INFERNO SQUADRON NEWS:
--- ORDERS FOR ALL INFERNO PILOTS:
(1) Fly TC-TIE #165 - The Hunt for Zsinj in our competition with Tempest. It is due February 17. Despite what the Training Office says, the winning top gun will get an Iron Star with BRONZE wings. To check out the competition's details, go to http://www.imperialacademy.org/compdetails.asp?ID=369.
(2) Write a Battlegroups or TIE Corps themed fiction. Try for at least 200 words, but participation is FAR more important than spelling. I want EVERY pilot to write. See the section on Cantina Run III below!
(3) Compete in the Training Office plot comp! Details are at http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/plotcomp/
(4) Add a part of the story in the form of a mission when the Inferno Battle Project Run-on story gets to you. LCM Bora Yar has the file now. Next would be COL Jack, and LT Oskar Holtz, and LCM Ace.
(5) Recruit new pilots to the EH or to Inferno.
(6) Consider designing a brief mission for either TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, or X-Wing Alliance to be selected for the Jedi Convention 2001 held in Cologne, Germany this Easter. Details available at http://www.tiecorps.org/tac/contest.html
(7) The SSL 2000 Semifinals only await a starting announcement. Provide the best hints for getting a high score directly the pilots of Wing X (wingx-announce@egroups.com) and earn a PC!

But I thought YOU checked the airlock! I am sad to say that it seems that LCM Ace Lasbot's AOL Account "JClando111" has gone inactive. That means he is listed as MIA unless he can contact me.

In the words of Vice Admiral Corran Force: "He has been a very highly active pilot this past month and has very much participated in almost every activity that is currently going on. This rec is also agreed to by COL Darklord [Wing Commander] and COL Manitsas [CMDR]." Here in the battlegroups we appreciate such activity. If you looked at his MSE Record you would have found one that rivals some of our best flag officers and CS Members on the basis of activity. Good job, captain!

--- CM LOCKE COMMANDS TEMPEST, FOLLOWED BY LCM SEPHIROTH
Our recently retired CM Locke, has found a new zeal for activity with his triumphant return to active service as the new Tempest Commander. He has approved the Tempest Patch I created, and has agreed to a competition between our two squadrons using TC-TIE Battle 165. The due date will be February 17, and the top gun of the WINNING squadron will get an Iron Star with Bronze Wings. Locke's personal friend, LCM Sephiroth, left Inferno to transfer to Tempest yesterday.

Sorry, I had to wipe the board again to fix the timestamp bug. The next build of the board (with multiple-thread support) should be much more stable. Ignore the big numbers next to the timestamps, they are there to help me fix any more timestamp-related bugs that may arise.
I have also added an option to send the message body of one's post to inferno@isdchallenge.org. This, of course, allows bulletins to be posted and sent to the squad at the same time. However, until I figure out how to code MIME into an e-mail's headers, raw HTML will be displayed and PHP will automatically add backslashes behind apostrophes and quotation marks. So, don't use HTML and stay away from ' and " until I get MIME support working.

WING X NEWS

--2. LC Zulaan has stepped down from command of Tempest, and our former Flight III leader from Inferno is the new Commander. Congratulations Commander Locke of Tempest!
TIE CORPS NEWS
--1. Congratulations to FO Theodore, who is now the father of a baby girl! Theodore has retired from active duty, leaving AD Priyum Patel (spellfire@btinternet.com) as our new Flight Officer. Congratulations to both!
--2. Many new battles and missions were released this past week, and are all announced at the TIE Corps site.
--3. Operation: Cantina Run III starts February 24th, 2001 with three phases to determine the next Battlegroups flagship and Battlegroup Commander Escort Squadron.
Phase I- Fiction Writing: February 24th, 2001 - March 7th, 2001
Phase II- Graphics Design: March 10th, 2001 - March 17th, 2001
Phase III- Mission Flying Contest: March 19th - March 31st, 2001
The reason for the early heads-up is to give the Battlegroups a "head start" for the Fiction Writing phase, an operation that usually takes the longest. The theme is simply anything that involves the Battlegroups, but only the Battlegroups. For example, don't write about the Dark Brotherhood or the Imperial Senate, just Battlegroups and TIE Corps. That doesn't mean you can't make mention of other things, though.
The official kickoff is on February 24th. That day the official starting E-mail will be sent and the website will be operational. Updates will occur thoughout the event, and the results for each phase will be given out between the phases. The scoring system will be announced then, but now I will tell you that participation will count for immense bonus points.

Stay the whole night and smack down all comers, or duke it out with a particular foe or friend to show who's boss!
