"The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force"

- Lord Darth Vader

Long before the superweapon technological terrors were constructed, Sith Lords crafted devices to focus the immense power of the Force.

Corsair The Corsair was a modified Derriphan-class Battleship, constructed prior to 5000 BBY. In addition to the impressive weaponry carried by a normal ship of this class, Naga Sadow equipped his flagship with powerful Force-enhancing crystals. These alchemical creations allowed Sadow not only full control of the vessel, but the ability to tap into and channel the raw Force itself to trigger supernovae. Naga Sadow used this unique capability to cover his retreat and escape from Empress Teta's forces during the Great Hyperspace War. Sadow first destroyed the red super-giant star Primus Goluud, followed by the binary stars of the Denarii system before fleeing to Yavin IV.

Once on the jungle moon, Sadow enslaved the Massassi race, forcing them to bury the Corsair beneath a temple constructed in his honor. Naga Sadow placed himself in suspended animation inside another temple to await the Golden Age of the Sith prophesied by Marka Ragnos.

Naga Sadow slumbered until discovered by Freedon Nadd in 4400 BBY. After learning the ancient Sith Lord's secrets Nadd murdered Sadow and left Yavin IV. The Corsair was unearthed 3 years later by Massassi enslaved by Exar Kun, and turned over to the Krath Aleema Keto. After learning the secrets of operating the Corsair, Aleema intended to betray Exar Kun. The Sith Lord anticipated her coup and sent Aleema and the Corsair to attack the Republic world of Kemplex IX. Once there, Aleema was surrounded by the Republic fleet, and she used the Corsair to detonate the ten stars of the Cron Cluster. The titanic blast destroyed both Sith and Republic fleets, the contested planet, and created the Cron Drift Nebula.

With the annihilation of 13 star systems and untold havoc wreaked in surrounding sectors, the Corsair is easily the most destructive superweapon in galactic history.

Dark Reaper Rather than focusing the power of the Force as the Corsair did, the Dark Reaper's power source was the Force itself. First constructed during the Great Hyperspace War circa 5000 BBY, this terror weapon utilized hundreds of Sith to literally drain the Force energy from any lifeforms within a short range, killing them instantly. Energies harvested from living beings were converted into power for propulsion and deadly Dark Side turbolasers, capable of destroying almost any ship with a single blast. The weapon was lost in the confusion after the Great Hyperspace War.

1000 years later Exar Kun unearthed the Dark Reaper and began modifications. The previous design required a great many Sith and was very inefficient. Kun designed the Force Harvester, an automated device that improved not only efficiency but range as well. Now the Dark Reaper could drain entire worlds of their Force energy, leaving barren graveyard planets in its wake. The Force Harvester modification produced a truly terrifying weapon that Kun used to great effect during the Sith Wars. Only the intervention of Jedi Ulic Qel-Droma, who learned to resist the effects of the Force Harvester, allowed Jedi forces to defeat the Dark Reaper. Its pieces were scattered to the far corners of the known galaxy to prevent anyone from ever utilizing this horrific weapon again.

The Dark Reaper lay in pieces for almost four millennia, largely forgotten and remembered only in frightened whispers, until the Confederacy of Independent Systems unearthed the Force Harvester on the junk world of Raxus Prime in 22 BBY. Count Dooku quickly realized what a valuable prize he had and immediately set about discovering the other pieces to reassemble the Dark Reaper.

Dooku's forces quickly found the remaining pieces and reassembled the superweapon, while the Force Harvester's first operational test occurred over Kashyyyk's moon of Alaris Prime, obliterating the Wookiee colony and all other life.

Jedi and Republic forces, led by Mace Windu, pursued the Force Harvester but were unable to prevent minor attacks on Dac, Agamar, Mon Calamari, and Bakura, which Dooku used to continue powering the device. After delving into the Jedi Library's historical records, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker learned of how Ulic Qel-Droma first resisted the Dark Reaper. He journeyed to the Jedi's tomb on Rhen Var and learned the secrets from Ulic's spirit.

A pitched battle resulted on the ancient Sith world of Thule, where Dooku journeyed to finally integrate the Force Harvester into the completed Dark Reaper. The Force Harvester glowed a deep purple and threatened to wipe out all life on Thule, but Anakin Skywalker was able to target and destroy the Harvester. The resulting explosion destroyed the Dark Reaper forever and laid waste to Kessia, Thule's capital city.
