After a wee bit of work, TIE Fighter has now also been upgraded to the new patch system. However, there are a few buts:
  • The battle download pages link to the patch for TIE95. If you want the DOS patch, you'll have to get it via the patch archive manually.
  • You are strongly recommended to install the EHSP for TIE95 as it fixes a crucial bug with ISDs not firing their guns, which makes some battles harder to win, or even impossible
  • It is possible battles in the TIE Compendium require the EHSP without that being mentioned in the readme. If you come across one, let me know.

Greetings all, to reflect the contributions made so far by my comrades in the Admiralty I have elected to make a few awards.

DEAN/VA Astin is thus awarded the Silver Star for his unflinching dedication in restructuring and rebuilding the IWATS from next to nothing, haing so far restored 13 of 26 courses to full functionality, soon to be followed by CORE. His efforts in this regard will hopefully guarantee the ability to process new recruits efficiently and with greater success.

SOO/VA Viper Pred is thus awarded the Gold Star for the contribution of the new and rewritten TC Pilots Manual due to be publicly released within days. This document details every aspect of the TC and should prove invaluable to new and old pilots alike. It has been a difficult process but Viper\'s dedication has never failed to impress.

I know you will all join me in congratulating them

    TCCOM Report #6
    FA La’an, 17/3/09

Greetings all once again, this is the 6th TCCOM report Ive had the privilege to issue and I am once again very happy to note a continuing improvement in flight activity, IWATS participation, and general online presence. The DEANs excellent work in getting SM/4 operational will hopefully soon be followed by an updated CORE to once again get new blood streaming into the group. There are already several potentials on the Daedalus roster and they will hopefully make it through their training under Astin\'s tutelage. The same is true of the RSVs, more of whom i hope to see returning after the reassignment of Godo Nurok and Ard Royber back into the active ranks, elbeit balanced by the hopefully temporary departure of Golbez Harvey, an old comrade who will be sorely missed.

Sticking with the DEAN, Astin has taken on RA Jedi Eclipse as an Assistant to... assist strangely enough! Hopefully the speed of returning IWATS will pop up another gear. Id like to publicly thank Astin for his work so far and reassure him that suitable rewards will be forthcoming.

Another public congratulations goes to the SOO whose new Pilot Manual has entered the final approval stage after being confirmed by the FC and XO, with the TO adding a minor section and that hopefully being it. Its been a labour of misery i suspect for Viper but its one that will form a lasting contribution to this group and for his work I owe him a debt of thanks.

There has been one medal reccomendation in my files since last month that Ive been unable to process to a technical error, one long fixed by Dempsey and almost forgotten by myself. I have however hunted it down and would thus like to congratulate Gunman on his award of the Grand Order of the Emperor - this was reccomended originally by Dempsey for his work in preserving the old material from the TC and EH sites that has allowed us to rebuild far more effectively than otherwise might have been the case! Congratulations!

On a not so pleasant note I will say that MWE\'s to date have been disappointing, in so much as we have only received that of the Challenge (Thank you Wing X), Each WC has only two squads to process, no COM to go through, so there is absoloutely no excuse for the process taking three or four times longer than it should. ASAP MWE\'s need to go to myself and the SOO, this is getting serious.

COO is still open for applications, anyone with the time, will, and MP experience will be considered so once again apps to myself and the SOO. Both of us will be available for any queries regarding duties/plans etc.

Ill draw this to a close before i encroach too heavily on my fellow Admiral\'s toes with one last item, I will be away from a computer for the next 4 days whilst attending a British Army assessment board so should anything critical arise my second, VA Viper Pred, will be in command.

    Regards,

Yes, the time has come to pick the best (and worst) battles and free missions of 2008. This year, there's going to be two minor changes compared to last year.

First off, we're having categories again. So much was released last year, we'll be picking the best battle, storyline, technical realization and briefings per platform!

Secondly, after long thought following last year's crazy results, it's been decided that you can only vote for a battle you've actually flown, thus hoping to avoid craziness.

Therefore, I urge anyone who wants to participate in the vote to fly the battles released last year. As an added bonus, you'll earn extra FCHG points, it looks nice on monthly evaluations, not to mention that last year saw some of the best battles released, so you'll have plenty of fun!

Voting will commence on June 1st, by which time I do hope to have some kinda of online voting system up and running. So, you have plenty of time to go out and fly.

For a complete list of all battles and free missions released, go here:

Alas, today I was alerted to a problem with the battleboards. As it turns out, there was a slight miscalculation in counting the # of pilots needed for a citation. The error has been fixed, but it just makes it that much harder to get the comp properly done. However, I\'ll do things manually again :)

I\'m happy to announce that Squadron Management (now in it\'s 4th version, [SM/4]) is available for all pilots to take on the IWATS website. The course is just a modified and updated SM/3, so those of you who have previously taken SM/3 do not need to take SM/4. However if you feel so inclined, you are allowed to do so. As always, please let me know of any errors or problems you may find!

    TCCOM Report #5
    FA La’an, 7/3/09

My performance for the past three weeks has been below par, work, family funerals and a host of other issues have had me running around and sparing no time for consideration of the impact this would have on my duties to you all. I have a capable and willing command group in place and i have not delegated accordingly - in this the fault is entirely my own and has now been rectified.

Ill say no more of this other than to congratulate all of you for the sterling work so far, to say my inbox has been flooded with emails would not be an understatement. The period of change has continued with Fury and Flayers CMDR spots changing hands due to necessity which i hope proves that we are now a group that can no longer tolerate laxity from CMDRs and will be willing to take any measures necessary to address our problems head on.

I would like to extend personal congratulations to CPT Dante and CM RichyV for having the belief and determination to step up to the plate for their squads, and to LCM Sergeyli for his recent promotion.

I have equally been pleased to see flight activity from our flagship squadron Prae, as well as a host of other pilots and squads. The same message goes for the IWATS confirmations that have begun to trickle in. Astin has done, and continues to do, a fine job in bringing IWATS up from the ashes.

On a similar note the SOO has just finished what will likely be the final edit of the new TC Pilot Manual, a handy PDF explaining the nuts and bolts of this group. You can expect to see this in the next few days, along with a host of awards and comp details for activity past and hopefully future in turn.

MWEs are due and should be completed asap, so CMDRs should be adding final touches to their MSEs so we can get the rewards out to those pilots who deserve them. I have the previous Chal MWEs that were not processed and will be retrodatign awards for these along with their most recent MWE when it passes through the SOOs office.

I am continuing in my optimism for the future of the TC as a viable group and looking forward to the months ahead. Should my own activity at any point be any less than adequate then you are all my checks and balances and i expect you to be vocal, suffering in silence is never an option so always feel free to voice your concerns to me - I have an open door policy and as the manual says i am responsible for the General State of the TC - a duty that encompasses a range of functions, pilot morale being integral.

In conclusion Id like to add additional congratulations and my own personal gratitude to Dempsey for her receipt of the Imperial Cross in recognition of her services to the TC in creating the group site and database and continually striving to provide a better and more effecient system. I remain indebted to her

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, It is with great honor that I present the following awards for the hard work and dedication by several of our Command Staff officers over the last few months.

Ender - You are hereby promoted to High Admiral with all the rights and privileges thereof. Your constant feedback and \"devil\'s advocate\" attitude helps keep Cyric and I grounded in our endeavors to improve the EH and keeps us thinking of how the other side sees events. Your independent action and hard work to completely revamp the patch archive and create a new, user-friendly, interface for loading these patches is truly innovative and I appreciate your continued work to finalize this system for all our flight sim platforms.

Dempsey - You are hereby awarded the Imperial Cross. The work you have done to restore the TIE Corp database and continued work loading pilot data has been integral to our rebuilding efforts. Your work has helped restore day-to-day activities and clearly shown to the internet community that we are rebuilding stronger and better than before.

Rapier - You are hereby awarded the Gold Star. Your assistance running the EH weekly meetings during my absences (planning a wedding) is extremely helpful. Your constant professional attitude and clear head help maintain order throughout the fleet.

Czul - You are hereby awarded the Gold Star. Your restructuring of the Dark Brotherhood into a more streamline organization and website skills have brought stability to your group and have set it upon the path of renewed success. Please forward these announcements to your respective commands. Congratulations to everyone for all your hard work. It is truly appreciated beyond words.

Greetings all from your long lost TCCOM, reports of my death have been proven false!

My apologies to those of you whose queries and duties have been affected by my absence, Ive had a pair of family funerals in as many weeks, lost a dog, and had to drop everything to attend several medicals and interviews as part of my application to enlist in the RN - suffice to say my duties as TCCOM have slipped and you all have sufficient cause to beat me senseless!

On the bright side things are running largely smoothly with MWEs now due to the SOO, whilst my active XO has been hard at work - he has just forwarded the updated pilot manual for proofreading and this will be released very soon.
