Battle Reviews

Seemed like a very nice battle but i smashed my way through it.
Well built and good story.

So, this battle is a mixed bag of goods. Enter M4, an accidentally great mission. But Genie, how can you be so sure it was accidental and not purposely good? Fly M5, one of laziest missions ever crafted. At least the mission creator even admitted it by naming the AWs Sloths. The placement of the Calamari was just... bad. His plan looked like it was, I'll pit you in a TIE Fighter so that you cannot destroy everything. Well, if you put aside a few hours and some heavy dose of patience you can actually clear it all out, but I wouldn't recommend it. You'd come out of that mission a changed pilot, if you were to attempt that.

So, as said in the beginning, a mixed bag of goods. Not the worst but definitely not the best battle out there either. The last mission, tries to be good, but fails. If you fly this battle regularly instead of chasing high scores, it is half decent.

This had some fun missions at the beginning, but the last three missions were not that great, in my opinion. The inspection mission was pretty tedious and I didn't enjoy it that much. The last mission is quite easy compared to the rest of the missions. As somebody else mentioned, it would be better if you could reload.

The earlier missions were more fun for me, since I usually enjoy flying in a tie fighter as long as the mission isn't soul crushingly difficult.

I think it's well made (most missions anyways) and well written. But I didn't much love it, even though I am normally a big fan of battles with TIE Fighter missions. A lot of it comes down to the fact that I feel like too much of this battle relies on luck and not on player skill, and I don't think luck should ever be an integral component of a mission's design.

Simplistic missions, no story. The last mission is laser grind. I do not understand why almost nobody supports reloading ordnance in their missions since even TF has this very cool option.

I really dislike flying a stock TIE Fighter. Like, really. Otherwise the battle was well built and worked properly, which is worth something. And they did give me a mission where I got to boom boom some ships, so there's that.

An enjoyable series of missions, which had a great deal of variety - always fun to fly an un-shielded TF, as it just reminds me of the many happy hours running the first TF Battle/Mission 1, when first playing the game. Some of the briefing humour made me giggle as well - well worth a read of the 'cloaked figure' dude!

Let it be know that I *hate* flying unsheilded craft! Having gotten that out of the way, this is a good battle to sharpen your skills on with a nice variety ships to fly.

A good sequel to the previous battle of this saga. The humour and the challenge remains. The 5th mission is probably the ultimate inspection mission. I think I speak for everyone who flew this battle so far when I say "We want more!"

Shinsen Gumi Saga #2 : Gunsmoke and Haze

This battle is based loosely upon the back story and history of my character, as well as MAJ Yutzka Serovich.

GUNSMOKE AND HAZE

COL NiksaVel was successful in his raid on the Black Sun's pilot academy, and brought the four pilots back to the PLT Daedalus. Airyu, Seithen, and Serovich entered the standard pilot training there, while Quicksteel chose to join the Intelligence Division.

Airyu and Quicksteel, the most adept of the group, completed their training in almost no time. Serovich and Seithen, however needed a little more grooming on their skills. While they continued their training, Airyu was stationed in Asp Squadron on board the ISD Intrepid, and Quicksteel was sent to a small ID outpost.

The time came for Serovich's final examination, a training mission based from one of the several training outposts of the Daedalus. Midway through the mission, a series of malfunctions on the craft rendered it disabled. With Serovich dead in the water, and the outpost's defenses inoperational, a small New Republic strike force hypered in.

The rest may or may not be history... that's up to you.

Mission 1: Escort the transfer of new personnel to the Intrepid

Mission 2: Duel with a pilot attempting to defect

Mission 3: Ward off the NR strike force during the rescue operation

Mission 4: Destroy the NR strike force

Mission 5: Do a quick recon flight on the NR strike force's base

Mission 6: Annihilate the NR strike force's base
