Battle Reviews

Fast mission set, not really difficult in any way and it contains my favorite: Strike missions where you get to blow a lot of stuff up. Aside from that it isn't really all that special of a battle, but again it is entertaining at least.

I agree with Rando. There was thought behind the placement of the enemy craft, forcing you to make decisions on target priority. And in case you are wodnering, I always chose to target the B-Wings first! I will be returning for a hard attempt.

I played on Easy. These missions are very quick on Easy, but they definitely feel like they have some depth to them on harder difficulties. I would be interested to try these missions again outside of RtF, just to see how they hold up.

Nice battle. Always flying a T/A made it slightly repetitive, but nevertheless an enjoyable gaming experience. You will fly a variety of roles in this short and classic-styled battle. Dogfights, bombing runs and protecting craft, in a well balanced environment, with an average plotline and briefings. Worth flying if you are running out of battles in the compendium

Very good battle! The missions and briefings are well constructed. There's enough going on in combat that you need to prioritize and plan your approach, but it's never overwhelming. If you can handle the action, that is. Pay attention to elective craft loadouts, since the defaults may not be optimal. Tip: the decoy beam is available in every mission. If you can properly utilize its game-breaking power, your TIE Advanced will become an unstoppable force of destruction. My only complaint is there are a LOT of craft in the final two missions. A score attack will require excessive investment of time and patience, well over an hour in both of these missions. This is probably one of the longest battles I've flown in terms of scoring time. But if you're not aiming for a good score, the primary objectives are simple and quick to achieve.

This was a fun mission. Recommended to all pilots.

This is the best created battle I've ever seen for XvT on the mission compendium, the briefings are just sensationnal, the gameplay is elaborate, yet simple and fun in all shapes and sizes, plus it includes a patch that enhances gameplay. We need more battles like this!

Was a very interesting mission, and I must say, the B-Wings looked preaty sweet. A 4 from me :)

Battle Bug Reports

GN Dunta Polo

2009-08-12

Mission 1: Enemy Y-Wings have bad target orders: surely they should be attacking the convoy? Mission goal only shows as 75% complete when all of the convoy has entered hyperspace.

Mission 4: Goal to keep FRG Patriot intact does not have a description on CMD for failed or current status. FRG Patriot and pirate starships do not fire on each other when in range.

Description
-----------
This battle has been made to introduce the Squadrons of Wing XXI aboard the Kawolski and
to advertise and test the B-Wing patch for XvT in use as an additional enemy craft. It
is part of a series of battles about varied TC units and their squadron objectives.

Story Line
----------
1. Stelek Squadron, 135th TIE Corps Squadron, of Wing XXI is based upon the ISDII Kawolski
and its objective is Long Range Support. Long rang Support Squadrons provide long range
missile fire to other Squadrons, when they attack lightly shielded targets (or those with
massed fighter defences); OR provide point-blank bombing support against heavily shielded
targets (or those with minimal fighter defenses).
In this mission you will be deployed as Long Range Support in a far wider sense: You are
to escort freighters from the Corporate Division along a hyper jump point around an
asteroid field.
The freighters are carrying TIE Vanguard parts captured by Renegade Squadron outside the
Pyrath System and are on their way to the Emperor's Hammer Science Office. There the parts
will be tested before Renegade and Cobra Squadron can use them on their own TIE Vanguards.

2. Stelek Squadron did well protecting the Corporate Division convoy from that pirate
attack. The freighters are now already safely docked to the Science Office Laboratory
and are being unloaded.
However the Squadron needs to go back to that same hyper point again to help out the VSD
Retribution, which wasn't as fortunate as Stelek was: Probably because of the B-Wing
attacks it blew its hyper drive just before it could jump away and is now a sitting duck
for any additional attacks.
We are sending Stelek in together with a repair and rescue party, for which it will have
to provide cover. The rescue party consists of a Frigate carrying the smaller parts and
tech crew and a Cargo Ferry carrying the replacement hyper drive. The whole operation
should be over and done with in mere minutes.

3. Using a Frigate in their attack on the VSD Retribution was an unexpected mistake of
these Pirates: The Retribution was able to trace the Frigate's hyper drive trail easily -
leading us to a mass centre on the outskirts of the Ornaka System, previously believed to
be devoid of life.
It would seem an unknown group of privateers has set up shop here recently - which
hopefully means they don't have amassed a lot of defences yet.... Though their use of the
top of the line New Republic fighters might suggest they have large resources.
We are sending in Stelek Flight 2 for a retaliation strike, in which the goal is to do as
much expensive damage as possible with minimum losses.

4. The Base these Ornaka Pirates have set up for themselves was a lot larger then
previously estimated and Stelek Flight 2 was only able to do superficial damage.
The Emperor's Hammer won't condone a Pirate's Nest so close to its borders and shipping
routes so we're sending in a larger force to destroy the base completely. This will
probably scare the rest of the scum away.
Stelek Squadron will join up with the Deep Strike Squadron Zlatan on this mission,
providing long range support. In the case of any unexpected events we have the Transports
of Zulu Squadron and Frigate Patriot standing by to help out.
Its of the utmost importance that this Pirate Base is demolished.

NOTE
-------------------
You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there) AND the B-Wing Patch. To
fly as a team all players need the same version, make sure you all have the update by
lucasarts installed.
