RHO SQUADRON REPORT #20 |
REPORTING OFFICER: Rear Admiral Alexandre Morgan, Squadron Commander RECIPIENTS: General Gilbert H. Frown, Wing II; cc: Rho Squadron DATE SUBMITTED: 08.11.2023 |
SQUADRON COMMANDER'S CORNER |
(Morgan sat at his desk, a blank document open for him to compose his report, but no words came easily. The memories and emotions of his time as squadron commander came easily, sure – the exhaustion and joy of the late nights in the sim pods joking around with squadmates; the pride and warmth seeing his squadron become a family during ReMob; the excitement of the new TIE/rh Rhodium ships; the happiness at the squadron’s demonstration of skill against the Ishtari – but it was all hard to translate into words. It was a bittersweet moment for him. He was stepping down from the commander spot, but he wasn’t going away – his time priorities had suddenly shifted, and he couldn’t do it all anymore. Morgan had promised he’d visit Balain as much as possible. He’d enjoy the Flight Member life for sure, the lack of paperwork and meetings a welcome change, as well as the increased leave time. And there was no doubt in his mind the squadron was in capable hands. COL fr0Zen was to step back up to the plate, and nobody bleeded Rho Squadron quite as much as he did. And while LC Davalorn was to take fr0Zen’s SQXO spot, repeating history quite poetically, there was a new addition to the command structure for the squadron: LCM Isabis Kamaria was to rise to the Flight III Leader spot, and begin to learn the ropes of command from two of the best. The quiet hiss of his door opening brought Morgan back to his reality. Cam stepped through, or at least a female officer so unbelievably nondescript that it had to be a generated hologram. “You all ready?” she asked. “I’ve got to finish this report, and then yes. Is the ship set up?” “The Homeward Bound’s in the hangar. The sooner we get it out of there, the sooner Mix will stop fretting himself into a frenzy,” she laughed. Morgan chuckled, and pointed to one of the pictures on the walls. “While you wait on me, can you bring that to my new quarters?” Cam looked at the one I had selected, and raised her eyebrows. “I’m surprised you had it made up so quickly, and a physical copy at that.” It was a squad photo, the entirety of Rho Squadron smiling, arm in arm, standing in front of one of the newly created TIE/rh Rhodium craft. Its silvered hull and the pilot’s medals on their dress uniform shone in the Tusorixian sun, only outglowed by the smiles on the pilot’s faces. It was the family portrait. “Rush job, had to have it before I left,” Morgan explained. Cam nodded, took the photo, and walked out, tossing a casual salute on the way out. Morgan sat back in his chair and sighed. “One final report, and then I can leave. Let’s do it.”
Pilots of the Rho Family, It’s been the biggest honor, the highest privilege, and the most fun to serve as Rho’s commander for these past seven months. I’ll keep this brief, because it’s no longer my moment to blab on about how great we are – I am very happily passing that mantle to fr0, who’s done it with skill and beauty before and will again – but I would be remiss to not sing praises once more. These past months, our squadron became our family. We flew, we wrote, we designed (more on this soon…), and we became the group that the whole TIE Corps can look to in envy. I’m proud of my family, and I’m beyond grateful for my time at the head of it. Our most recent achievement (approved only hours ago) is one of our biggest, and one of the biggest out of any squadron in the TIE Corps recently, too. The custom ship that six of us have spend the last month designing was finally approved! Check out the TIE Rhodium section below.

TIE/rh RHODIUM |
The TIE/rh Rhodium has officially been approved by command, and will be available for us to implement on the site soon! This has led to our new temporary motto, which you should all take a look at for the limited time it's available... hehehe Check out the official discord announcement for all the details, but in summary: our new ship, designed by myself, Davalorn, fr0Zen, Isabis, Maston, and Ispep, kicks official ass. We compiled a proposal document with fiction, graphics, and technical details, an amazing product. I encourage all y'all to read through the whole thing here and be truly amazed by the work this team created over the month we worked on it! |
COMPETITIONS |
The full list of current competitions can be found in the Competitions Center.
War(rior) Correspondents (Davalorn) General Frown has requested that all pilots begin recording their heroic exploits to be used for propaganda, recruiting, and boosting morale for the folks back home. Pilots are encouraged to use in-game methods (such as turning off HUD elements) to improve the quality of their screenshots. Winning submissions for each category will be determined at the end of each month by a popular vote. For August, the category is Empire at War.
Wondering Warriors Trivia (Davalorn) Five trivia questions will be sent out each week using the Timed Test feature on the site. Correct answers earn points and the quickest response times (time taken between starting and submitting test) get more points!
