Advancement in rank (promotions) and the bestowment of awards are very important to the continuing operation of the Battleteams, Houses and Clans of the Brotherhood. With this, our most basic, active members of the Brotherhood — meaning you — will rise to ever greater heights. Simply put, if you are active and contribute, you will be properly recognized and awarded. This is why a promotion and award system exists. There are many more ranks in the Brotherhood which you can view in the Dark Side Compendium. In your effort to gain enlightenment, you will grow very powerful, and with power comes dominion.
The following are examples of ranks and awards that exist for the membership and typical ways to attain them.
The lowest rank, it is given to new members of the Brotherhood who have not yet completed their training towards darkness. Many hundreds of apprentices are never strong enough to complete their training. Are you?
This is the introductory rank for members entering the Dark Brotherhood for the first time. If a Sith's interest is held, Novice is generally a rank held for a short amount of time; any sign of interest, energy, and assistance to the Dark Brotherhood is an indication that you may not be a Novice for long, but only if you follow the orders of your superiors. If you have reached Novice, you have done more than many that came before you.
You can get this rank by doing one simple task: completing a very basic form of activity (submitting a pilot file, writing a story, or playing in a Jedi Knight or Star Wars: The Old Republic match, for instance). From here, there are many more ranks. Once you reach the rank of Sith Knight, one of the most exciting, you can construct and wield your lightsaber — a rite of passage for all Sith.
This is the basic merit medal of the Brotherhood. It is awarded for participating and contributing to your House or Clan. To gain the Cross is a notable achievement.
A step up from the Dark Cross, this medal is given for consistent, dedicated activity to your House. Participating in many competitions or having outstanding service to your House may earn you this award. Can you do what it takes to earn the Star of Eos...or awards far beyond it?
