Inferno Report # 0 (2001-03-10)

Inferno Squadron Report
A-CMDR/CPT Calvin Nunb -- March 10, 2001

(Sorry, I'm not going to put red text on a black background like Halcohol did when he was A-CMDR :-)

Squadron News:

Orders for all Inferno pilots:

(1) The current phase for Exercise Cantina Run is graphics. Just make something Battlegroups-related (besides a uniform...) and submit it to Colonel Manitsas by the 17th. 100% participation in this phase and in the flying phase will be critical to defeat the Relentless. Yes, I also know we have some graphical skills in this squad that we can show off -- and our other squadrons do too, but of course we want Inferno submissions to make the top three placings.

(2) Fly TC-TIE Battle #167 for the Wing X Honor Guard Competition. TFRs are due to Colonel Manitsas by the 14th. If you don't have the (rather large) attachment that came with the last report, you can download the battle here.

(3) Add a part of the story in the form of a mission when the Inferno Battle Project Run-on story gets to you. COL Jack has the file now. Next would be LT Oskar Holtz.

(4) Recruit new pilots to the EH or to Inferno. Explicit recruitment is only allowed on the Recruitment Board, but e-mails (in moderate amounts) to Cadets for offering help are allowed.

--- COLONEL MANITSAS RETURNS
Well, the week is over, and since I've seen Manitsas on AIM I'm assuming he's back to assume command of Inferno as of this report. Also, during my week in command I have had a grand total of one pilot file in my Inbox (thanks, Oskar :-P). I realize TC-TIE #167 has "issues," but if we stay at this rate, we'll have about four BSFs for the month of March. If you feel compelled to fly, then it doesn't become fun anymore, but if you ever have some free time I made a post on some of my favorite Battles a while back; these ones should actually be fun to play and not dump dozens and dozens of waves at you for no apparent reason. However, graphics for the ECR should be top priority.

--- COLONEL TORRES REJOINS
This happened during my first time as A-CMDR, I believe. And now he's gone and joined again. Anyway, welcome back, and I hope you enjoy your uniform from Boliv Tailoring, Inc.

--- ECR SQUADRON TURNOUT

(Shamelessly pasted from earlier mail)

CMDR/COL Manitsas/Inferno 1-1: Runon part V
FM/LCM Bora Yar/Inferno 1-4: Runon part XIII
FL/CPT Calvin Nunb/Inferno 2-1: Runon part I
FM/LCM Talon Zetar/Inferno 2-2: Runon part IV
FM/LCM Edvard/Inferno 2-3: Runon part X
FM/COL Jack/Inferno 2-4: No submission
FL/LCM Triji Boliv/Inferno 3-1: Blah Blah Blah
FM/COL Torres/Inferno 3-2: Excused
FM/LT Oskar Holtz/Inferno 3-3: The Commodore's Cargo

That's 7/8, or 87.5% participation.

I've e-mailed by HTML compilation of the ECR fiction to Darklord, so the submissions should be on the domain within a short while. So far I have not received any graphic submissions.

--- HONOR GUARD COMPETITION
Try and get this done before the 14th (otherwise it's just good for the FCHG points...). According to the isdchallenge.org domain, the winner or winners will get a Gold Ribbon for their Iron Star (aren't ribbons for non-flying comps?). In any case, the top twelve pilots will form the Wing X Honor Guard to represent the Challenge against other ships and squadrons.

Wing X News:

- Wing X is second place in ECR, but still ten points behind the Relentless; 100% participation and high-quality graphics and scores will be crucial for our re-crowning as the Battlegroup flagship.

- As emailed by GN Darklord:

The award of WC's Own this month has to go to Typhoon Squadron! Taking into account both the BSF ratings, and the MSE's for the month, they were by far the most active squadron within the wing in February, and pretty much so in January too. Many thanks to COL Callista for her excellent service as Typhoon CMDR, and the best of luck to CM Airyu in the future.

- A new poll is up on the isdchallenge.org domain.

- LCM Sephiroth is A-CMDR of Tempest Squadron until the 17th while Locke is in Virginia.

TIE Corps News:
As posted on tc.org...

- Tactical Order #001

Persons having skipped a mission in a battle MUST fill out a legitimate bug report on that battle in order to receive credit for that battle.

If the Tactical Office discovers you are NOT doing so, the BSF's in question will be removed from your record, irregardless of previously completed entries for said battle.

- The Phoenix Engineers Team is proud to release its first set of battle fixes! The following battles have been checked and cleared for dispersal.
TC-TIE 134 TC-TIE 148
TC-TIE 155 TC-TIE 156
TC-XvT 4 TC-XWA 3
FREE-TIE 148
IW-XW 2 IW-XW 7

- After a week of XWA multiplayer battling with 84 other clubs, the EH earned its second BSC medal for fighting its way to 4th place! Congratulations go out to COL Dras Hempor who finished as 8th overall pilot, and CPT Lito Rendal who finished 10th, both earning their own personal BSC medals. Thanks to all who participated, bringing glory and honor to our club!
