This would be a really good mission for a competition. There's a lot going on and it would reward skilled players who were adept with the decoy beam. Wave management is important - you are sometimes better off leaving an enemy alive so their next wave doesn't launch.

I played on Easy. At its core, this mission is very simple, but there's a lot of secondary stuff going on. It might be worth a shot to look at this battle on a higher difficulty or explore the secondary objectives.

The interdictor was a good touch. Capital ships need to have more teeth and even be equipped with missile defenses to make it more difficult to take them down.

Poorly planned mission. Why is it so frequent that some creators provide underperforming warhead loadouts on the GUN? More than challenging feels like budgetary cuts, and no one is paying. Please, give the GUN it's proper Rockets. Advanced Torpedoes are good for disabling craft or delightful blue lines. A shame, because this mission could have been better if not for the sore trigger finger.

I didn't think it was so 'easy' The A-wings and Z-95s were pretty tough, and taking down a INT at 150% sheilds by yourself with no warheads isn't so easy either :P. It was a pretty good mission tho

If you want to make an EASY mission, definitely include the possibility to fly with a Decoy Beam, this mission has no bugs, and it could be hard if you dont understand the mission's dynamics... but once you figure it out, it is one of the easiest missions you can fly... its no bad, but its too easy...
There are currently no open bug reports for this battle.

X-Wing vs Tie Fighter Free Mission Title: ASF: ESC Corrupter Missions: 1 Medal: Corrupted Datadiscs Author: FL-SCOA-TCT-TCS/CM Ender mBind/Echo 2-1/Wing XV/ISD Vanguard (mindb_ender@hotmail.com) Game Platform: X-Wing vs Tie Fighter Combat Mission: 1 (inc briefing, radiomessages etc for both teams) Release Date: 29/jun/2002 Ships: All Flyable Craft Difficulty: Playable. Filename: ASFCORRUPTER.zip File contents: ASFCMBS8.TIE, IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST, REBEL.LST, ASFCMBM8.TIE, IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST, Readme.txt Hardware used: Celleron 450Mhz, GForce II Ultra, 194Mb Software used: XvTed, notepad. THESE LEVELS ARE NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. ELEMENTS TM & (c) LUCASARTS ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. Installation ------------ note: the original .lst files in your train and combat files will be overwritten, you will not loose access to your exsisting Combat missions but because of EHTAC regulations the Training missions are replaced. IMPORTANT! ONLY USE THE SINGLE PLAYER MISSIONS (TRAINING MISSIONS) FOR HIGH SCORE SUBMISSION. 1] Double click the .EHM file, the EH Battle Launcher will install the battle. 2] Check the Misc folder in your XvT one for additional material like patches, sounds etc. 3] Press the X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter button to start XvT and fly the battle. - Place these files into your /Combat directory: IMPERIAL.LST, MISSION.LST, REBEL.LST, ASFCMBM8.TIE - Create a new pilot for the mission based on your name or PIN and the mission number. For example, SL Stele playing Free Mission 80 would make a new pilot file named "StelFM80." or a Pilot with PIN 2883 playing Free Mission 69 would make a new pilot file named "2883fm69" - Begin flying the first training mission, fly on till you've finished training mission #1 Description ----------- This mission is part of a series of free missions about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are interconnected and have the ASF Squadrons join together against a common foe. In storyline these happen after the larger Wing Battles. Story Line ---------- Under way to deliver the data discovered on the Geonosis warhead to Aurora Prime, the ESC Corrupter has been pulled out of hyperspace by a NR Spine Security Force Interdictor that was laying in wait near a small asteroidfield for just an ambush like this. This seem to be the last chance for the NR-SSF to stop these plans from going to the EH Science Office and they seem to be set on destruction now - rather destroying these valuable designs completely then letting them be put to use by the EH. The Corrupter is being besieged by three squadrons and a Strike Cruiser while the Interdictor stays in the cover provided by the asteroidfield. Both sides have also called in for reinforcements, which can arrive any moment now... NOTES ------------------- COMBAT NOTE: For this mission to work in MP, all players must have it installed on the same mission number, in this case "133". Preferably do not change this number. FCHG NOTE: TAC won't let you fly Combat Missions or XWA Skirmishes for FCHG Points, use the Single player mission for all TC flying outside of combat competitions. GENERAL: You need XvT (or at least all the ships involved there), as far as i know no other patches are needed. To fly in Combat all players need the same version, make sure you all have the update by lucasarts installed. SINGLE PLAYER: This mission was made as a Combat Mission, its goal is to be fair to both sides so it can be played instead of a regular melee. MULTI PLAYER: For multiplayer this mission supports 3vs3. Other Information ----------------- This is the first release of a very quickly made and hardly tested mission. Bugs could arrise - please mail me if they do - also if you have hints, death threats, questions or apraisals.FL-SCOA-TCT-TCS/CM Ender mBind/Echo 2-1/Wing XV/ISD Vanguard GSx2/SSx4/BSx4/PCx5/ISMx15/MoI/MoT-22rh-35gh-3bh/IS-1SR-1PR/LoC-PSx101/DFC/CoS/CoL/CoB/LoAx2/OV-2E [PLDN] {IWATS-AIM-GFX-ICQ-IIC/1/2/3-M/1/2-SM/2-TM-TT-XAM-XTM-XTT}
