When I was a young pilot, this was the first EH battle I ever played. I remember IM'ing GA Ronin telling him how great the EH was but "I played Battle 9 and I was very, very disappointed because the author just took the original missions and renamed and changed the ships and stuff." After I said that, I was looking through the newsletter at the same time to see who the author was and realized it was Ronin himself. Whoops. He joked "You're not going to get very far in this club if you insult the leader's missions! ;)" Many apologies followed. :P ...but I still have to give it a low rating because it was a conversion of the original missions. Our GA's a good story writer, not a battle designer.

I hate George and Gracie. Some missions are a bit too weird and empty, but it's an easy set of FCHG points.

New pet peeve...endless waves of starfighters that come out of hyperspace. Why wouldn't the Rebels just send ALL their squadrons at once to attack instead of one at a time?

I love the story. I love the battle! Play this, it's great!

Big conflicts and a lot of fun! It's missing some key briefings which keeps it from getting a 5, though.

Wrestling is lame...but after playing this battle, some strange subliminal force made me give this battle a 5... :P

Load this battle, go to full stop, go to the bathroom, and when you return, the mission objectives are done for you.

A great battle until you reach mission 5...which just ruined everything. Otherwise, it's pretty easy and a lot of fun to play.

It's a rather imaginative battle that I would've given a 5 if it didn't miss briefings every now and then.

One day, the Rebellion will invent turbolasers for their starships and engines for their starfighters...

After playing this fun battle, I learned today that Psi Squadron couldn't hit the broad side of the Sovereign with their lasers... *shakes his head* I guess those old guys at the reunion got a little rusty at flying. :P I've never before seen Gunboats make such a pathetic attempt to try to disable a ship that had no shields on it...

Well-made battle but very difficult without the unlimited craft option.

Errm..well..uh...*cough* ..ahem.. I might be a little biased giving this mission a five...so sue me. >:P Hey, I liked it! (BTW, hint: let the enemy board the container first before disabling it.)

Well, if you wanted a competition mission, here you go! You're by yourself and there are lots of targets to kill. Not much else, though, I'm afraid, but if you only want to complete the primary goals in a rush, it'll take you about 30 seconds to beat this mission.

The "Battle to destroy the invincible ship" idea has already been done again and again...but that's not why I gave this battle a "1"... I hate waiting! I hated waiting for the Cargo Ferries to leave in Mission #2. I hated waiting for the shuttles to dock with the platform and cruiser (why couldn't they just use the hangar?!) in mission #3. I hated waiting for a Carrack Cruiser to slooowwwlllyyy make its way to board a disabled shuttle several klicks away. I didn't care much for the story and some things didn't make sense (like why a Rebel minefield was planted a few klicks away from an established Imperial base, yet nobody would make any effort to attempt to clear it...including the base turbolasers that were in range?). The lack of briefing officer questions didn't help establish the story line that much. Lots of waiting = long angry review from me.

Way too much waiting involved for an XvT/BoP battle.

For some reason, I thought killing 20 Calamari Cruisers would feel more fulfilling. The plot is really hard to follow at times and some things just don't make sense in it. By the third phase, the missions are so simple and so easy you can tell the designer just got bored and wanted to finish these off quickly.

Just goes to show you don't need huge complex missions to make a good battle!

A note to all future mission designers... don't use emoticons like :P and :) in briefings. You'll either find the long drawn out almost-nothing-relevant-to-the-plot briefings and inside jokes in this mission really funny or really lame, but you will understand why this was originally called "Typhoon Squadron Battle" (...of disobedient squadron punks who don't listen to my radio orders >:P)! I guess this is one of those battles that draws the fine line between stupidity and wit...you'll love it or you'll hate it... you'll find ship with names like "Uh Oh" "Yummy" "Tae-Kwan-Do" (it 'Kwon'!) "Howdy" and "Yeeha" and that'll either bring a smile to your face or make you sick to your stomach. I did enjoy killing Lerner in Mission #4, though, but there are some days I just don't feel like taking on the entire Rebel fleet alone in a TIE Defender, you know? My wife helped make this battle, so I know I'm going to be sleeping on the couch for the next week or so when she reads this...
