I flew this as part of Raise the Flag competition 2021. Overall, the battle seemed straightforward with no major hang-ups. There is not much to say about it. It was fun but the battle did not contain any elements that makes it stand out from nearly every other battle you have ever flown.
A really entertaining battle here, up until the last mission which involved destroying a number of platforms that do not fire back - you essentially sit with your trigger taped down for 10-15 minutes. I think a late edit that see's some heavy reinforcements would be beneficial and is what stops this getting a 5 in my view.
This was a solid 3 battle until the final mission where it's just hold down fire until the platforms are destroyed. It took me so long to take them out that I had one of my wingmen crash in to one of the platforms. They're all easy though, so if you have some time on your hands and need one quickly save for the last bit, give it a go.
Extremely silly, yet fun storyline. Really creatively done and I enjoyed every little bit about it. The missions weren't hard but they were just well written. Absolutely great experience and highly recommended.
I played on Easy. Another battle where you play a T/A and mostly kill a bunch of starfighters. There's some variation to the missions, but it's not always for the better. In M4, you have to let the Shuttle finish docking before killing it or you'll lock out the mission. In M5, the Platforms don't shoot at you on Easy, so you just have to spend 5-10 minutes shooting them with lasers. It's not particularly fun. The rest of the battle was decent enough.
Flawed yet excellent at the same time. I like the story, even if it's not a very serious one. I like how Frodo uses the pieces. The execution, I am just not sure if he tested it adequately. Or if he did, it must be that he likes to torture the EH pilots ;) Make no mistake, it is a good battle, but you may want to strangle Frodo by the end of it.
This battle is one of the gems Frodo is used to throw at us. The plotline is original, comedic and very well-written. The missions have the most extravagant names on Flight Groups, even some encrypted funny slur here and there, and what's more, a lot of quotes from Back to the Future. The only black spot that prevents this one from a higher score in my opinion, is the last mission, where your T/As are under gunned for taking 8 PLTs with just a standard load of rockets for each ship. A reloading craft or some assisting GUNs would have made this mission perfect and less finger soaring. Do not miss this one.
An average battle, containing both good and bad. Balance is passable on medium difficulty, but terrible on hard. A bit too many fighters in the first two missions leads to a reliance on time-consuming standoff tactics. The second mission is the worst kind of escort mission, which you have to protect a dumb AI fighter through battle. That gets even dumber on hard. It's tricky on medium, and requires extreme cheese tactics on hard. Mission 3 is quite fun, easily the highlight of the battle, followed by the final mission which would be decent if there weren't 7 platforms to kill. A 'warp rift' could've been made with fewer platforms or different craft. I don't recommend this for a score attack, but the missions are generally fast and simple on medium or easy. No bugs and otherwise enjoyable to fly.
I didn't like this mission much. The storyline was pretty predictable. The fights may push your limits, since you have to fight enemy fighters and prevent the Y-Wings from taking down your VSD. I enjoyed the challenge of that, but it soon becomes repetitive. The last mission is a complete waste of time, fighting pirates and protecting your VSD and then taking out several disabled platforms (your wingmen may crash while they're strafing them), and consider that a Tie Advanced can only carry 8 heavy rockets...
I always enjoy Frodo's original plots, but being assigned to fly his battles all the time lately is making fchg rank increases exceptionally time intensive. Suggestion for players of this battle-put a rubberband on the trigger when you get to the platforms.
Hmm... I just played 4 Frodo battles in a row (XvT TC 51-54), and I must say... there's some talent there. I might suggest brushing up on the spelling, though... fairly atrocious. }:c) "Entrence," "Sparticus," "Gard," and so on... However, this one was quite good, and I liked the idea... The last mission was somewhat redundantly long... just half the platforms would most certainly cause the rift to collapse, or the cap ships could come and help, or SOMEthing to keep us from having to laser 4 platforms to death.
This is a "nice" battle. I say "nice" because it is really not that great. Most of all, the problem lies with the platforms, which have an overwhelming desire to die, and never fire back at the player. Other than that, the missions are weel structured into the story and the story itself is kind of funny... Frodo deserves to be on this one, for making so many good battles.
Very good plot that i actually wanted to read. Though there are some things with the time rift, what if the avengers saw themselves? :) Very fun battle
would have been a 5 if the last mission would have a bit more, uhm, action :) Cool Battle Frodo :)
Evidently Frodo is getting much better at mission creation, because this one flowed smoothly, and the plotline was a lot of fun! I have to admit that there are times when I've considered killing Frodo myself for some of the battles he's created. LOL
Not a bad set of missions, i really liked killing the Frodo clone & the traitor;p. This one would be fun to play over.

Throughout: Platform names are misspelled as 'Entrence' instead of 'Entrance'.
Mission 4: Goal to destroy 75% of enemy fighters does not show as complete until 90% are destroyed.
