I flew this as part of Raise the Flag competition 2021. Overall, the battle seemed straightforward with no major hang-ups. There is not much to say about it. It was fun but the battle did not contain any elements that makes it stand out from nearly every other battle you have ever flown.

pretty straight forward battle, a few capture missions here and there, some capital ships to blow up. took a few tries to beat it as it was difficult at times. no issues with bugs or anything like that

This one was better than the last one the creator made. A good variety of craft to fly which is always entertaining. It is difficult with the flight speed being low on some of the craft to really go after targets, but it makes it more of a challenge. Enjoyable missions and a decent story too.

I played on Easy. There's good things and bad things about this battle. It's varied and has some cool mission ideas, but there's also a lot of waiting. In the final mission, you have to wait forever for it to finish. You also fly a shieldless TIE against waves of E/S in the final mission. It's easier to just sit back and let the AI finish it, even though it takes forever.

I don't remember in full detail the original TIE Fighter battle, just the story overall. Seems like a good adaptation. What I do remember is that in general I had to kill a LOT of Y-Wings back then in my trusted shieldless TIE Fighter. Moreso than Z95s. It's funny playing this battle with my 2021 goggles. All of a sudden it doesnt look so great. 4/5 of course, better than the typical 3 but this battle shows its dated approach despite originally being made by professionals.

Superbly recreated. Who wouldn't love to meddle in the Sepan Civil War? The missions are a pristine reproduction of the original TIE Fighter missions. Even the wavpack provides the original audio. Awesome work.

Another faithful re-creation of TIE into the XvT engine. Nothing beats starting out your Imperial career on the illustrious Station D-34. Mission #3 is a personal favourite of mine. 4 stars due to not being original content. No bugs found

Playing the TIE campaign in XvT is, in a word, joyful - all of the things I dislike about the TIE campaign (mainly the engine) are removed while most of the things I like remain. Shame you don't get the cloaked figure or General Frown's briefings, however...

Absolutely outstanding conversion of this TIE classic to XvT, including inflight speech!! It works flawlessly and I almost felt I was there again. Definitely better than half of the current XvT Compendium but we could expect no less from Ender. A big FAT THANKS, Admiral, for making it possible for us to enjoy again this splendid battle on XvT steroids! And I don't give you a 5 just because, you know... originality... :P

A nicely done Battle, with a decent storyline and good difficulty options.

1) Shuttle group Nazaar is supposed to give Bonus points if 100% of it complete mission, but I've saved their arses more than once allowing them to arrive to the VSD Protector in once piece and no Bonus points were awarded. There's no inflight message either.
2) Also, E/S group Typhon, which arrives as soon as the SPC Glas finishes docking (or is disabled but that's pretty silly, for none will ever come to repair it and the mission is screwed), hypers out almost immediately for some reason instead following orders and attacking the SPC and the SHUs.
I've only played on HARD.

Mission 5: Message indicating friendly TIE Bomber group has entered the battle appears only when the second wave launches.

The release of the Emperor's Hammer Shippatch made it possible to make full conversions of TIE battles for XvT. This conversion was made using more then just "tie2xvt", about every aspect except the actual texts was changed to get better results in XvT - however great care was taken to retain the same atmosphere as the TIE version had. This battle happens just after the Battle of Hoth and is Mareek Stele's second campaign. All official TIE Fighter missions of the first 7 battles are part of the Emperor's Hammer History. History ------- The Sepan Civil War was a conflict between the Ripoblus and the Dimok of the Sepan system for over forty years. It is unknown exactly when the conflict began, but it is known that by 8 Before Palpatine, it had raged for several decades and become sufficiently violent to draw the attention of the Galactic Republic. In an attempt to diffuse the war, three different Jedi missions were dispatched to negotiate a peace. The final mission was staffed by Jedi Knights Empatojayos Brand, Bultar Swan, and Chellemi Chuovvick. Unable to mediate the dispute, questions surrounding a potential Sepan secession from the Republic became common. The Sepan Civil War raged on through the Clone Wars and the establishment of the Galactic Empire. As Palpatine's Empire set about restoring order to the Galaxy and suppressing the growing Rebellion, the Sepan conflict was forgotten. Story Line ---------- [View Plotline.txt for the officer (de)briefings and mission hints.] Mission 1: Respond to a distress signal sent by a Ripoblus convoy under attack by a Dimok marauder force. You will fly a TIE Fighter against enemy Y-wings. Drive off the attackers and save the convoy! Mission 2: Intercept a Ripoblus retaliation attack on a Dimok science outpost. You will fly a TIE Bomber to make torpedo attacks against enemy starships and assault craft. Force the attackers to break off! Mission 3: Provide asylum to refugees fleeing the civil war. You will fly a TIE Interceptor against enemy Y-wings and shuttles. Rescue the refugees from attack by both sides! Mission 4: The Ripoblus and Dimoks now see the Empire as their common enemy. You will fly an Assault Gunboat on a special operations capture mission. Prevent the two factions from forming an alliance! Mission 5: Fly area patrol while an Escort Carrier delivers the TIE Advanced to your forces. You will fly a TIE Fighter against Z-95s and Y-wings. Defeat an attack by the combined Ripoblus and Dimok forces. NOTE ------------------- You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there) AND the EH Ship Patch for XvT. Title: TIE Fighter: The Sepan Civil War Missions: 5 Medal: Medal of Unity Authors: David Wessman and David Maxwell of Peregrine Software. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Briefings: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission 1: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "The Sepan peoples have been torn apart by civil war for generations. Each of the rival factions (the Ripoblus and the Dimoks) is guilty of committing atrocities against the other. Admiral Harkov has been given the task of bringing an end to this civil war. Your objective is to save as much of the Ripoblus convoy as possible. This will be accomplished by destroying enough of the attacking Dimoks to force the rest to withdraw. The survivors will report back to their leaders. Hopefully, their leaders will quickly realize the futility of further armed struggle." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Do as your commander orders, but pay attention to everything around you. Inspect the cargo contents of the convoy if you get the opportunity. Admiral Harkov's performance so far has not been all the Emperor had hoped for. Conflicting reports give us reason to believe everything is not as it seems in this civil war." Mission 2: FLIGHT OFFICER: "The Sepan Civil War threatens to break out in full fury. The Ripoblus are angered by the Dimoks' previous raid on their supply convoy. They are seeking revenge by attacking a Dimok space installation. The Empire's goal is to prevent this conflict from mushrooming and spilling over into neighboring star systems. Therefore, Imperial forces must stop either side from gaining the advantage. To this end, you will help to drive off the attacking Ripoblus forces before they can do too much damage to the Dimok space station. When they've taken sufficient losses they will withdraw." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "The Dimoks claim this is a scientific research station. Naturally, we are concerned to know what kind of research. As opportunity allows attempt to inspect the platform and nearby cargo containers. Anything out of the ordinary may require further actions. Be prepared to receive new orders." Mission 3: FLIGHT OFFICER: "To provide safe asylum to some Ripoblus refugees fleeing from the Sepan Civil War. They are principally scientists who are weary of the way their knowledge has been put to use. They have stolen a System Patrol Craft (SPC) and a couple of Lambda-class shuttles. The SPC isn't hyperdrive capable so it will have to dock with the Protector to transfer the refugees. The shuttles can be accomodated in our hangar." Mission 4: FLIGHT OFFICER: "To capture the leadership of both sides in the Sepan Civil War. They will be vulnerable to capture during a deep space rendezvous near Sepan 8. Their shuttle craft are to be disabled, then boarded by Stormtrooper Transports." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Keep an eye out for any large cargo carrying vessels. Search their cargo holds for any evidence of captured or stolen Imperial equipment. The Emperor is suspicious of how the Dimok and Ripoblus are arming themselves. Their industrial capacity is not sufficient to explain the quantity of weapons they have been throwing into battle. They must have another source." Mission 5: FLIGHT OFFICER: "To ensure that Admiral Harkov's flagship, the VSD Protector receives new TIE Advanced to replace the TIE Fighters and Interceptors we've lost during this operation. The Escort Carrier Tropsobor is to rendezvous with us shortly." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Do as your commander orders, and, as always, keep an eye out for anything unusual. We believe there may be another ship coming to this rendezvous. If so, we want you to inspect it if you can." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Debriefings: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission 1: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "You have helped prevent the destruction of the Ripoblus convoy. In doing so a strong and clear signal to the Dimok leadership that the Empire will not tolerate any further aggressive actions from them." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "You have uncovered some very alarming evidence. There is no legitimate way the Ripoblus could have acquired Imperial armaments. Remain vigilant. We will speak again." Mission 2: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "By intercepting a Ripoblus attack on the Dimoks we demonstrated that the Empire favors neither side in this conflict. Soon they will all learn to obey Imperial rule." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "You discovered the existence of a secret weapons lab and played a role in its capture. Congratulations, such initiative is rare!" Mission 3: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "We brought a peaceful end to this war for at least some of the people. These refugees we've rescued will be forever grateful to the Empire and the Imperial Navy!" Mission 4: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Our special operation was a success, with minimal casualties. As it turns out, the individuals we captured are not the Dimok and Ripoblus leaders, but the children of both sides' leaders. Apparently, they were to be used as hostages in a cynical attempt by each side to assure the others adherence to a new treaty. This treaty calls for an immediate suspension of hostilities between them. Furthermore, they intend to join forces against us! We had hoped to persuade them to negotiate a peace settlement under Imperial auspices. This would have been preferable to the Imperial Navy imposing a settlement. Now, it seems we have no choice... Sector HQ will not be happy about this, but we are going to need substantial reinforcements to pacify the Sepan system." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "You have uncovered further evidence that someone within the Imperial Navy is selling arms to the Dimok and Ripoblus. We must discover who this traitor is." Mission 5: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "You fulfilled your duties as required. The TIE Advanced will be entered into service immediately. It would appear that the attack was a desperate last ditch attempt to thwart Imperial ambitions in this sector. We expect this sector to be much more cooperative from now on! Since the TIE Advanced is ready for front line service, it would be wise of you to brush up on your skills for this craft in the Combat Chamber." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "The evidence you have gathered for us has been incredibly important! Shuttle Omlaut's passenger was a member of the Rebel Alliance. The individual was taken directly to Admiral Harkov and they have been alone ever since. This is very alarming in light of our investigation into the chronic shortages of equipment reported by Harkov. It seems clear he has be selling Imperial weapons and supplies to whoever has the credits... even the Rebel traitors!" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission Hints: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mission 1: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Stick with your flight leader (T/F Alpha 1). Use the Threat Display to see what Alpha 1's current target is and join in the attack. Use your targeting computer's memory presets to keep track of the Ripoblus cargo ships. You can quickly find out if any are being attacked by targeting them and pressing the 'A' key. The nearest attacking starfighter will now be targeted." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Target the modular conveyors at the start of the mission and inspect them first. Your flight leader will keep the Dimoks busy. When TRN Epsilon is launched, target it and save it in your target memory. Use the 'A' key to quickly determine when it is under attack, then intercept any attackers. You may assist Epsilon by reducing the shields of the modular conveyors. When the escort shuttles arrive, be careful. They are tough to kill, so fly evasively and don't get too close!" Mission 2: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Stay with your flight leader and assist his attacks. You will be more effective fighting as a group. Also, enemy gunners are more likely to become confused when facing multiple threats. This ensures that you won't have to take all of the defensive fire by yourself!" DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Wait until the Ripoblus are on the run before inspecting the platform and containers. Try to have a full load of torpedoes ready so you can take out the Escort Shuttles as soon as they turn on Imperial forces. They will concentrate their attacks on Transport Epsilon." Mission 3: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Break up the Y-wing's attack runs. Pick one and fire at it until it starts evading, then fire at the next one. Use the "assign current target to wingman" command to gang up on a single ship. When the "nearest unknown" turns out to be one of the refugee's ships, press "A" to target its attacker (if there is one). Gang your flight group up on this target." Mission 4: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Immediately after both leader's shuttles are disabled, attack the nearest Escort Shuttles. Use as many as 4 concussion missiles to reduce its shields quickly, then finish it with lasers. Concentrate on the E/Ss and try to remain close to the Transports." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "During the intense firefight with the enemy starfighters, keep an eye out for any large cargo carrying vessels. Be sure to inspect them." Mission 5: ---------- FLIGHT OFFICER: "Follow the orders you receive over the radio. That is, take out the Y-wings first, then help T/F Delta with the Z-95s. Protect the TIE Bombers as much as you can. They will be attacking with rockets, (and doing a lot of damage) but they're pretty vulnerable to the Headhunters." DARK BROTHERHOOD: "Disregard the order to return to the hangar immediately and inspect Shuttle Omlaut instead."
