It's OK. Not a lot of threats towards the mission objections - my own ships destroyed the shuttle we needed to disable in Mission 1, that was about my only issue. Some wonderful ship arrangement in this one though!

Notes:
Mission 1 – No pressure on objectives
Mission 2 – simple hit and run. Don’t remember if fighters were targeting me.
Mission 3 – Simple mission, big goals.
Mission 4 – Interesting use of ships to make a station. Plenty of fighter pressure but would have liked to see the “station” defend itself.
Overall:
This battle was straightforward, with each mission being single objective with a couple of them also having a defend element. I would have liked to see the stations defend themselves. Overall, they were fun.

Storywise it's a continuation of XW-TC 4 and XW-TC 5 and surely it was more enjoyable to fly than the previous two as well. There only mission that stands out from the pattern is mission 1, where you have to cover a capture operation. Mission 2 was quite nicely balanced, even if it's just a strike and wipe it all out type. I have a feeling your T/A escorts is absolutely not needed for that one. In the last mission enemy T/As come quite late to the party to change anything. And they come in pairs too. Be sure to engage them alone for a massive score boost. You can wipe up entire squadron by yourself with ease.

The game will take its mission information by preference from the hard disk, but might still give a warning. In that case - Ignore. 2. I cannot assure it will run on X-W disk as it might exceed its maximum craft amounts. You'd need the B-Wing and Imperial Pursuit add-ons to play. Description ----------- This battle is part of a series of free missions and now battles about each of the squadrons in the ASF doing missions following their squadron objective in their assigned craft. Each mission tries to give a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe. In timeline this battle takes place just after the free m issions. Part 3 of a Trilogy about Avenger Elite Squadron. Story Line ---------- MISSION 1: "CRS War Maker was damaged in the last battle and is now without shields and hyperdrive. Obviously this is not a chance we'd let slip. Crusader Squadron will hyper in and disable the cruiser while Avenger takes care of its defences. L/FRG Charger is on standby and ready to deploy storm troopers. This boarding party should be sufficient to beat the War Maker's crew. The War Maker Crew will probably try to get away. SHU [Harbinger] is on standby in case they do. We're interested in the Captain and his documents - destroy all other escaping craft. Avenger's main task in this is to prevent rebels from escaping or damaging our boarding craft. Make sure the Cruiser gets disabled as quickly as possible by escorting Crusader." MISSION 2: "The Emperor's Hammer has decided that we need to get rid of these Chung Kuo terrorists. We cannot afford to have these Chemical Weapon manufacturers in our territories - and certainly not if they deliver to the New Republic Spine Security Force. We will start with the distribution centre we visited earlier in this operation - but this time with an entirely different agenda. To quote GA Ronin on this subject: "Wipe them out, all of them." The highest priority is the base itself and the cargo carrying vessels - which might be loaded with weaponry." MISSION 3: "Interrogation of the Cruiser Captain we caught plus analysis of his files has finally told us where the Chung Kuo are making their chemical weaponry: It's a hidden base in the Minos Cluster - which is basically our own territory... So obviously it has to go. En route to the Chung Kuo base we've been blocked by a Spine Security Force Cruiser. We've called in reinforcements, our escorts, but most likely so has the enemy Cruiser. Avenger Squadron is to destroy the Cruiser as quickly as it can so we can finally put an end to this whole business." MISSION 4: "Our long search for the source of the Chemical Weapons has finally come to an end: We've arrived at the Chung Kuo Chemical Weapons Factory. The VSDII Aggressor will be deploying TRN Invader armed with torpedoes to utterly destroy the base. Avenger Squadron will escort them and protect the Aggressor from counter attacks. The Chung Kuo apparently prefer to use older Imperial fighters over Rebel ones. This would indicate that they have a lot of available pilots, something which is strange because we never heard of them before. The fact that this base is actually in EH Territory and well hidden also puzzles our tacticians... ... While the destruction of this factory will end this operation for the VSDII Aggressor and Avenger Squadron it does seem very likely that we'll encounter these "Chung Kuo" again. Perhaps even in the most unexpected place of all: our own ranks..."SCO-TCT-TCS-PROF/FA Ender mBind/CS-10/SSSD Sovereign GOE/GSx2/SSx7/BSx4/PCx7/ISMx16/MoI/MoT-35rh-56gh-6bh/IS-1SR-2GR-1PR/LoC-TS-Rx1/DFC-Rx1/CoS/CoE/CoL/CoB/LoAx2/OV-3E [CNTR] {IWATS-AIM-GFX-ICQ-IIC/1/2/3-JS-M/1/2-OPT-SM/2-TM-TT-XAM-XTM/1/2-XTT} ===== Corrections on 2003.07.31 by Philo (CA:TAC): Minor spelling and grammar corrections
