Battle Reviews

Mission 01: Reconnaissance 3/5
Enjoyable 'inspect and capture the cargo' type mission, with additional targets to capture. No bugs to report, however friendly fighters could do with either 'go home' orders when they've done their part, or 'waypoints' for them to patrol, as all 3 wings clump up and circle the same spot once enemy is neutralised.

Mission 02: Delivery 3/5
An interesting mix of inspections, capital and starfighter combat, let down by the railroaded 'invincible' ATRs that are needed for the plot to happen

Mission 03: Inspection Duty 3/5
Similar to mission 02, however issues with the hitbox for the Naval Base become apparent when you see other Imperial fighters trying to return to the hangar/launch becoming destroyed, potentially causing an issue with the shuttles docking at it (see bug report). Minor issues with unclear mission briefing towards the end, otherwise good fun.

Mission 04: Escort Part I 3/5
Similar to mission 02, however issues with the hitbox for the Naval Base become apparent when you see other Imperial fighters trying to return to the hangar/launch becoming destroyed, potentially causing an issue with the shuttles docking at it (see bug report). Otherwise good fun. Feels very much like a repeat of mission 03, with slightly different variables

Mission 05: Escort Part II 3/5
Potentially very hectic if ran in single player, as you're reliant on AI to either deal with the starfighter threat, or throwing the dice on the bombers choosing random none-critical targets. Good fun, with plenty of side objectives

Overall: 3/5
Solidly put together, with a few minor issues (mostly caused by repetition and hitbox errors with the modded station. Otherwise a brilliant little campaign. Worth a playthrough with wingmates due to the number of side objectives keeping you busy.

Long missions overall and can be troublesome. In the final mission there is a wait period of about 6 minutes where you think you think you are done and are just waiting on the AI to finish its things when all of a sudden like 7 more waves of enemies come hypering in. I almost fell out of my chair, but at 18 minutes finally finished it. Enjoyable to a degree, but I'm not really spun up on the phallic shaped craft and why they exist, so the story didn't do it for me.

On Mission 4 the shuttle keeps crashing. Not sure why as I applied and reapplied and.. reapplied the patches. If anyone knows why give me a shout on discord

Played this on easy as part of the 2021 RTF run. There are inconsistencies as the enemy cap ships were destroyed in mission 1 – and they appear again in mission 2. Would be better to have them withdraw when damaged. Using invincible ATRs to capture the FRG is a bit lame, there should be better ways to do it. Otherwise a nice fun battle with lots of custom stuff and an ok plotline.

Decent battle. This one has excellent briefings and a well developed plotline while following the exploits of Scorpion squadron. Player will have the chance to choose from T/D, GUN or the Cloakshape Fighter. Dogfighting, space superiority and valuable targets protection and even some bombing are present assignments, and the battle will not delude in the overall experience. Worth a try.

Enjoyable, but the waiting in mission 5 was too long for my taste.

Good battle, only some things in the last mission at the end, with this crazy transport only with the orders to go hypperspace. The orders for the friendly transports must maybe a little more clear be; for example fly to home and specified in the same time "Grey Wolf". But in few words ,a good battle

Ender is to battles as Woody Allen is to movies, except better. He comes out with a new battle every 8 minutes, but his are generally of better quality than Woody's movies. Good enough story, mostly perfect technically, and it's Scorpion Squadron! Woo!

Wheeeeeeeeeee, this is a fun battle. :P

Battle Bug Reports

Collison issues with Naval Base and fighters/transports trying to dock with it or enter its hangar.

In addition to Dunta: The prusuers in M3 are told to be going for the ISD, yet they target the NDP, Spider 1-2,1-3,1-4 do not fly home when done, CRV also sticks around, the E/S exit the hangar too soon
In M4, the SHU Helga keeps crashing into the NB making the mission unwinnable.

Mission 1: Message about successful inspection of containers only appears after HLF Mosquito have returned to the FRG Inflexible. Some containers are dropped before the HLFs return.

Mission 2: Message warning about attacking Y-wings only appears after they have been destroyed. Invincible CRL and Rebel ATRs (presumably a plot device).

Mission 3: Rebel Pursuers' global unit or naming configuration needs correction. Echo squadron often collide with the Pyrath Naval base upon returning to its hangar.

Mission 4: B-Wings are wrongly referred to as Y-Wings by in-flight message, and the warning appears after the second wave has launched. The Rebel Carrack cruiser Police is wrongly referred to as a Frigate, and the CRL Trust is referred to as a CRS. It seems possible that the Trust was actually intended to be a CRS as on medium\\hard it launches up to 3 squadrons.

Mission 5: TRN Wodan's global unit or naming configuration needs correction.

In mission 4, ISDs Grey Wolf and Vanguard are way too close together, upto one flying straight through the other.

Description
-----------
This battle is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing
missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give
a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are
interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe. In timeline this
battle takes place just before the free missions.

Story Line
----------
1. Scorpion Squadron, 89th TIE Corps Squadron, of Wing XV is based upon the ISDII Vanguard
and its objective is Reconnaissance. Reconnaissance Squadrons locate and inspect any craft
in an area and stop (IF necessary) until reinforcements can arrive to assist in
capture/destruction, OR to probe a known targets defenses (RE:Enemy!) in preparation for
further action by the Wing.
Scorpion Squadron is currently under the newly appointed command of former WC MAJ Strahd
after MAJ Ekim Yellek took on the WC position. Earlier CMDRs were Raven and his predessor
MAJ Archon. It has won WC's Own 5 months out of 7 in its first half year reopened while
Scorpion pilots earned VanCOM's Protector twice.
In this mission you will have to preform Scorpion Squadron's primary objective:
Reconnaissance. Intel has found out the location of a weapons cache of the "neutral"
System of Genko - Scorpion is sent in to check it out. If there's anything of interest,
HFLs from Mosquito SQD will launch to take it to the FRG Inflexible.

2. After Scorpion had assisted in the capturing of the Genko Weapons Cache they could
return to the Pyrath System together with the FRG Inflexible which carries the captured
material. At the Pyrath NavalBase they will then join up with the ISDII Vanguard again -
which is underway from patrol in the Minos Cluster.
While the squadron waits for their mothership the captured material will be transferred
from the Inflexible to the NavalBase, where it will be examined closer. Make sure this
transfer goes as planned or we will have gone trough that whole mission for nothing.

3. The Commodore of the ISDII Vanguard is not pleased at all with the fact that Scorpion
lost one of the Capital Ships under his command, the FRG Inlexible, to the New Republic and
is considering measures. For the time being Scorpion is put on inspection duty around the
Pyrath NavalBase.
What could be Scorpion's redemption though is the material they brought in from the Genko
weapons cache. Even before close examination its obvious that these warheads the Genkoans
were trying to get to the New Republic are something else completely. Instead of destroying
a craft they blast its systems down with a single targetted Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP)
after its shields have gone down - doing the same as many ion-strafing runs with a single
warhead the size of a proton torpedo!
The Vanguard is hypering out and will be right back with the rest of the ASF Flagstaff,
who want to have a closer look as well. Make sure that no more attacks are launched,
especially not on our staff.

4. After liberating the FRG Inflexible Scorpion Squadron is back in the Commodore Leeson's
favour but this still doesn't mean that we'll go back on patrol...
When the ASF Flagstaf saw the new Genkoan warheads themselves the BGCOM, AD Cyric, decided
that it should be brought to the attention of the EH Science Office immediately so the
TIE Corps could get equipped with the same kind of material.
Because the ISDII Vanguard is needed to patrol the border with the Genko System for more
information the BGCOM ordered the material to be transferred to the ISDII Grey Wolf, which
will then bring it to the Sovereign.
Scorpion Squadron will be on patrol during this whole procedure which will start with the
BGCOM and Grey Wolf Staff returning to their ship.

5. Now the BGCOM and Grey Wolf staff are safely back aboard their ISD, the rest of the
transfer can commence. Scorpion Squadron will patrol while transports will move the
material to the Grey Wolf. When that has been done the Flagstaf of the Vanguard will
return to the ISD Vanguard and the STRKC Amazon from the Intrepid Battlegroup will hyper
in to pick up the Intrepid Flagstaff.
Ater the last attack on the platform, using a cruiser, we can expect more trouble from the
New Republic. However its unlikely they'll try and risc a CRS against two ISDIIs and a
NavalBase. As such expect heavy rocket attacks on our Capital Ships so they can equalize
the balance again in their favour.
