And enjoyable and well designed series of missions, which were clearly detailed. Bonkers plot though! Great fun - give it a go :)
I flew this as part of Raise the Flag competition 2021. Overall, the battle seemed straightforward with no major hang-ups. There is not much to say about it. It was fun but the battle did not contain any elements that makes it stand out from nearly every other battle you have ever flown.
Didn't really understand the story much, but it appeared like some weird TIE/A cousin love story. No worries, the missions were solid and they didn't take ages to complete. Good for RTF points and always fun due to Frodo.
Very fun and lots of rebels to shoot
This is a battle crafted for TCIB and high-score chasing thinly disguised as a storyline. Having said that, it's not half bad. The missions are actually fair, in what is pitted against you which is rare. Usually, in most other battles, you are either overpowered or having to fight against overwhelming odds or even worse having to do something at the blink of an eye else it's mission fail. In this battle, I am happy to say it is not the case. It strikes a good balance. The briefing is good and the story is decent. The gameplay overall allows for people to quickly complete it or to fly for hours to try and get a good score. A tiny criticism that I see a lot of mission creators do, is cap ships often ignore you until you fire upon them. Unless there is a reason for that platform (or cap ship) not to be firing at you, they should be firing at you the moment you are in range!
Technically, there was nothing wrong with this mission - 5 missions of a reasonable challenge level. Story-wise, on the other hand, it suffers. Who is Anna Darksaber and why should I care about her? Furthermore, how come all of the briefings required a second document to make sense? This is, unfortunately, not Frodo's best work and sadly lacks the pizazz I'm used to from him.
I did not think this battle was very fun at all. First off, let me address one thing. I will admit that I am not completely familiar with using Imperial military equipment and protocol to address family issues, but is the protagonist of this battle really just allowed to take an entire Imperial Star Destroyer based on the fact that his long lost sister MIGHT have contacted him through the Force? It seems a little ridiculous to put the lives of our young Imperial sons and daughters at risk just to reunite the family, but maybe that is just me. Darth Vader did it...but that is Darth Vader, so oh well. Some of the briefings were not very clear and there were a ton of misspellings – for instance, in the last mission, it is not very clear that you are supposed to slow down and be boarded, and the XvT chat logs are notoriously hard to read.
I played on Easy. Most of the missions pose little challenge and just have you shoot a bunch of dumb enemies. The storyline was semi-interesting, but started devolving into memes towards the end.
Interesting story line and relatively simple missions. This battle is good for a SPAM flyer like me looking to increase his FCHG rank, which is not something I can usually say about Frodo March’s missions.
A nice plotline, but sorry to say the missions were not up to the designers normal very high standards. Too often the missions just turn into a turkey-shoot.
eewwww, a very cool Battle by Frodo, the Hell is freezing over ;) Nah, very good work Frodo, I really enjoyed the Battle and the Storyline.
Another excellent battle by Froho, I especially love the fic included, hilarious, great work hobbit :P.
