I flew this as part of Raise the Flag competition 2021. Overall, the battle seemed straightforward with no major hang-ups. There is not much to say about it. It was fun but the battle did not contain any elements that makes it stand out from nearly every other battle you have ever flown.
Not too bad mission-wise, it's a relaxed one. I enjoyed the historical aspect of this one more than anything to be honest, some nice humor showing what it was like back in the day.
So I liked the story and how it led to a competition. Even the little inside jokes were great: Submit files in a zip file. Overall the missions aren't bad either and fairly easy to complete.
A straight-shooter, nothing that really stands out. The last mission was an attempt at 'subversion' and some humour of the times this battle was created at. An ok battle, no flaws and it always gives me pleasure to blow up capital ships.
A totally average battle. Quite repetitive as the usual setup of T/A dogfighting against innumerable waves of alphabet fighters is all that happens throughout the campaign. And while it's always a good thing to fly an Avenger with advanced missiles, loadout options are not present in some missions. In the end gets a bit tedious. Fly it for the 4 FHCG points but don't expect anything to remember.
I played on Easy. These are very quick and easy missions, for the most part. The transport on Mission 2 takes FOREVER to dock with the Star Destroyer. I sat for at least 3 minutes doing nothing while waiting for it to dock. Other than that, these missions were fine. Nothing really stood out but they weren't awful either.
Generally disappointing.
I now know how those poor America soldiers felt when fighting the Vietnam War. Rather illogical at times, shame really could have been a rather good battle.
