CM Jagged Fell III



I submitted a bug report for the disappearing hyper buoy then look at the mission files and see how to progress. You have to camp your own ship and destroy the drone before it can hit the CRS. Then to find out in the debrief this was the mission designer's intent, of the player having to restart the mission over and over until they figured out that they had to kill the drone to progress. That is not fun.

In region 1 there is a serious bug that prevents you from entering Region 2 (thus cannot complete the mission). Once the Calamari is alone it gets kamikazed by a solo experimental TIE. The region beacon appears and immediately disappears as the Calamari Freedom gets destroyed. Don't attempt to fly this mission until the TAC informs you it is fixed.

I must say I liked the concept and execution of the mission. It's certainly an unique story and it's very well made from technical perspective. Sadly, the mission has a bug that crashes the game for me (please refer to bug report from me). This made me repeat the mission total five times and given it's lenght when you head for a good score it's a lot of time wasted. In addition there is some background object issue in the Shooting Region 2, which makes you play in complete darkness if you use a custom shader. I wanted to give it 5 for the idea, but given how much pain this one caused me it's gonna be a 3.

This is a great and original mission. It definately gets more fun if you try to run the loop as far as it goes and going for the bonus points. Nice touch withthe bonus points, btw. Only prob is when your 50 minutes into it and kill yourself by crashing into your reload craft trying to re-enter the battle too quick. :P Changed rating to a four because it is a real pain when the mission critical fighters die to themselves by launching torpedos from too close of range after an hours worth of flying.

I got to give it credit for an original idea for a mission. Does get a little repetitive after a while though.BTW, ignore the bug reports below.....that's the way the mission is designed so you can figure out what is causing the "time loop."

Agree with Genie, the hyper buoy has the destruction of the CRS as its despawn trigger while the arrival is the disabling or destruction of the killswitch

This mission crashes for me every time I get the CRL Freedom in Shooting Range 2 region to 50% hull strenght. I made thus far four attempts on it. This is not a mandatory goal of the mission but I guess it cuts you on a few points. Given how long this mission can be, it is really frustrating to have it crash nearly at the end with all that time wasted.



Mission locks up when going to the Hanger. I have XP...service pack III (I guess)

 The weekly Ranger Squad meeting is neering it's end. 
' .........so we need to evaluate these new crafts and see if we can use them as a replacement for Gunboats . For that purpose i need a volunteer to escort the prototyps and collect data on their preformance .' Maj Toran said ,taking out his eleven sided dice  (a side for each one of us poor pilots )                     
and throwing it up into the air . 'Alea jacta est' .As the dice settels down the Maj looks at me saying :
'We have a winner ,all should congratulate LCM Gord Darkonian for his bravery volunteering for this 
very dangerous mission. Meet me tomorrow at 0600 at the briefing room for details .'
So here I'm standing alone in the cold briefing room  it's already 0613 and no sign of the Major .
My memory of the evil grins the rest of the Squad gave me as they shaked my hand and pated my shoulder faded quickly as I heared the hallow of nearing steps from the corridor .
I stood at attention saluting as CMDR enterd the room......

Installation and play instructions : 

1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle.
2] Check the Misc folder in your XWA for additional material like patches, emails or sounds. 
3] In EHBL, create a new "EH Pilot" in the Game Menu (Check "Prepare for EH Battle").
4] Press the X-Wing Alliance button to start XWA and fly the battle.
