ISDII Hammer Weekly Ship Report
ISDII HAMMER REPORT #145

REPORTING OFFICER: Admiral Miles 'Tails' Prower, Commodore
DATE SUBMITTED: 31 December 2019

INTRODUCTION
Well pilots, today is the last day of the year! I must apologise for my absence for most of the month as I had to shuttle back and forth to Columbus since my father had to have testing and surgery for cancer we discovered in his mouth and neck last month. I'm happy to report that the surgery was uneventful and the healing process has begun. Poor old guy can't eat solid food yet but he's mobile, talking and he's looking better than how he started.

Evaluations are coming up yet again and I've already got one in and done. Let's have those submitted no later than January 4th, please.

At Lt. Mirei Seppen's suggestion, I established a run-on for roleplaying on the EH Message Boards: http://mb.emperorshammer.org/viewtopic.php?f=146&t=2062

We've also had some personnel changes. LC Zekk Terrik left Alpha Squadron to lead Sin Squadron. This seems to continue a tradition as I recall when a certain Hav Antiel left Epsilon Squadron to also lead Sin. Well, the flagship is where we produce the leadership for the fleet after all :P In the meantime we picked up SL Shiikal Jai'galaar in Delta Squadron.

Please ensure that you conduct yourselves accordingly during the New Years celebrations and don't get picked up by the State Scout-troopers on your way home. You can tell them from regular stormtroopers because of that wide brim on their helmet, aviator style visor and the scent of Winston Reds. We'd rather have you taking a droid-taxi home rather than in the clink or worse :P

Time Masters (1982)
Genre: Science Fiction
This animated film is an adaptation of 'The Orphan of Perdide', a 1958 sci-fi novel by French author Stefan Wul. While there are a number of changes from book to film, it is still an exceptional adaptation and I highly recommend it. The art is done by Jean 'Moebius' Giraud, who is well known for his influential art style, but mostly known to Western audiences for doing the art direction for the animated movie 'Heavy Metal'.

Now why am I beating around the bush on explaining this movie despite it being one of my favourites of all time?

Well, to be honest, not much can be said without massively spoiling the movie. To be as brief as possible, the movie is a rescue film. A boy is trapped on a planet and his father calls a friend to come rescue him. The father dies and the rest of the movie is traveling to rescue the boy while incidents happen to the pilot that is heading there. I would recommend going into this movie completely blind. If you Google much on it, you will ruin the twist at the end, which is a good twist.

One warning: This is not a kids movie. If you are familiar with Heavy Metal (1981), then you will know what I mean.
