This mission was incredibly annoying. Step one: kill a corvette that is trying to kill you specifically when you're in an unshielded tie. Since it's focusing on you, it just constantly turns towards you so there is no way to safely get behind it. You just have to keep running away and taking pot shots. Then you have to kill a dozen z95 and xwings in your unshielded tie. Very annoying on hard, as if they focus you you have nowhere to run and will die quickly. The whole thing is at least quick, but it was not fun.
Fast and furious. The humour is the usual from Beef's creations and shenanigans, but ripped a laugh or two while reading the briefings and in the mission. The mission is quite simple but brutal as the unshielded coffins will fall apart in the blink of an eye, and attacking a CRV with starfighter orders, requires a certain skill. Good to have a quick mission before lunch. Unless it's for a competition and the swearing will intensify as the player is forced to repeat the mission several times because wingmen are crashing and getting killed all the time.
Unfortunately, this mission has not aged well. Obviously from an era when humour was different and people would accept needing to retry a mission a dozen or more times before finishing it even on Easy, this is no longer worth the time and effort for the one FCHG point it will get you. Gets a 1 purely for not being bugged.
It IS fun, albeit somewhat lazily thrown together. That was my first impression. The funny thing is, even the creator admits it. However, flying in a TIE Fighter it is a viable mission for it and must admit highly enjoyable. Hence why it gets a 4. It is a very short mission and I encourage everyone to fly it.
I had fun with this one, though it took me a few tries to beat it. The most hillarious moment I had was when I was a sitting duck for two minutes in my little TIE, squirming and twisting for all I was worth, surviving only to be blasted to bits two seconds after I started moving. :P
Short but very sweet. It's one of the best so far that I've played of TIE-Free's because it simply conveys some of the almost comical hopelessness of being a little man strapped inside a coffin with a mounted turret... I mean, the heroic TIE Fighter. Amusing, and well done.
One of the Nicest Missions I've Played. Short & Quick.. not to boring & Action Packed. Keeps the GOOD Pilots on their toes!
Neat mission, but if I see it in a competition one more time I think I'm gonna scream...;) Seriously, though, it is a good, simple mission with enough tricks to make it interesting and decent balance.
Yeah, I give it a five. Nothing wrong with it, no bugs, not murderously hard. Nice, fun mission that was enjoyable to play. I liked the goofy briefing/debriefing (esp. the mission failure debriefing where both the FO and Cloaked Guy are rejoicing in your death). A re-enacted battle was a cool idea, too. Fighting in good ol' Tie Fighters was great. Too many blasted battles/missions out there using a TA or TD.
I loved this mission briefing was great and the mission was easy too =)
hmm... quite good. keeps adrenaline on high level.. fantastic climate. briefning and debriefning were fantastic.
I perfectly agree with VA Ari. Cool mission!
It's a nice mission, good practice for shooting down fighters. The briefing and post-mission text is pretty funny too ;)
There are currently no open bug reports for this battle.
