Great set of missions, which really test what this game can do. Mission 3 is totally bonkers, and really needs to be completed in a certain way (which helpfully, if you fail, it tells you how) - Mission 3 is also a long mission to complete (30 minutes for me). Good Stuff!
I definitely enjoyed this battle for its humor and some of its unusual design. It's a nice window into Wing II and the culture and times in which it depicts, with plenty of humor, which I always appreciate.
I have to dock it a point for openly hitting the mission craft limit in Mission #3, which, even with the warning in the briefing about how the player will have to navigate it, I still find to be personally unacceptable. It also has some oddities with arrival conditions in the first mission in particular that I think can confuse players (as seen by some of the incorrect bug reports posted on this mission - you need to destroy containers that don't have special cargo to get the transports to show up to take the ones that do!)
But all that aside, it's fun to play from start to finish. So while it's not perfect, I'd still recommend giving it a go - just be aware of what you're getting into
I really didn't like this battle. Partly is that it is one of the first TIE battles I have flown and I don't have the eye for the lead very good yet, but I consider mission 3 to be a bug. You shouldn't put mission critical craft such that they may not spawn if the player doesn't destroy enough of the disabled craft and containers before disabling more of the 24 fighters attacking them.
The only thing that saves this from a 1 for me is the story.
A dogfighting mission all the way. Excellent balancing and not very hard, but almost impossible to make your score improve, as every laser shot counts. The storyline is an inside joke all along and maybe some of us probably won't get the whole depth of it, but was fun nevertheless. Very recommendable for a competition.
Overal a funny and entertaining battle. Missions were creative. Kept my attention!
I challenge anyone to say something bad about this battle. It's the funniest battle ever! A must-fly.
Very easy, but also very funny! :)
I have never had a hard time keeping my composure in the cockpit before, but this Battle is hilarious. It is by far the most informal briefings I've ever seen, and it intersting to see Containers exit hyperspace by themselves :P
As the first battle I played after joining th TC, I have to say it was thoroughly enjoyed.
HAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahahahahaaaaaheeeee... Eh, you hadda be there.

Same problem as mentioned above. At about minute 12 some work pod type ships appeared but that was it

The first mission, none of the Shuttles (Colon 1-4) show up after the required containers are disabled. Hell, even after all the containers are disabled nothing happens.

Title: Colon Wars Missions: 5 Game Platform: TIE Fighter Author: FL/LC Freelancer/LAMBDA 3-1/Wing I/SSSD Sovereign (mm-2@rocketmail.com) Required patches ---------------- * none Installation instructions -------------------------- 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle 2] Check the Misc folder in your TIE95 one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 3] Press the TIE Fighter button on the EHBL to start the game 4] Create a new pilot and fly the first battle Description: Take a journey back in time. Back, BAAACCCCKK! This takes place long ago in Wing II on board the SSSD Sovereign. This is a journey into the culture of the wing at the time. The battle was made during the time it is set, but was put on hold for a long time (and alternatively forgotten for periods of time) and then brushed off. Those that remember the time enjoy it, and Omega squadron has flight tested it. The results are favorable, and as such (albeit very late) this battle was submitted. The fabled "Gud Stufff", the Khalitar family gin made famous by former WC of Wing II GN Chandler, is the prize! You are going to go and raid the delicious drink and take it for yourself. However, things are never as simple as they seem and this seemingly benign booze theft turns into more than you expected! Chandler and his assistant / former nanny prove to be more trouble than you expected, and once you've helped out a friend that you inadvertently injured, well, let's just say the plan to save yourselves from Chandler's wrath is almost as insane as the pilots of Wing II were!
