Epsilon PatchFROM THE HANGAREpsilon Patch

LCM Nova Discordia entered the Epsilon squadron mess and took in the collection of tired pilots which sat or lounged in the area. It had been a brutally long operation, of almost constant flying, and everybody, herself included where close to exhaustion.

Still, Epsilon has as ever, risen to the challenge and their esprit de corps, remained, whilst weary, unbroken.

Lieutenant Commander Jayden Halcorr, her new SQXO greeted her with a tired smile.

“Orders, Commander?”

“Carry on relaxing, Lieutenant Commander – that’s an order.” “Thank you, ma’am. Epsi-Cola?”

“You know it.” Smiled Nova, and raised her can to her comrades for yet another mission completed with the Epsilon’ usual panache.

Epsilon PatchSQUADRON NEWSEpsilon Patch

Welcome pilots and I hope this finds you all well. Is been a challenging time of late, with lots of real life stuff taking front seat in our pilot chairs, but despite this, Epsilon continues to perform well and many of our pilots have enjoyed a variety of activities’ which I will discuss shortly.

First order of business though is to formally welcome our new SQXO, Lieutenant Commander Jayden Halcorr who joined us on the 22nd April 2023 from Tempest Squadron. As you are aware I’ve had no luck finding a SQXO, but I’m sure you will all agree having known Jayden for a while now, he have gained an outstanding officer, who has taken to his new duties and reasonability’s, like, well a true Epsilon! Welcome Jayden!

This report covers a slightly longer period of time, so some catching up is due for our official records….lets see, we’re start with May 2023 first: I had a quiet month personally so was unable to contribute much, although most of us gained various medals for our outstanding activities’, which is always a lift to our spirits. LCM Leofric and LCM Halcorr lead the way with flying SP, PVE and PvP making sure we didn’t disappear from the TC killboards whilst GN Both continued his excellent performance in the TIE Corps Crossword Challenge – well done officers! Epsilon pilots’ highest award for the month of May 2023 was a very well earned SILVER STAR GN Hunter for gaining the rank of Executor in the FCHG.

Which reminds me to tell you, its worth remembering that you can earn ‘career’ medals for reaching various milestones in your flying – okay these are sometimes rather backdated, but really great to aim for (not to mention get!) when they are achieved.

June saw every busy month for Epsilon, with pilots engaged in a huge variety of events to support the (re)Mob Competition. Although it was, to be honest, a shame that could only field a 40% turn out for participation for this event, Epsilon still achieved a huge amount of goals, which I am very pleased about. The final scores are still being calculated, but lets look at some of the highlights:

LCM Leofric and LCM Halcorr again let the way running SP missions and mission reviews which contributed massively to our final performance. GN Both and LCM Halcorr completed SIX IU courses between them, whilst GN Both continued his excellent support of the crossword competition for Round 3.

We now also have an updated Epsilon Squadron wiki page and a rather fun little project I am working on came from updating this squadron page, where I stumbled upon a little Epsilon back-story lore about a drink we created, Epsi-Cola! I’ve far too much fun developing this lore, the wiki links I’ll post below if you want to have a look. Fly Safe, Pilots!

STANDING EPSILON POLICY:

The expectation from the TC and myself is that that each pilot in Epsilon reach out to your FLs ideally at least once a week either through email, or through Discord DMs. At the very least there should be communication with either/or myself, our SQXO or your Flight Leader, every month. Failure to communicate will highly limit your ability to enjoy the experience of the TC, or indeed follow what is actually happening - equally you run the risk of being transferred to the RSVs as inactive unless you tell us otherwise.

The people you need to reach out to at least once per week are as follows:

Flight 1 – CMDR Nova Discordia (CMDR)
Flight 2 – LCM Jayden Halcorr (FL/SQXO)
Flight 3 - LCM Isagar Sho'oter(FL)

Epsilon PatchROSTEREpsilon Patch
Epsilon Squadron stands at 10 pilots strong -I hope to see Epsilon's number remain high, but where required by the review process be advised that I won't shy away from making clear recommendations on transfers. Likewise, if anyone wishes to depart the squadron please let me know and we can take the required admin action, rather than drifting out of touch over a period of months.

Several pilots in Epsilon currently may need to be transferred to the Reserves to to lack of activity for over three months, from which they can return at any time. I would ask that all of you look at recruiting, as we have two empty pilot seats, I like to see filled as soon as possible.
