It's a solid scenario and I find that despite the somewhat formulaic approach to the content there's a lot to be commended in Ender's attempt to create missions covering every unit in the fleet and providing little bits of historical information along with it. We've lost a lot over the years, it's nice that things live on in unusual places.

An average free mission. Good things are that you have a choice of an X-W or T/A and a wide array of warheads and beams to choose from. The mission itself is challenging yet not impossible, and quite straightforward, dogfight everybody and sink a CRS. Simple, yet fun and engaging.

You get a choice between T/A and Xwing. A bit of a gimmick there. The combat itself is a straight dogfight battled peppered with a defenseless calamari cruiser wrapped in a red ribbon. It was more of a 3, but gave it a 4 because of the enjoyment I got out of it.

A simple mission, clear some fighters and strike the objective target. Craft counts are reasonable, and it doesn't take very long to complete. The dogfight could pose a challenge with default armaments, but you're given a wide selection of optional warheads and beams which can entirely mitigate the threat. This can become a very fast, easy mission if you play it right. The combat is okay for what it is. It leans more into backstory than gameplay, though it still doesn't provide much information. All you really get is a few paragraphs about the squadron and its role, presented in the readme and mission description. The briefing was a chore, it spends most of its time listing the squadrons and their mottos than actually explaining the mission task at hand. Overall it's good for being a fast mission, free of bugs or annoyances.

This free mission is lot of fun, especially because it lets you be member of an Elite squadron and destroy a symbol of Rebel power, wchich is a Calamari Cruiser with starfighters.

Description ----------- This mission is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe. Story Line ---------- Avenger Squadron, the ASF Elite Squadron, is based upon the VSDII Aggressor and its objective is Special Operations. Special Operations Squadrons would be able to perform precisely targetted missions in small flight groups so large amounts of EH assets are not risked. This would include, but not restricted to, Kidnapping, Assassination, Psychological Warfare, Special Insertion/Extraction and VIP Escort. Avenger Squadron is currently under the very sucsessful command of MAJ Khameir Sarin, who has actively rebuild the squadron, and earlier CMDRs were LC E.Tarkin, LC Death, COL Shups, COL Niksavel and FA Priyum, the current FO. As elite Avenger Squadron has always belonged to the top ASF Squadrons, if not of the TC as a whole. In this mission you will have to preform Avenger Squadron's primary objective: Special Operations. The EH has found out that a NR-SSF Calamari Cruiser is waiting for supplies near the EH Territories. Avenger will join up with GUNs from Crusader Squadron to take it out.
