An excellent battle with a compelling narrative, very balanced gameplay and no major issues. The tie defender really shines in all the roles that it is capable of performing and there is ample opportunity to really rack up the points.

One of the best of Dempsey's long list of golden creations. This battle is hard as expected, and has that extra twist about tactical planning, if the player wants to dry up all the juice in it. Tricky mission, dodging advanced missiles in the thousands, fighting swarms of fighters and an excellent plotline, that I repeat, will push the player to the limit if going for High Scores. Fly the Space Cadillac. The can-do-all and more starfighter. The mighty, the unparalleled, the trustful, TIE Defender. Also flying the Überbomber, aka the MIS, againts T/Ds and T/As, while protecting and bombing, and with no reload craft available, is going to be a tough assignment. Tough. One of the toughest. One of my favourites.

Both the briefing and the gameplay are fully controlled and ... almost flawless. The storyline is also interesting with a nice twist at the end. Nothing too big, will not give any spoilers. I played it on hard and it was evident everything was measured. However, typical of Dempsey to make the missions quite frustrating especially when attempting to go for a high score. Well guess what. I broke almost every record in this battle and on Mission #3 I stayed and fought as ludicrous and tedious as that was. Excellent battle; I am sure it is not everyone's cup of tea. Giving it a 5 out of 5. Just be warned, it does have its moments of frustration, especially if you play it on hard.

I didn't like this battle. Missions 2 and 3 were basically you trying to do something while evading advanced missiles and the last mission is a bit confusing. Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like I had to install the EHSP just to see one ship in the last mission.
