Meh, its ok. Use of EU craft is typical for early works.
Can be done fast is required. Play then move on.

It's a straightforward battle that suffers from repetitive tedium as much of it has you focusing down capital ships with little variety.
My fifty-fourth battle in the TIE Corps.

Pretty straight forward battle ... see ship blow up ship not really a lot to say about it to be honest, fairly quick missions all in all

Laser grinding of cap ships. Plenty of that. It is extremely boring.

Pretty straight forward mission, towards the end you disable the platform to let atr capture. played this during rtf 21 and recommend for quick missions. Otherwise prepare to shoot down capital ships

A very simplistic mission that involves a lot of flying into areas and blowing capital ships up. This is not made easy with some poor missile selection - I'd recommend anyone playing ups to rockets. If you need a spam mission for RtF or similar this is a great contender for easy points.

Dry, not much going on besides blowing up cap ships. Not much story, a handful of fighters, but mostly just putting rockets into rebel ships.

Even blowing up cap ships gets borin when done in this quantity. The T/DR is nice fr five seconds, until suddenly beating 4 MonCals becomes easier than brushing your teeth. Then again, te battle has potential. Now for a storyline...

Crap. That's the short version. The first mission actually isn't that bad, but then it gets worse and worse. The second is the one featuring the TIE Dragon. A fleet of seven rebel cap ships and eight fighters to protect it... how stupid is that? Of course, the mission had to be made this way in order to be beatable in a TIE Dragon. Which only shows what an incredibly lousy craft that is. Mission 3 is basically "destroy all this stuff flying around". Too bad the designer wasn't familiar with the concept of craft limits in TIE. If you time it correctly, only unnecessary imperial craft are concerned, but it really shouldn't be the players job to take care of that. There is also a good deal of cap ship crashing and some flight groups with really strange (not to say stupid) arrival conditions. Mission 4 violates the craft limit again. Then there are transports exiting hyperspace and crashing right into cap ships, fighters crashing into their targets, assault transports just doing nothing, and TIE Fighters entering from hyperspace. Oh, and the mission goals don't match the briefing at all. You don't have to protect shuttles, but destroy a Calamari cruiser. In mission 5 (a somewhat standard PLT capture mission), there are two passenger liners that have fighter orders and go after the player. This must be the single most ridiculous thing I have ever seen in a mission. And once again there's an assault transport which doesn't seem to know why it has entered the scene at all. Judging the battle overall, I don't see a continuous storyline. OK, there's a lot of cap ships to blow up, but why are the Hast Shipyards scattered over five scenarios? I also don't get why this battle is a CAB. OK, sure, there are some ship names and inflight messages hinting at the DB and Intel being involved. However, neither the briefings (which are simplisstic, to say it nicely) nor the missions themselves explain why. It would be more fun with an actual storyline. I also find it remarkable that, although this battle is crammed with capital ships, not a single one of them carries starfighters. All of them enter from hyperspace (even those that don't have hyperdrives). Didn't the designer know how to set a mothership or what? As this battle is from 1995, that could very well be the case. And I know that, considereing its age, I'm being pretty hard on it. But today is today and if someone would ask me why he should play this battle, I'd have no answer. It's just bad.

Actually not too bad, I kinda enjoyed it. But aren't CAB battles supposed to be longer? :P

Hmm... This one could use some a bit of tweeking. Possibly a full remake of some missions. The PLT in the last mission seems usually powerful. TIE Dragon in mission 3 is fun to fly however even if you have struggle with patches.

Throughout: Briefings are either one-page or have no animations at all. The goals are not explained, craft are not identified, friendly craft tasks are not shown.
Mission 1: Destroying Corvette Gold Group appears as both a primary and secondary goal. TIE Defender Delta 2 designation is used twice in the same flight group.
Mission 2: Rebel capital ships seem to ignore the player craft, even when it is stationary (thus an easy target) near them. MC80 cruiser Goliath has badly positioned waypoints or the wrong type of flight order, causing it to rotate on the spot erratically.
Mission 3: Rebel Star Destroyers ignore the player craft. Friendly starfighters repeatedly crash into their targets (this wiped out the entire first wave). FRG Kessel and ISD Colossus's flight paths cause them to clip over each other (a near miss).
Mission 4: Two Imperial MUTRs sit there doing nothing the entire battle. If their orders are to repair the Lichtor V if it is disabled, why not have them arrive when that happens? There are also two Rebel ATRs doing the same, presumably waiting for the Lichtor to be disabled - again, illogical orders. The Rebel B-wings don't use their ion cannons much when the Lichtor V's shields are down.
Mission 5: Gunboat group Iota destroys craft that are to be captured.

ASSAULT ON THE HAST SHIPYARDS The Fleet Commander herein presents the first Combined Arms Battle (CAB I) for the Fleet in which three elements of the Emperor's Hammer participate. There will be specific tasks (i.e. Missions) the Emperor's Hammer. The Hammer's Fist Stormtroopers have been included in CAB I as well. However, since the Hammer's Fist currently doesn't have a stable game platform for missions (we're working on it....), the HF has been written into the plotline. Award of the Hast Combined Arms Battle Medal (See below) will be contingent upon completion of the individual group's mission goals (i.e. finish the requirements/missions of your organization and you receive the CAB I Battle Medal). Presented below is the Battle Plotline for the Assault on Hast Shipyards Combined Arms Battle submitted by the Fleet Commander, Grand Admiral Ronin (FC/GA Ronin/CF-1/SSD Avr). Each specific Stage Author is also credited below. Hopefully, the Assault on Hast Shipyards Battle will serve as a blueprint for future joint operations. In the battle, 20 Rebel Corvettes, 5 Nebulon-B Frigates and 7 Mon Calamari MC80s were destroyed! The Rebel losses numbered in the thousands! The Imperial Security Bureau estimates that it may take as long as 5-10 years for the Rebels to recover their losses from the Hast Shpyards defeat. Also, the ability of the New Republic to field new starships and repair existing ones has been greatly impaired. Consequently, it is anticipated that the Empire has gained some time to rebuild the Imperial Fleet destroyed at Endor. The assault on Hast has been a MAJOR success for the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet! Endor has been avenged... Stage I - Assault on Cerberus Platform (GA Ronin) The following series of three missions represent the Emperor's Hammer assault on one of the three manufacturing platforms that comprise the Hast Shipyards. Mission 1: EH sends in recon units to size up the Rebel Fleet at the Shipyards. The recon squadron will consist of Delta Squadron supported by Pi Squadron for long range support...This could entail taking out perimeter fighter defenses and possibly long range probes...In addition, a Rebel Perimeter Listening Post must be destroyed so the main Platforms can not be warned of the Hammer's approach vector... Mission 2: Forward elements of the EH surprise and engage the Corvettes and MC80 Star Cruisers sent from Hast to attack the EH...Fly the TIE Dragon in her maiden combat flight with Dragon Squadron and take out the bulk of the Hast Defense Fleet (HDF) by complete surprise...The HDF was sent to intercept and delay the Hammer until Rebel reinforcements could be sent to the Hast System. The Mon Cal MC80s and CRVs will only be able to launch a handful of Y-Wings to stop the surprise attack by the ISD Vanguard... Mission 3: Destroy the Cerberus I PLT!...Assault and destroy the FAC Platform, Cerberus I and the two captured ISDs (Adjudicator and Accuser, renamed Liberator and Emancipator)!...Identify and disable the Millenium Falcon with the Rebels Han Solo and Chewbacca on board. They are under orders to return Rebel Scientists and Lando Calrissian safely to the New Republic Provisional Government Headquuarters on Coruscant...One or more fleeing ships will have escaping Rebels which must be captured...The captured research scientists will provide the location of a hidden Rebel research center where a new Rebel weapon, "Archangel", is being developed... Stage II - Capture Archangel (LG Sths Tor) The capture of several Rebel research scientists and their subsequent interrogation on board the Lichtor V revealed plans for a new Rebel weapon...These two missions will be run my Members of the Dark Brotherhood (TIE Fighter Missions)... Mission 1 The EH Strike on the Hast Shipyards has provided some unexpected dividends. Rebel officers and Techs were captured and are being brought to the Lichtor V for questioning. These prisoners MUST get through to the Lichtor. There will be no excuses! Expect heavy Rebel resistance. They will in all probability make an attempt to rescue the prisoners. Don't let this happen! The usual Rebel fighters will probably be encountered. Be on the lookout for anything unusual. If in doubt, inspect it before blowing it up! We can use all the information you can gather. You will be in a Tie Defender for this mission. Good Luck. Mission 2 The questioning of the prisoners was most profitable ( and enjoyable). We have determined the location of a secret Rebel research platform (the PLT Courageous) in a nearby system. You will go in and disable the platform so a strike force from the Dark Brotherhood, supported by the Hammer's Fist, can capture the facility. This is an important mission. The Rebels are working on some secret weapons and the information may be on this platform. Be advised that the platform's weapons systems are active. You will be flying the Phalanx Gunboat for this mission. The usual Rebel craft can be expected. Protect the boarding teams and the platform after its capture. As before keep your eyes open for any Rebel ships jumping in system, investigate them and then disable them for capture. We want all the Rebels in system!
