Ready Room...

We're fresh out of Exercise (Re)Mobilization 6--many thanks to the Gamma members that participated. Gamma finished 8th out of 16 squadrons. Time for a quick breather before we enter action again.

Considering most of us are Star Wars Squadrons (SWS) players, we've all noticed the difficulty in getting PvP matches. I've started playing Fleet Battles (FB) with a small window of good activity on Friday evenings—roughly 5-8pm EDT. There's supposedly another window on Saturday's when the European players are on, but I've yet to find the window when activity is good.

We're now regularly playing PvE matches to continue honing FB skills. When I host or join a match, we almost always get 5 players in the matches and they count for an LoS.

There's now an Emperor's Hammer (EH) effort being led by RA fr0Zen to build an EHTC branded team for participating in the Squadron's Championship Leage (SCL). Please read the news article https://www.emperorshammer.org/news.php posted on 12 June. I signed up for the team and would love to have some Gamma team mates join us in this new effort!

We started practicing with RA fr0zen on 6/14 and he's setting up routines where everyone can practice based on YOUR availability to play.

Commander's Cockpit

CPT Blaster regularly gives me a RASH for my venting about unnecessary COMMs during our Star Wars Squadrons matches. Being a USAF aviator, we didn't say anything on the radio that wasn't mission essential. Well, in the gaming world the rules are a bit more lax and I assure you I've gotten much better about tolerating the non-tactical/non-essential banter that occurs in matches.

At the other extreme, I'd like to address Gamma Squadron's practically non-existent communications. Since becoming the Gamma CMDR, I've sent several communications to each squadron member individually and to Gamma in general via Discord and e-mail. So far, I've had only 2 responses over a period of 2 months. I mean come on…

Isn't it common courtesy to reply back when someone attempts to talk with you?? One of the Emperor's Hammer requirements is to communicate with your commander at least once a month. The Tie Corps Pilot Manual states the Contact Requirements are: "At least once per month contact via email or other form of communication with immediate superior." There is even a Medal of Communications awarded for this small activity.

I don't need a long dialog from you, but I would like to know "what's up" relative to your EH activities. When I inquire about low levels of activity, it's because our in-game activity supports the bigger efforts of Gamma, Battlegroup I, TIE Corps, and Emperor's Hammer. This is the essence of what we signed up to support with our gaming efforts.

Please relook at how we're supporting our team mates. And as I noted in the Ready Room for the SWS players, we'd love you to join the EHTC (SCL) Fleet Battles Team—we're gonna have fun! RA Fr0zen has a unique strategy involving the B-Wing. I've been flying his configuration in PvE and that ship can cause A LOT of Capital Ship damage!
