INFERNO SQUADRON NEWS:

--- ORDERS FOR ALL INFERNO PILOTS:

(1) Fly TC-TIE #165 - The Hunt for Zsinj against your fellow Inferno pilots. The winner will be awarded an Iron Star, Bronze Ribbon.

(2) Submit suggestions for a new Inferno Motto. I will announce the winner on February 3.

(3) Will we ever fly in the SSL 2000 Semifinals? I sure hope so! Fly the TIE Free Mission for the SSL 2000 Semifinals as soon as Wolly gets off his @$$ and announces it. I am expecting all pilots to fly the mission. Provide the best hints for getting a high score directly the pilots of Wing X (wingx-announce@egroups.com) and earn a PC!

(4) Add a part of the story in the form of a mission when the Inferno Battle Project Run-on story gets to you. LCM Ace has the file now. Next would be LCM Triji Boliv, LT Bora Yar, COL Jack, and LT Oskar Holtz.

(5) Consider designing a brief mission for either TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, or X-Wing Alliance to be selected for the Jedi Convention 2001 held in Cologne, Germany this Easter. Details available at http://www.tiecorps.org/tac/contest.html

--- CPT CALVIN NUNB UNVIELS THE NEW INFERNO MESSAGE BOARD
Calvin has upgraded the interface of the interim version of the new official Inferno message board. In the future, it will have additional functionality and multiple threads (like the TIE Corps board and most other boards on the 'Net). The URL is:

--- COL JACK AWARDED COMMENDATION OF LOYALTY
Long Serving COL Jack, former Tempest and Thunder Commander, Inferno Flight Three Leader, Naval Corps Task Force Crusader TUC, and Task Force Monitor Commander has been awarded the Commendation of Loyalty on the occassion of the sixth anniversary of the Emperor's Hammer. Perviously awarded members of this order in Inferno include COL Manitsas and CPT Calvin Nunb.

--- COL MANITSAS INTERVIEWED BY LCM KRAX TARNISAR
LCM Krax Tranisar has been researching the history of both the ISD Challenge and ISD Relentless, which once comprised Battlegroup Two. As part of that effort, he has been interviewing me. The interview will be published after it is complete.

The Inferno@isdchallenge.org alias has been updated with all of our current e-mail addresses. This will allow us to send messages to include the entire squadron with a single e-mail address.

Pilots CMDR/COL Manitsas, CM Corran Halcyon, LT Bora Yar, CPT Calvin Nunb, LCM Edvard, COL Jack, and LCM Triji Boliv submitted TFRs. LCM Ace, CM Locke, and LT Oskar Holtz did not fly this mission. LCM Talon Zetar STILL does not own TIE! LCM Suiral Larius had flown this mission before joining Inferno, but was unable to submit his TFR in time!

--- INFERNO MOTTO CONTEST
The authority to award an ISM for suggesting the winning motto has been denied by the Training Office. Reason for denial: Non-flying competitions within a squadron can no longer be awarded medals. Please continue to send in your suggestions. None of the suggestions so far click with me. There is no chance that Inferno will have a motto that goes along the lines "We will squash you into a messy pulp, you ugly Rebel." Joke mottos are also out. They're funny, but are not what I'm looking for in a motto. A motto that is excessively long is also a no-go. I am looking for a motto that is parsimonious (short), dignified, and preferably (but not necessarily) makes reference to fire in some form. Also, making reference to our primary mission of interdiction would be a nice bonus. Here are the sugesstions so far. Keep them comming!
