no orders. Y-Wing Red and T/B Lion have Heavy Rockets but prioritize starfighters over starships.

general: enemy fighters need to get rid of the primary/secondary target flag. M3: after the ATRs capture the enemy craft, they start attacking the (captured, thus imperial) FAC

Mission 1: ISD Intrepid does not fire on enemy craft.

Mission 2: Questionable gameplay decision - Enemy VSD Torment carries several squadrons above the usual amount for a Victory-class. Why not make it an ISD?

Plot:
The Emperor's Hammer had been a pain in Admiral Dink Tre'fal's side for too long. The Bothan stroked his whiskers as he contemplated his plan. His plan was simple, to strike at the EH and specifically the TIE Corp. It would soon begin. An attack on their precious training center the Daedalus would teach them who the real power in the universe was.....

Deep in Emperor's Hammer space, standing in his ready room on the ISD Intrepid, Rear Admiral Pel contemplated the pilot records he had just read. A good crop of students. This should be a simple mission...jump into system, pick up the graduates from the Daedalus, and leave...only RA Pel's Dark Jedi senses told him to expect more. He would deploy his starfighters as cover...he would speak with his men through his Dark Jedi senses...he would be victorious.......
