Not sure about "impossible" but certainly could be a challenge. Not thrilled with the repetition of that last mission, but far from the worst battle in the compendium.

Looses points because the last mission is painful and endless. Too many flight groups.
Other than its ok. But too many flight groups in certain missions.

Too many problems.
Endless waves, stupid starting points, capships with starfighter orders, simple briefings, etc.
1 point for creator's effort.

Despite the title, this battle is not particularly difficult, but it is annoying and repetitive with a lot of dogfights. It was also irriting to see a mission critical craft in Mission 3 exit hyperspace right into a dreadnaught, even if it just once.

Impossible MIssion
Mission 1- Admiral Tolkin is ordered to kill a defector, Lt Needlin. He is
also ordered to destroy the civilian transport he may be on, but Admiral
Tolkin refuses to obey that part of the order.
Mission 2- Because Admiral Tolkin refused to obey an order to the fullest,
He and his crew are sent on a suicide mission. He must capture a rebel
refinery for Phrik, a rare metal used for Dark Trooper armor. However,
Admiral Tolkin plans to succeed with this mission and to do this he needs
an interdictor.
Mission 3- After stealing an interdictor from a band of Pirates, Admiral
Tolkin uses it to capture a small rebel border patrol.
Mission 4- The captured rebel ships are used to draw the fighters away from
the refinery while Admiral Tolkin's crew moves in and disables, and then
captures the station.
Mission 5- The remaining rebel starfighters re-group and attack. Nu
squadron must hold them off until the ISD: Tallus arrives.
