Interesting mission in terms of challenge (there's a lot of high-level enemy fighters thrown at you) let down by purely by the inevitable appearance of Rogue Squadron and bad flight orders given to the 'props' in the background (the escort carrier sits static and does nothing, whilst the Freighters seem to have Starfighter Orders judging by the way they move).
Some folk aren't happy with the fact its a mission where the primary needs to be disabled yet you have no ion weapons, but I can see the creators view in that this adds to the challenge.

Missions where your primary goal is to disable a target but you aren't given ions should be illegal when you have 4 ion capable ships that can't disable an unshielded target in 5 minutes before it hypers out.

Terrible mission. Objectives are so confusing, FRTs fly as nimble as A-Ws, the mission would fail occasionally because the CRVs died. A total disaster. Fly elsewhere.

This mission was okay, but it would have been a lot better if ESC Wobble actually had proper orders. It doesn't defend itself at all! No return fire with lasers, no hypering out, nothing. The GUNs should probably be helping take out that ESC too, or something.

I liked it. It had a good mix of dogfighting, and heavy assault. Its rare to find a mission where the dogfight is for a reason

3. Minor spelling error in goals: 'Captrue the mole'.

1. Escort Carrier remains static and does not engage the player.
2. Freighters seem to have Starfighter orders as they are moving/taking evasive action as a fighter would.

Title: Capture the Mole Missions: 1 Medal: N/A Game Platform: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter Author: FL/CPT E. Tarkin/Avenger 2-1/ISD Intrepid (erik@e-sjop.nl) #1058 Installation Instructions: 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle. 2] Check the Misc folder in your XvT one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 3] Press the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter button to start XvT and fly the battle. Description: It is a rainy evening on Coruscant when two cloaked figures walk in the mist. They are walking on the ancient streets in the old part of Coruscant. Here the New Republics security forces are outnumbered by the thieves, beggars and other lowlife that roam the streets. Security forces only come here in large numbers and even then they do not stay for very long. Therefore an ideal place for a clandestine rendezvous. The two figures enter an obscure bar with the cheesy name: "The Old Arms". The bar is a noisy, filthy place with a couple of Wookies as bouncers. The two men put of their caps and look wary around. After this quick assessment of the situation they approach the bar. During this time the regulars had taken a brief look at the men. They had seen enough of those types to know that they weren't here for the local cuisine. But then again, they really did not care and resumed with drinking beverages and talking amongst themselves. "Two beer, please", said the large one of the two to the barkeeper. The barkeeper poured their drinks but said nothing. After taking a sip, the shorter man said: "We need a place to conduct a private conversation." The barkeeper just stared at them for a few seconds. Then he nodded at the curtain hanging in the corner of the bar. After giving the man a fiver, they entered the small niche behind the curtain. In the niche there was a small table and four chairs. In one of the chairs sat a middle-aged man with a seemingly good physical condition. He is holding a small device in his hands. After he pushes a button, a high beep sound is heard. "It is good to see you, K'Tehmok", says the tall man to the man at the table. "It is always a pleasure, my friends. Tarkin, Archon, take a seat." K'Tehmok replies. Captain Tarkin and Captain Archon both take a seat at the table, facing the curtain ofcourse. "So, can we trust the barkeeper?" Archon asks. K'Tehmok chuckles. "As much trust a 100 credits can buy. Meaning, no, we can't trust him. But I did not have a choice. There is a very good reason why I had to meet you so quickly." Just two days ago Tarkin received a coded message from his old Avenger buddy, CM K'Tehmok. Currently in the Reserves, K'Tehmok still has very good contacts inside the Tie Corps. "You know, being in the Reserves has it's advantages. You can pick up information much quicker than from "normal" channels." Normal channels being the Intel Division of the EH. While being a highly effective organization, it is in essence a bureaucracy and therefore kind of slow. "I came across some intel about a NR mole inside the ASF. Now I even can't go trough the proper channels because it might alert the mole. The details are on this datapad. It seems our mole is going to return home to NR space for a full debriefing. If this happens all of the EH plans and operations will become exposed." Archon frowns. "And now you want us to clean up the mess, huh?" Archon says. K'Tehmok smiles. "Ofcourse. Or isn't Avenger able enough?" "Maybe the new guys are a bit young, there also excellent pilots and good officers. Rest assured, we can handle this." K'Tehmok sighs. "I know, just kidding. Unfortunately you will have to act fast. This mole is -if the intel checks out- currently traveling in a 'commercial' convoy heading for NR held space. It's really a Black Sun smuggling operation. They have the support of the NR, mainly because they pay them so much to carry spies and info from the EH to them. The particulars are on the datapad." The convoy consist out of several types of cargo carrying vessels and a few corvettes. A light starfighter escort force is also part of the convoy. After reviewing the data, Tarkin turns to K'Tehmok. "I assume the Rebels have a backup force?" Tarkin asks. "It is not confirmed but it is safe to say the rebels will have some kind of contingency plan." K'tehmok replies. After that short conversation the Archon and Tarkin say goodbye and leave the bar. Avenger must capture the mole. Investigate the convoy and destroy the escorts. Omega is standing by to capture it.
