SQUADRON NEWS

small

New pilots have joined us! The end of June saw the arrival of Sub-Lieutenant Wildcat from basic training and taking a spot in Flight 3, and General Jarek La'an who decided he'd spent enough time away from an active squadron and made his triumphant return. Welcome to you both!

Activity awards for June have been processed for the squadron, so please congruatulate Colonel Locke Setzer on his Bronze Star of the Empire, Major Prost Varsis on his Palpatine Crescent, and General Jarek La'an on earning an Imperial Security Medal! Great work by all!

Squadron ReMobilization completed at the end of June and I am incredibly pleased with Typhoon's efforts. Ultimately, we finished first in Battlegroup 3 for the number of objectives completed, and third overall fleet-wide! Great work, Typhoon!

TIE Corps in Battle Season 6 ended mid-June, and Typhoon fared very well! We narrowly edged out Alpha squadron and took second place overall! Congrats to Colonel Locke Setzer for taking 5th place overall for the season and 4th for XvT as a platform. Great work!

With the addition of our two new pilots, Typhoon is now eligable to begin earning Squadron Citation for SP battle completion. With the addition of these pilots, the squadron insantly completed one of my personal objectives of having Typhoon lead the fleet in citations earned. Thanks to the efforts of all of our pilots, we are currently the fleet leader!

Fleet News

There have been some consolidation efforts around the fleet. Hammer Squadron closed in Battlegroup 2. Closer to home, Thunder and Raven squadrons have both closed, their pilots transferring to other positions around the fleet or to the Reserves. Alpha Squadron of Battlegroup 1 also closed recently under less pleasant circumstances. Remember kids, don't cheat!

An updated version of the Squadron Management course is now live and available for you to take. SM6 can be taken here!

The announcement was made recently that we can expect Raise the Flag to run during the month of September. This is the third of the large, fleet-wide competitions run every year, and the one with the most bragging rights associated with it as it decides which battlegroup will be the home of the TIE Corps Commander and the Strategic Operations Officer for the next year. Normally, having your boss's boss (or your boss's boss's boss, depending on your position) hanging around isn't any kind of reward that one would normally compete for, but here we are. For the last year, the flagship has been the ISD-II Hammer. The year previously, it was here with the Challenge.

SQUADRON & SHIP EVENTS

There are a number of competitions running at the moment. A few have been highlighted below.

STANDING ORDERS

As always, my requirements are simple, put a point on the board for the month! Utilize Discord to chat with squadmates and others from around the fleet. And more than anything, have fun!
