Theta Squadron Report #14
REPORTING OFFICER: LC Vapen Van'an, CMDR

Theta Commander Vapen Van'an began to march down the line of TIE Defenders after inspecting the Lambda-class shuttle of Flight 3. He had ensured Lieutenant Starstriker's station on the shuttle was polished and in order, and had moved on to the Defenders of Flight 2. Newly promoted Lieutenant Enderon's Defender was in almost perfect condition; the power regulator for the shield system needed a minor adjustment- nothing he would hold against a pilot new to a TIE that had shields.
As Vapen approached Flight 1, he heard the distinct sound of a solder-blaster. He took a brief look over Sub-Lieutenant Bane's starfighter, mainly to ensure the noise was not coming from there. He moved onto Commander Chuanach's fighter and the sound started to get louder. As he climbed the ladder down from the catwalk, Drummer himself stuck his head out.
"Heya Colonel," the human piped up,"perfect timing! I just finished the upgrades to my fighter."
"Upgrades?" Vapen inquired, his left antennae moved up slightly, almost like raising an eyebrow.
"Indeed, have a seat and let me show you!" Drummer exclaimed as he ushered Vapen into the pilot seat. Drummer flipped a switch on the left, turned a dial near it, and suddenly from all around, upbeat funky jizz filled the cockpit. Vapen turned the dial down, so a conversation could be had over the music. Before he could say anything Drummer interrupted,
"It's a seven speaker surround sound plus 250 watt sub, nothing crazy powerful, just enough to make it sound good. Plus I've got a killer playlist for hunting the targets that stand in our way."
Vapen sat quietly for a moment, tracing the outline of his goatee while he thought. Slowly he looked up at the other pilot.
"Anyone, and I mean anyone, hears it over comms once," he paused to emphasis the point, "and the whole system will be confiscated for the Kraken Bar below decks."
One corner of Vapen's mouth raised in the smallest hint of a grin as he stood and climbed up to the catwalk. He turned and looked back down the hatch as the Commander gave a smart salute. Vapen returned it, and marched away. He grinned as he walked away, humming the catchy tune as he made a note in his data pad.

Fleet News
- In Battlegroup III, due to many members needing to step back to the reserves, Thunder Squadron has closed. Some members have chosen to stay active and moved to other squadrons across the fleet.
- In other news, the entire fleet is gearing up for Raise the Flag, which begins in September. In preparation, be looking for a squadron competition coming next month.

- It is my duty to announce that long time Commander and member of Theta Squadron has decided to step back to reserves. General Pete Mitchell, who served as mission overwatch while I have been here, continues the fight against the rebels in other ways. Thank you for your service to Theta, the Warrior, and the TC, General. You can be my wingman anytime!
- In the aforementioned closing of Thunder, not all pilots went to the reserves; one that didn't, CM Drunder "Drummer" Chuanach, a human Mandalorian and former bounty hunter. Thunder was an assassination squadron, so he should fit in nicely as overwatch for our missions.

It's time for some crossword action! Compete for fun, prizes, and most importantly bragging rights! Competition will run with three rounds, each lasting approximately 30 days. Rounds will end/begin on or about the 15th of each month. Puzzle links will be posted in the Competition Announcement channel on Discord.
