Specifications:
A modified version of the TIE Bomber, the Boarding Craft is used to transport a contingent of Stormtroopers to perform boarding operations against smaller craft where a full shuttle would not be appropriate. This craft is equipped with a tractor beam and a hull-cutting airlock which allows it to perform its specified task. While it did have a shield generator, it did not have a hyperdrive available.
Specifications:
Another design derivative of the TIE Bomber, the TIE Shuttle was used to transport important officers or small squads of Stormtroopers. Easily recognized by the twin hull design, but with the solar arrays bent outwards rather than in, giving this craft a very distinct and unique appearance. It retained the TIE Bomber’s twin laser cannons, and included a shielding system, but was not equipped with a hyperdrive, limiting its use to shuttling personnel within the same system.
Specifications:
While a far deviation from a traditional TIE design, the TIE Reaper is instantly recognizable as being of the same family. Featuring a large solar array on the top of the craft that sweeps forward into dagger points, the Reaper is another immediately distinguishable variant. With a transport compartment, the Reaper is primarily used to insert elite troops into the heart of a battle. Featuring shields and a hyperdrive both, the Reaper is a craft equally capable in atmosphere or the vacuum of space.
Specifications:
Featuring notched rectangular solar arrays, the TIE Droid was essentially a TIE Fighter flown by a droid brain. It maintained the TIE/LN’s lack of shields and hyperdrive, and the same armament. It was determined that the droid brain was far less effective in combat than a live pilot, and coupled with the relatively high price per craft, that the widespread use of TIE Drones to be unfeasible.
