Battle Reviews

RA Genie

Ender always manages to make battles that showcase the custom starfighters. This battle makes you fall in love with this beast of a fighter, even though it's basically a T/D rip off, it somehow feels good. I enjoyed flying this battle.

COL Phalk Sturm

This is another good battle from mBender. Hornet Squadron will allow the player to fly a set of not so common fighters, such as the Toscan or the PES. The missions are well balanced and you will face different operations with the possibility to choose which role is preferred, space superiority, bombing, interdiction, you name it. The plotline is simple yet effective, and this is a good classic of what a ragtag bunch of exotic fighters can do. Pure fun.

LC Curtis

Good stuff, but not Ender's best creation.

CPT Joe Arena

God forbid any other pilots on your side do anything. On the last mission, the caputre craft fired about three ion shots before being killed. After that, no more capture craft we sent. So i had a fun time sitting around for a half hour with nothing happening. I got some of my homework done during all of it.

FA Marcin Szydlowski

Excellent battle. Although I don't like this style of orders (that'w why 4), but idea with fast Y/Ws really rock. Good job. More battles like this one.

LC Alec Qarni

Ender made it- that's really the only rating you need. It's wonderfully made, no encountered bugs, and the story was Ender-quality, as well. Keep 'em coming!

This battle is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing
missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give
a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are
interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe. In timeline this
battle takes place just before the free missions.

Story Line
1. Hornet Squadron, 92nd TIE Corps Squadron, of Wing XV is based upon the ISDII Vanguard
and its objective is Interdiction. Interdiction Squadrons eliminate a target's capability
to flee, in any manner possible, up to and including destruction of the target. It might
also be necessary to inspect an unknown (but suspect) flight group to determine which, if
any, targets should be prepped for capture/disablement.
Hornet Squadron is currently in the capable hands of CM Daniel Goad and earlier CMDRs were
CrazyR2, Ace Armageddon and other illustrious names. It has won WC's Own 4 months out of
12 in the last recorded year while Hornet pilots earned VanCOM's Protector 3 times.
In this mission you will have to preform Hornet Squadron's primary objective: Interdiction.
We're sending the INT Artemis with half the wing to catch a CRS that's waiting for a
resupply convoy. The INT will keep the rebels from escaping and Mantis will take out the
CRS. All Hornet will have to do is mop up the fighters - Python will assist.

2. On the way back to the ISDII Vanguard the INT Artemis and Hornet squadron were diverted
to a point in deep space near the Jeh'Ree System. Recon has pointed out that there might be
a meeting going on here between the Jeh'Ree System and the New Republic Spine Security
If this happens to be the case, the Artemis will start up her gravity wells and Hornet will
take out all the craft that are involved in the meeting. The Toscans of Flight 1 will take
out the cruisers while Flight 2 and 3 will deploy against the fighters.

3. After the last two operations and for the operations still to come the ISDII Vanguard and
its Task Force Ships need to be resupplied. This will take place at the Pyrath Naval Base,
where to all the Taskforce ships have been recalled.
Hornet Squadron will fly cover around the Base and the Vanguard till the Taskforce arrives,
which should take about 10 minutes. Make sure the supplies reach our ships and that we don't
loose any major constructions or capital ships.

4. The Escort Shuttles that arrived at the end of our resupply operation were from the
Jeh'Ree System, a "neutral" System that's mostly founded on agriculture, inbreeding, cheap
holonet broadcasts and home distilled booze. Apparently these yokels are trying to get
friendly with the New Republic so they can sell the NR their produce... which is something
we'd advise against.
Fully resupplied and rested we're sending out some of the ISDII Vanguard's taskforce ships
to pay the Jeh'Ree a visit at one of their known weapons factories. Destroy the factory and
any capital ships that might orbit it. If you see any more of those E/S, we'll launch
fighters to capture them. We really need more data on the Jeh'Ree.

5. Capturing those Jeh'Ree Officers really payed off: they sqealed like babies the moment
our interrogation crew got in sight. Apparently we've been doing the right thing already:
that factory we destroyed built parts for those fast R41s the NR-SSF threw at us when we
attacked their Calamari Cruiser.
The parts are being assembled at another Jeh'Ree platform, which will be our next target.
After that we'll be assured that the Jeh'Ree will stay out of this business for a long while
- their officers told us that the effort cost the System too many resources already.
Because of the sucsess of the last capture, please try to capture as many more officers -
both Rebel and Jeh'Ree - if you can get your hands on them.

You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there), as far as i know
no other patches are needed.
