A simple mission, which was actually great fun - concentrate on the ATR's and you will get this one done quickly, at least on a lower difficulty setting. Well worth exploring on higher settings, and revisiting for a future play-through as well. Recommended.

A worthy sequel to the supply transfer mission, it's plotline (and combat aspects) keep you entertained. I liked the frequency of the launches of new ATRs, since they keep you on your toes the entire time. They're also challenging to fight against when they're in close groups, which makes for a fun fight in the T/A.

Excellent mission. It starts as any other ordinary hit the capital ship kind of mission, but then unfolds into a total hell show. ATRs are one of the toughest things to sink out there, and these dozen of them are no different. The action, however was well balanced and keeps the player on the edge until the end. The self-homing torpedoes were a great idea. And I loved the effect of the superlaser. For a second I just thought there was something wrong with the game. Superb.

Short and to the point. The introductory set piece is nothing short of inspired. It really got me hooked into the gravity of the situation. I only wish there had been more follow through. Before I knew it my objectives were complete, mission over. That being said, I have not played through all of these free missions, and the author hinted at more to come. I'm be excited to see what gets done with this.

I loved so many things about this mission. The guy who made it is a visionary. From the beginning you are treated to an amazing spectacle and a perfect example of how to put XWA's features to good use. Bravo! Three great ideas packed into one mission. Unfortunately it's not without its flaws. I wanted to give this one 5/5 but those kamikazes are toothless. They should have been targeting the ISD Greywolf instead of you. Because at least they can hit that and it would force you to quickly shoot them down. As much as I wanted to give this one a 5, unfortunately it's a 4. Gave me some great ideas, for when I will... eventually start to make missions in XWA (in a few months).

A short and fun mission to play. Your team mates seem quite useless agaisnt waves of rampaging ATRs but the experimental TIEs are easily wiped on their way out of the hangar. The mission suffers from background object issue, giving no light for custom shaders to work.

Interesting mission. It's rather funny to see a simple M/FRG blow up an Interdictor with a superlaser. Taking on waves of Assault Transports and Booster Packs was also quite fun. I can't wait to take down that Hound!

If you have not flown FREE-XWA 9, I recommend you do so before flying this mission. Installation Instructions: 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle. 2] Check the Misc folder in your XWA for additional material like patches, emails or sounds. 3] In EHBL, create a new "EH Pilot" in the Game Menu (Check "Prepare for EH Battle"). 4] Press the X-Wing Alliance button to start XWA and fly the battle. Description: On a recent assignment, you encountered the M/FRG Hound which aided us in a supply transfer. We have tracked this M/FRG, and the ISD Grey Wolf has been assigned to capture it. You, Vortex Squadron, will escort Tartarus Squadron as it disables the M/FRG Hound. ETR Presto will then arrive to capture the frigate. Be warned - from what we have seen, the M/FRG is carrying ATRs and experimental warheads and won't hesitate to use them!
