Battle Reviews

This is an excellent battle, the missions have engaging gameplay in service of an enjoyable and well delivered plot.

My sixty-fifth battle in the TIE Corps.

A few tricky missions, and one really annoying run in with entirely too many T-wings, but otherwise a fun battle that involved many different TC units. Was fun seeing some old names again!

I really enjoyed these series of missions - it was a long run, getting 10 done, but there was god variety and I spotted no bugs. Briefings were clear as were the goals. Recommended!

One of the best battles.
Interesting missions, good plot, no bugs.
Mission dificulty varies from easy to challanging.
Have everything that good battle should have.

enjoyed the mission, very Lucasarts like. One of the best I have played.

I think it´s the best battle in entire Compendium.

Very nice plotline and brefings are quite professional. But the seventh mission is a complete disaster! Shooting those &@^$@!# T-Wings almost made me mad!!!

Nice Work talas

This is good, but not quite up to 5 quality

All I can say is WOW! This ROCKED! Excellent Work!

A very enjoyable battle in itself with easy and difficult missions. The plotline is very interesting as it connects with the original battles from TIE in addition to opening up a whole new subset for the Emperor's Hammer - the Nami !! In my opinion this is excellent work !

Very good battle. Excelent plotline and variety of mission goals. Good work, Talas.

Gah!!! So much for my worries about making the battle too easy. You're going to want to set aside a couple of hours to get through this one but the story should keep you interested long enough to finish it. I was going for a CAB feel (this was before I actually played any CAB's) with this one but don't worry there aren't any "repeat the same battle over and over again from points of view" missions. I'm not that evil.

About the Battle:
-----------------
This was supposed to be eight missions but a failed attempt to do something
clever forced me to go to ten missions instead. Thus the '6a, 6b, 6c' business. '7B' came
about because I screwed up my original mission 7 and had remake it. I actually like what I
ended up with better than my original plan. My goal here was to tell a story not to make perfect
missions but think you all will be happy with how I told that story. LT Talas DEC 14th 2001.

Plotline:
---------
Mission 1: Defend an outpost against two seperate raider forces
Mission 2: Team up with the BHG to attack an alien raiding base.
Mission 3: Go undercover as a Nami pirate and attack a 'Imperial' Warlord
Mission 4: Recon the abandoned Nami homeworld
Mission 5: Protect a vital convoy's jump point
Mission 6: Wing VIII splits up and attacks three important targets at once.
Mission 7: Thunder Squadron takes on two elite Nami squadrons
Mission 8: Final showdown: GA Ronin corners the Nami Warlord

What DoE Tells us about the Nami.
---------------------------------
LCM Talas Jan 7 2002

-They are a Nomadic Warrior People. (Maybe they are only Nomadic after
the loss of their homeworld?)

-Piracy is common activity for them and this is how the Imperial navy
sees them as Pirates.

-Their civilization was destroyed during the Clone Wars and they were
driven into the Outer Rim.

-Tarrak is the "Last Leader" does this signify some sort of Noble
title?

-They have a desire to regain their lost territories.

-The Nami are not part of the Rebellion but seem to have no trouble
doing business with them.

-Notice how quickly they got a TIE Defender factory set up. It must
have been no more than a few weeks after they acquired the T/D Tech.
This may show that they are very skilled at incorperating new
technology.

-Tarrak's forces (Perhaps an Elite guard) are loyal, well trained
and equipped. This is the Imperial Navy making these statements!

-At the end of Battle 10 Tarrak is given the chance to serve the
Empire, which she most likely accepts.

-Notice in LA Battle 10 mission 1 that the secret order officer shows
concern over Tarrak's involvement, "No Ordinary Crime Lord". Yet the
Flight officer does not. Does this show that the Nami are not widely
remembered or that they are looked down upon by the regular navy.
