On easy this thing is a walk on a small forest moon. You have to take out several cap ships and cruisers while defending about three of your own (on easy), but you can lose a couple of your cap ships in the process so, again, on easy that's not too bad.

I played on Easy. Your orders are to kill a bunch of capital ships. You definitely have enough Rockets to accomplish this very easily. I only had to kill a few things with lasers because I wasn't economical enough with my rockets.

You are a gunboat wrecking machine. You have friends who are gunboat wrecking machines. And now you have targets. Go blow them up. That's really all this mission is, and to be honest it is pretty awesome. Could be longer, but I would continue to blow stuff up with a grin on my face. Enjoyable quick run.

Very much a race to see who can kill the other sides capital ships first. Fortunately, at least on easy, the AI has a habit of not going in for the kill allowing you to win fairly quickly with rocket armed Gunboats!

That is the promise of an excellent battle falling just a little bit behind greatness. It could have been a proper race on which side gets to kill the most cap ships, which I imagine is what Ender what trying to pull.

Nice bombing mission while protecting your own fleet. Or it can a space superiority assignment to sweep the skies for your GUN (there's the chance to choose a T/I). Either way, the mission is well planned and so is the ordnance for the player's choice. Beware of enemy bombers with rockets because they can ruin your day in a second. Worth a try

X-Wing vs Tie Fighter Free Mission Title: ASF: DREAD Calidor Missions: 1 Medal: The Calidor Crescent Author: FL-SCOA-TCT-TCS/CM Ender mBind/Echo 2-1/Wing XV/ISD Vanguard (mindb_ender@hotmail.com) Game Platform: X-Wing vs Tie Fighter Combat Mission: 1 (inc briefing, radiomessages etc for both teams) Release Date: 26/jun/2002 Ships: TIE Advanced, Assault Gunboat, A-Wing Difficulty: Playable. Filename: ASFCALIDOR.zip File contents: ASFCMBS5.TIE, IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST, REBEL.LST, ASFCMBM5.TIE, IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST, Readme.txt Hardware used: Celleron 450Mhz, GForce II Ultra, 194Mb Software used: XvTed, notepad. THESE LEVELS ARE NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. ELEMENTS TM & (c) LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. Installation ------------ note: the original .lst files in your train and combat files will be overwritten, you will not loose access to your exsisting Combat missions but because of EHTAC regulations the Training missions are replaced. IMPORTANT! ONLY USE THE SINGLE PLAYER MISSIONS (TRAINING MISSIONS) FOR HIGH SCORE SUBMISSION. 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle. 2] Check the Misc folder in your XvT one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 3] Press the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter button to start XvT and fly the battle. - Place these files into your /Combat directory: IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST, REBEL.LST, ASFCMBM5.TIE - Create a new pilot for the mission based on your name or PIN and the mission number. For example, SL Stele playing Free Mission 80 would make a new pilot file named "StelFM80." or a Pilot with PIN 2883 playing Free Mission 69 would make a new pilot file named "2883fm69" - Begin flying the first training mission, fly on till you've finished training mission #1 Description ----------- This mission is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are interconnected and have the ASF Squadrons join together against a common foe. In storyline these happen after the larger Wing Battles. Story Line ---------- The NR-Spine Security Force patrols the Corellian Trade Spine continuously with medium sized starships outfitted with at least a squadron each. This way their leader, the Duke of Perlemian, tries to secure safety for the many trade vessels on the route he has been assigned by the NR Admirality on Coruscant. The TC-Aggressor Strike Force however is set on bringing the Duke into trouble with his superiours by sending in heavier starships outfitted with at least two but more often three squadrons to take out the NR-SSF patrols. TIE Corps command knows that nothing hurts the fragile New Republic more then the loss of ships. Now we have the NR-SSF Frigate Trustworthy facing off with the TC-ASF Dreadnaught Calidor. It seems like a made case for the bigger Calidor, but both sides still have a few tricks up their sleeves. NOTES ------------------- COMBAT NOTE: For this mission to work in MP, all players must have it installed on the same mission number, in this case "130". Preferably do not change this number. FCHG NOTE: TAC won't let you fly Combat Missions or XWA Skirmishes for FCHG Points, use the Single player mission for all TC flying outside of combat competitions. GENERAL: You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there), as far as i know no other patches are needed. To fly in Combat all players need the same version, make sure you all have the update by lucasarts installed. SINGLE PLAYER: This mission was made as a Combat Mission, its goal is to be fair to both sides so it can be played instead of a regular melee. MULTI PLAYER: For multiplayer this mission supports 2vs2. Other Information ----------------- This is the first release of a very quickly made and hardly tested mission. Bugs could arrise - please mail me if they do - also if you have hints, death threats, questions or apraisals.FL-SCOA-TCT-TCS/CM Ender mBind/Echo 2-1/Wing XV/ISD Vanguard GSx2/SSx3/BSx4/PCx5/ISMx15/MoI/MoT-21rh-35gh-2bh/IS-1SR-1PR/LoC-PSx101/DFC/CoS/CoL/CoB/LoAx2/OV-2E [PLDN] {IWATS-AIM-GFX-ICQ-IIC/1/2/3-M/1/2-SM/2-TM-TT-XAM-XTM-XTT}
