I enjoyed flying a ship I hadn’t before, the ATR. Not that I actually enjoy flying the ATR as it is just a slower YT-2000 in my opinion. The story was fun, and I liked seeing Typhoon Squadron.

First 2 missions are decent but nothing remarkable. Last two missions are only possible if you hangar camp as in the third mission you are outnumbered ~ 10:1 in the fighter department, and the enemy has advanced missiles. You are not given a beam system or countermeasures to deal with them. The four a-wings die immediately as they get too close to the cruiser, leaving you to fend for yourself against 36 X-Wings and 16 Z-95 headhunters, meaning you have to keep ducking into the hangar so they don't kill you. The last mission pits you against 256 tie fighters on hard, and you are given 6 experimental ties for help. as soon as you go into the hangar once they will all die leaving you against these masses, which can easily sink your VSD and ISD through sheer numbers.

This battle started with a solid plot, excellent briefings and well curated details. The first 3 missions were interesting, having the 3rd one to be the best in the battle and one of the best I've flown so far. Dogfight to the max. But then everything derailed into an unconnected 4th and 5th missions, which force the pilot to commandeer a B-W, and what is way worse, an ATR again, but this time supposedly to destroy wave after wave of unshielded TIE Flies, sorry, Fighters. Piloting that turreted brick is really a nightmare, but what really turns it into a total torture is the number of spawning enemies. I counted over 90 T/Fs and it never seemed to end in Hard level. People, do yourself a favor and do not try this or you will end up in Sick Bay with tendinitis and a very, very sore back. Honestly, I liked the battle a lot, but this was totally unnecessary. Too bad because it was classic material.

Mostly enjoyed this one a lot. The ATR missions were something a little different, and really had a blast learning what the best turret angles were, how to approach swarms of fighters, etc. The only wart for me is the third mission - having entire squadrons focus specifically you basically just forces you to groundhog your way through the mission. Dock, dumbfire torps, dock. It's not difficult, nor entertaining, strategy. Otherwise, loved it.

A fun 4 mission battle with a somewhat quirky plot that rings true with military procurement. The plot revolves around the pursuit and capture of a Star Destroyer from the Rebels. The mission briefings and text are well laid out and were easy to follow. The missions are busy, there's plenty to get your teeth into here but are well made and cater for all difficulties. I fun batter overall and one I will have a second attempt at to get a better score.

I like what Dempsey did and how the various props were used. The introductory mission is a refreshing change from most of the custom missions out there, where you fly a tank (ATR) with guns blazing and zero maneuverability. Followed by an epic battle, whereby for once flying in a T/D feels vindicated. Will add more comments once I complete it

I wish I liked this battle. I really do. The plot was good enough, the briefings are well done. But some missions are just killing the whole battle. The one in the B-Wing is so tough that I lost interest in the battle, and the last one is just ridiculous. In general, the safest strategy is just to duck and wait...and it's boring. Too bad, it has potential but in my opinion, it wasn't a good experience.

Mission 2: ISD Wookiee's hope is positioned too close to Base Depot GX-5, meaning that it will destroy the base when trying to shoot other craft.
X-Wing Blue 5-8 and B-Wing Blue 5-8 were missing from the flight groups, it jumped from 1-4 to 9-12.
A-Wing Yellow & X-Wing/B-Wing Grey have no orders. If you disable the two bulk cruisers before destroying all craft waves, the fighters get stuck in the cruisers' hangar bays and you cannot destroy the last 2 craft in the second flight group as they are stuck in the cruiser itself.
If not disabled fast enough, bulk cruiser Mothma's Will has a flight point that will cause it to crash into the Wookie's Hope.
Mission 3: Mission hints say to dumb fire torpedoes at the strike cruiser when no strike cruiser is present. Makes mention of a ship named Burninator but no such ship exists in the mission.
Mission 4: Makes mention of a ship named Burninator but no such ship exists in the mission.

Title : The TAC's Star Destroyer Author : TAC-PROF/AD Dempsey/CS-3/SSSD Sovereign (#PIN) dempsey@slayersrealm.com Platform : X-wing Alliance Number of missions : 4 Medal : Star Destroyer Quarterboard Required patches ----------------- * none Installation instructions -------------------------- 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle 2] Create a new XWA pilot using the EHBL, make sure to check the 'prepare for EH battle' box 3] Press the X-wing Alliance button on the EHBL to start the game Introduction ------------ The TAC has her heart set on a Star Destroyer of her very own. However, the Fleet Commander has denied her request to pull one of the old decommissioned Star Destroyers out of the mothballs. Not that she was looking forward to those, since they would need a ton of work to get back into any kind of flying condition, let alone battle ready. So instead, she has decided to go find herself one that is already battle ready. Unfortunately, battle ready Star Destroyers don't grow on wroshyr trees, and the only available stash is in the hands of the New Republic. So the only course of action is to go after one of those. To do so, the TAC has requested the services of two of the Challenge's squadrons, Typhoon and Inferno, who are temporarily stationed aboard the VSD-II Sinister until the operation is complete.
