Battle Reviews

COL Locke Setzer

Allow me to again state how much I don't like the same battle being ported across multiple platforms... this is the third version of the Rite of Supremacy that I've played, and I'm pretty done with it...

That aside... it's perfectly fine. Lacks some polish but missions are acceptable. Patches work well (swaming TIE Drones are great). I've probably said it elsewhere, but Mission #3 (done right, with distinct teams) would make for a great XvT free to use for competitive multiplayer.

CM Benji Tandor

A solid set of missions with an enjoyable pace.

My ninety-seventh battle in the TIE Corps.

GN Triji Boliv

Despite Mission 3 being unnecessarily long and tedious (killing a bunch of FRG and A/FRG without warheads, well without warheads once you've expended your stock, and trust me, you don't have enough), this was a good battle. The Hyperion Gunboat was a fun addition and welcome change from the usual craft choices.

COL Phalk Sturm

This battle is very much like a few missions put together. There are some excellent missions and other that are not so much. The level of technical skill in creation, is the usual in Ender, but this one lacks a solid story to be reflected in the missions. Besides, there is a mission where a dozen frigates fight between them and you will have a hard time picking the right targets. Challenging, yes. Well crafted, yes. Fun to fly, not so much. Just play for the points and if you want to experience a messy orgy of frigates where no one knows friend from foe.

AD Hav Antiel

The plotline was inscrutable and confusing. Why am I attacking three pairs of red IFF frigates with an unshielded TIE/IN with no warheads? The first mission gave me hope, but the rest were confusing and difficult. Also, Ender likes to use the red IFF, which is a pet peeve for me.

HA Frodo March

Usually I rarely find points on which to complain about Ender's battles, but this one is simply the worst I've seen from him. Its too patchy for one, I don't remember the plotline much for two, and three...ick, I just had a hard time getting past it. I may be biased because I flew it before it was fixed and released but I just have to say this: Ender, only use your own plotlines :)

Battle Bug Reports

COL Locke Setzer

Compendium lists the E-Wing patch, but this is incorrect - should be "EH Ship Patch for XvT" instead (no E-Wings required)

LCM Vanguard88

Mission 2: the Cort rejector will crash into the asteroid base and explode after docking depending on the frigates' location, causing you to fail.

Mission 4: transports that arrive will destroy your mission critical craft after disabling your frigates, causing you to fail the mission.

Story Line

[View Plotline.txt for the descriptions.]

You ensured that the goods we need on our quest for the parts of the tablet have all arrived where
they are needed.
The Grand Master is pleased.

The automatic defenses of Lord Vader's Castle were still quite effective, you did well in
taking them out. We now have the third piece of the tablet, which we shall immediately
present to our Grand Master.
He will most certainly be able to retreive more information from it.

The Grand Master was very displeased with the behaviour of the Clans and our leaders are now feeling
the full effect of his wrath... (Note: no memorial service wil be held)
After the injured have been put out of their misery and the major damages repaired, we are to
immediately land our Krath and Obelisc on Cilpar.

You distracted the Rogue Dark Jedi long enough for them to let our Transport on their platform without
checking it too well. The Qel-Droma warriors onboard of the transport were able to get the last piece
of the Tablet.
This should offer our Grand Master insight into where the Artifact of Power is hidden.

You have claimed the Artifact of Power for the Dark Brotherhood and took on a clan of possessed Krath
Ritualists. The Artifact has been presented to the Grand Master, who will examine it further. He has
already declared your Clan to be the greatest of them all.

Mission Hints:

We need all the convoy craft to get through, but just a few torpedoes can already take out one of the
As such keep your eye on especially the B-Wings and the flight of Y-Wings coming out of the
Intercept torpedoes if you have to.
If you really get into a tight spot, call the Keeper of Faith back with Shift-S. It will launch another
flight of TIE Interceptors.

The automated defenses go active the moment one of them gets either inspected or attacked.
Target the Platform and head straight for it at top speed, meanwhile getting a missile lock.
Do not fire until you're almost close enough to inspect it, after you have inspected the
platform press [T] to inspect the asteroid and get the hell out of there.
The laserbatteries take as many hits as a platform to get destroyed, instead just target their
turrets with missiles and destroy those.

This mission is very hectic so keep on moving and swerving around. The frigates are having their own
melee, best keep them at that and don't attack them. Instead protect your own frigates by dealing with
as many enemy gunboats as you can.

Our starships need a bit of help against the enemy Dreadnaughts and Platform so try to launch torpedoes
at them between dealing with fighters. Do not worry about the Transport on its way in, the Rogue Dark
Jedi are completely fooled. On its way out the plan will be out, and it wil get fired upon - try to
distract the Platform and Dreadnaughts from it by firing at them.

The biggest problem in this mission is keeping your Frigate alive while it takes on the platform.
After you launch, assign the attacking Z-95s to your wingmen and take on the Transports yourself -
intercepting as many of their torpedoes as possible. When those are done, focus on the R-41s and
Y-Wings. It is advisable to select torpedoes.

GENERAL: You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there) with EHSP.
