This is another battle with multiple versions (blergh). The XvT version is inferior to the XWA version that, if you have a choice, you should play instead, as it's significantly better. This one is okay, but it loses a full point for having to laser down all the asteroid turrets in Mission 4, which is awfully tedious (and just awful in general).
Extreme tedium and hellish difficulty come together to make this battle an unbearable slog.
My ninety-eighth battle in the TIE Corps.
Nice battle. Nothing extraordinary but will keep player entertained. Mostly flying T/D and that is a plus whenever I fly a mission. You will encounter a nice spectrum of different roles and assignments, and that makes the campaign very interesting. It is not the best of DB battles, but it is certainly worth a try and some good minutes of fun while playing it.
There are hints of a good story buried in there but very poorly executed. Perhaps it was one of the mission maker's first attempts at making a battle. In particular, in mission 4, how many asteroid laser batteries do you want? Yes. OK, hmm, how about mines. How many mines? Yes. Should I fly it (if I am not not not aboard the Hammer)? Yes => meta question, reviewer why did you use so many nots? Yes. Are you staying in theme with this battle? Yes.
Agreed with the previous reviewers about Mission 4. Taking out those laser batteries is a chore that sours the rest of the battle. I think COL Mouse Droid is right; the creator underestimated how long it takes to destroy those asteroids.
A good battle. I have to concur with COL Gunman though. It took me 1.5 hours to finish mission 4 because the AI Gunboats only destroyed 2 asteroids and I had to finish the others with lasers without support. There really should be 2 waves of AI Gunboats which you can summon instead of 1 wave.
A very good mission. It probably deserved a 4, it really did... if it wasn't for the mission where we have to take out laser batteries and disable transports (mission 3 or 4). The mission creator clearly underestimated how long it takes to destroy small asteroids, not to mention you can spend a long time taking them out and then fail the whole mission just because a transport escaped.
There are currently no open bug reports for this battle.
