INFERNO SQUADRON NEWS:
--- ORDERS FOR ALL INFERNO PILOTS:
(1) Fly TC-TIE #165 - The Hunt for Zsinj against your fellow Inferno pilots. It is due February 10, and the winner will get a profile uniform image with a photorealistic background, updated if needed.
(2) Add a part of the story in the form of a mission when the Inferno Battle Project Run-on story gets to you. LCM Ace has the file now. Next would be LCM Triji Boliv, LT Bora Yar, COL Jack, and LT Oskar Holtz.
(3) Consider designing a brief mission for either TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, or X-Wing Alliance to be selected for the Jedi Convention 2001 held in Cologne, Germany this Easter. Details available at http://www.tiecorps.org/tac/contest.html
(4) The SSL 2000 Semifinals only await a starting announcement. Provide the best hints for getting a high score directly the pilots of Wing X (wingx-announce@egroups.com) and earn a PC!
--- COMMANDER CORRAN HALCYON TAKES OVER CYCLONE SQUADRON
After a long struggle to get his own Wing X squadron, CM Corran Halcyon has been given command of Cyclone. Congratulations to him, and best wishes for a long and productive service. LT Oskar Holtz has been moved to Halcyon's old position in Flight one.

--- COL MANITSAS BEGINS FIFTH YEAR IN EMPEROR'S HAMMER
Four years ago today, I e-mailed my TFR to Ronin. I was assigned to Inferno Squadron position 1-2 under Squadron Commander Brigadier General Bouush. Today I wear the Order of the Vanguard, Fourth Echelon. Thank you all for a fun four years.
--- INFERNO MOTTO CONTEST
The winning squadron motto has been decided: "Walk with me into Fire." I enjoyed reading each suggestion from the pilots, and each one helped me to understand what I really wanted in a motto. I wanted it to be dignified, inspirational, short, and devoid of boastful or violent statements. This motto is directly lifted from a line in a Minbari prayer from the TV Show Babylon 5, "Will you walk with me into fire?" At the time I decided on this one, I heard another quote from a rerun of that show, given at the beginning of a clash between President Clark's Elite Guard destroyers and Susan Ivanova's White Star Fleet, that might also have been fun: "God sent me."

WING X NEWS
--1. COL Mell has left the Challenge after a short stay to rejoin the Colossus. Congrats to CM Halcyon (halcohol@hotmail.com) taking up the job of Cyclone Squadron CMDR
--2. COL Kessler is going to the Reserves, and LC Hicks (formerly LC Corran Horn) (coho@emperorshammer.ca) becomes the new Tornado squadron CMDR!
--3. WC/COL Darklord returned from leave on Monday.
TIE CORPS NEWS
--1. Hammer Squadron, of Wing IX, ISD Relentless is the 1st TIE Corps Battlegroups Ace Squadron. Any squadron in the BG can now challenge Hammer for the title, just as pilots challenge each other for ship ace titles.

--2. The Colossus now has a new COM and WC, Rear Admiral Troutrooper and Major Drake respectively.
--3. The third Battlegroups Flagship Competition will be starting in February with the Cantina Run: a multiphase competition that will start shortly.
--4. The Commodore of the ISD Vanguard has also changed...congratulations to the new COM, RA Ender mBind.
--5. The new Wing Commander of Wing XIV (ISD Intrepid) has been selected as Major Brakka, and the new WC of Wing XV (ISD Vanguard) has also been selected as Major Khadgar. Congratulations to both of them.

FLEET NEWS
--1. Admiral StarLion has finally replaced Fleet Admiral Striker as the new Tactical Officer of the Emperor's Hammer. He has since taken on two CAs; Rear Admiral Arso Slyth (CA:TAC1), and Admiral Havoc (CA:TAC2).
--2. Rear Admiral Moreco has been appointed as the new IWCOM of the Infiltrator Wing...hopefully he will be able to help this ailing subgroup...
--3. Rear Admiral KDOG has been appointed as the new Morale Officer of the Emperor's Hammer!
